The area is called Sava Mala and is on the banks of the Sava River. Before WW2 it was the economic and entertainment centre of Belgrade. The area reminds me of scenes from Paris in old French films. There are plans to renovate and pedestrianise the area, but if some of you want to see it before it is "improved" then you will find it between the central railway station and Brankov Most (Bridge).

This year's Salon is taking place in a worn, downtown building dating from 1905, which organizers say symbolizes "100 years of modern Serbia".

Couldn't agree more with this building and the buildings in this area. With a bit of work, it could become an attractive part of Belgrade. At the moment it looks a bit sad but the architecture is simply amazing.
