This pressure that gay people do with parade it looks the same as the ones who told them to not have the parade.Pressure is not good for anything and you can’t force people to change because they do not believe in same things as you, that is why all this mambo-jumbo is happening every time

It looks that this time gay parade is different …to put Jesus Christ in high hills is something that I can’t even comment. This all thing looks to me like conspiracy with countries who force Serbia to recommend Kosovo .In the same time when they want to organize parade the Hillary Clinton will arrive and of course because the parade will not maintain (a Gey activists will do everything in their power to ban their own parade they already done one step ,to make fun of Jesus and in this way make people more angry) Missis Hillary will then say how Serbia do not respect human rights …. USA is one heck of a country ,with many ways how to make shit in others country …

It could be held outdoors too.

Perhaps that is what is really needed.

I don't see how this is an EU issue - it is a Serbian issue.

Serbian people arguing with other Serbian people.

Serbia is a mixed society - there is no single persuasion that defines a Serbian citizen.

Not even Orthodoxism !

Why don't current government ( well with a PM that was deputy PM on previous one but surprisingly forgot it ) doesn't govern indoor ? Just leave Serbia and its citizens.... No Management is sometimes better than a stupid management !

Gay parade in Belgrade "could be held indoors" …amen to that…I do not put my bed in the middle of the steed either so ,do what you want with your life gay population ,but do not force other people to agree with that because we all are different and we all have a right on our opinion.

The Gay Parade is a stupid requirement of EU for the candidate members. But Albania did not stop the Parade. They organised some small event in Tirana downtown, not a Parade but was much more a small Gay Parade with bicycles.Better than nothing.
I think Serbia should do the same and dont make a big deal about this.

Berisha supported it, but one of the conservative party minister spoke harsh against gays. The religious communities release a declarations against the Parade and that's it.Was over and nobody talks about it anymore.

The sight of people expressing love for each other is not something children need protecting from. They do need protecting from religious bigots & hooligans who would like to destroy the fundamental right of assembly with violence.
Violent homophobes against non violent gays - it's really not hard to see who is in the right here.

This is fair. That way all those who feel like taking part can go to one closed location in peace and do whatever it is they want to do in there. Rent out a hall and go wild.

But please, public streets are for the public. You are not the only one on those streets and you have to be considerate of other people around you. Meaning, children walk on those streets that do not necessarily know the difference between gay and straight or what sex is at all.

Point blank, if the majority population of Serbia is not comfortable with this parade, it cannot be held. Stop forcing yourselves down the throats of everyone else-no pun intended.

If there is a concern about safety, maybe the gay parade should be moved into a stadium in or near Beograd to make it easier for Police to control who comes in.

Comm. Parrisson, I understand your comment, but we are talking about Serbia here. Would it not be better to wait a while, and bring this country into the 20th century (no, I didn't mean 21st), and then start respecting the rights of minorities to assemble? I, having been raised and lived in the USA most of my life, know all that civil rights entails, but Serbia is not ready yet for gay pride parades. No pun intended, but gay pride promoters, and the EU, is attempting to shove this issue down Serb throats. With the state of the economy, the minus funds the government has, the backward mentality of the average Serb citizen towards homosexuality, it simply is the wrong time. I understand the gay community, but the holding of this parade will not change one Serbian mind towards homosexuality - in fact it may make it worse.

Comm. Parrisson

United Serbia (JS) party and its leader Dragan "Palma" Marković asked the government, and those who will make the decision, to ban the parade, as they believe that rights of gay persons are not endangered, and that they "should not be parading in the streets".

Marković added that "this is a very serious moment for Serbia", and that a bad image should not be created for the world, "considering that our country is to be given a date for EU membership negotiations".

Who can find the contradiction in these sentences? Does somebody really think Serbia would show a 'good image' to the world by banning the parade, denying the right of free assembly, and by giving in to hooligans and extreme nationalist groups who thread with violence?
