Politics and image are dirty games. Iran is no better, they like the US call for peace stabiilty and above all their way. The Iranians have the same if not more comlicity in their actions against Serbs in Kosovo and Bosnia. They sent their fighters to progress and impose their "way of life" on Serbian citizens and territory. My advice Zoki let them duke it out anything that helps our true allies and weakens both their positions can only be a good thing. Let the Iranian right and leftist US batter each other.

What an amusing scenario we have. On the one hand there is Julian Assange and the US working behind the scenes to him on trial and gaol him.

On the other hand we have the US State Department criticizing Vietnam for imprisoning two bloggers who disclosed a few things the Vietnamese Government wanted to keep quiet.

Is it me or is there a smell of American hypocrisy in the air? I suppose the US gaols are more democratic than Vietnamese.

Your comments about Armadinnerjacket's speech are off the mark. If you have such admiration for him and such an inbuilt hatred for the US I suggest you change tack and take up golf.

Why not listen to Ahmadinejad speech and then make judgement? It is about peace and reconciliation, which is quite different to western leaders' call for war and instability. Check -> http://rt.com/news/ahmadinejad-un-us-walkout-029/

I have no particular liking for Iran, they armed the Bosnian Muslims after all, but when their leader makes such a speech and refers to the Balkan wars, then that is much more inspiring than the calls for war.

As for the US, I do not dislike that country or the people. It is more to do with the leaders. There are some very brave Americans out there who are attempting to make changes even though they risk being imprisoned and tortured. Bradly Manning is just one example.

And it is doubtful you will see that because what is to stop him once he leaves UK from boarding another plane for a country that does not have an extradition agreement?

His lawyers are in negotiations with the UK and Sweden. If they come to an agreement then that's it. If they don't, he will remain where he is. Simplez!

Did you watch his speech? It is amazing how documents were released regarding the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi and Afghan civilians. I mean, doesn't that constitutes genocide?

What happened to an international court case with Bush and Blair in the dock? The evidence is overwhelming but no case? Even the war crimes tribunal in Malaysia has found both Bush and Blair guilty of war crimes and genocide. Check for yourself -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZxa0-IXl_U

Assange is simply exposing the truth. That's why he is considered an enemy of the US government.

Also, it seems Assange is making progress in leaving England by possibly being transferred from the Ecuadorian embassy in London to the Ecuadorian embassy in Sweden. That way he continues to be protected and Swedish prosecutors can question him. Of course, the US won't be happy but it may be a way for the UK to wipe their hands clean.
(Zoran, 27 September 2012 14:00)
That makes no sense. His whole issue is not to be extradited to Sweden, it would make no sense to go to Sweden to live his life in their Embassy. Plus he would have to leave the Embassy to go to Sweden and the UK has said he will be arrested if he leaves the grounds. He is only on Ecudorian soil in the compound itself, if there is no agreement with the UK govt he cannot travel. And it is doubtful you will see that because what is to stop him once he leaves UK from boarding another plane for a country that does not have an extradition agreement?

Well done to Assange for speaking the truth. Obama's speech at the UN will not be backed up with deeds, so his words are meaningless. In fact, Ahmadinejad speech was more inspiring than Obama's.
