PM Dacic says: "Serbia’s Prime Minister Ivica Dačić has stated that Serbia wants to get a date for the beginning of the EU accession talks in December."

Now I am really confused. I thought EU is doomed, you want to join forces with Mother Russia, you can't stand US and now your elected PM is pleading with EU to join the same organisation that you despise. Which is it? Somebody explain this to me please...

It's understandable that Serbia wants to begin negotiations to join the EU as soon as possible, but I think they shouldn't rush. I think that Russia is much better ally for them.

The faster Croatia joins the EU the faster the Serbs and all others who had their properties stolen will be able to file court cases in European courts.As far as Serbia joining the EU will not be geographically complete until that day but it should be up to the Serbian people in a referendum to decide.The EU is a VOLUNTARY union people and any nation can LEAVE any time it wants

Serbia deserved to get a starting date for negotiations with the EU. Only if Germany or some other influential country in the EU wants to continue to pressure Serbia over Kosovo, then we will not get the date of inception of negotiations
