Michael Thomas,

If a society can be toppled because of a 500-strong minority marching around 1 block, then maybe it should be toppled.

This really shouldn't be a big deal to anyone.

The so called Pride Parade is itself oppression. Professional international "Gays" are flown around the world to head these anti-tradition manifestations.

The true purpose of these Parades is to destroy the existing order of the nation and replace it with confusion and disorder.

These "Gay" Parades have nothing to do with tolerance of homosexuality.

The government isn't obliged to protect a special parade on homosexual rights. The majority people do not want it and don't want their children to see it. And telling people to stay away from the middle of the city when they have business and live there is violating their normal daily living rights. Not supporting a particular type of parade is not violating the normal rights of gays to live their lives - it is just not giving them extra special rights to go out of their way in public and provoke and offend others.

The parade must go on. If it were cancelled (or banned) then we have given in to oppression and censorship.

Even worse! Serbia would have given in to violent hooligans and nationalist groups who threat with violence, and admitting that the state is weak and the police is not able to deal with a small amount (maybe some 1000) of violent rioters, most of them already known to the police for belonging to certain gangs and extremist organizations. These were the reasons given for the ban last year.

How can anyone judge Serbia's government for wanting to ban this?

1- There's a security threat - people getting hurt over this is simply NOT WORTH IT.

and

2- The majority of Serbia's citizens DO NOT want it.

So how is it fair that we're still pushing this on a coutnrty which has already made clear how they feel - democratically.

Those who do not like gays and "straights" who support human rights parading around town should simply stay away. The government is obliged to protect and serve the community, including those they have little or no compassion for.
