I have never once heard of any reports that the counties of dalmatia, istria or even the 4 counties that make up krajina want to seperate. lol there is no krajina and never will be, what you speak of is 4 seperate counties with there own insitutions and infrastructure. The serbs in croatia are happy with the current situation, life is finally back to normal and wounds are slowly healing. But full reconciliation will take time, it was only 17 years ago. So many still have fresh memories of this conflict, especially victims of the war.

Every 5 years Croatia's infrastructure has grown exponentially. Good example Makarska 15 years ago was around 15000 people, now its like 97,000 and the city is unrecognizeable from 10 years ago. There are many other similar examples of this allover Croatia. Croatia also has the highest GDP in eastern europe so they must be doing something right. By the time the Euro dollar starts getting mentioned hopefully the EU crisis will be over.

Should we start with MPRI, an organization of retired US military officers to whom the Croat gov't. millions to to plan,train, guide and execute their murderous operations against many unarmed civilians in the Krajina. They are now being sued for their role in the ethnic cleansing of 250K Serbs in the Krajina. This is the same operation that your hero, Gotovina, was found guilty and sentenced to 24 yrs. for the killing of innocent civilians. Were you proud of the footage of Croat airplanes flying over the columns of elderly Serbs with their children fleeing Krajina on their tractors while Croats bombed and shot at them. Some military success.

Regarding Dubrovnik, very little damage was done to the city, but the Croat propaganda machine, led by Hill & Knowlton, the US PR firm that the Croat gov't. paid millions to to portray themselves as victims, painted a different picture. The Serb Orthodox church in Dubrovnik was destroyed, however, only to be restored now so that the Croats could hide their crimes as they get ready for the EU.

Do you think it was because they needed to cleanse their tarnished and ugly history so that the west would look favorably upon them when they made their break from YU? After all, Croatia fought against the west in two world wars, were the first to establish concentration camps for children during WWII, fought against the Serbs in WWI and then flip flopped and eagerly joined the South Slav state and more recently slaughtered Muslims in the war of the 90s and then formed an alliance of convenience with them to fight the Serbs and now want nothing to do with Muslims. Yeah, I'd say you guys need some good PR. Now that you have your own country, it is interesting that it is the least diversified entity in all of Europe with a 95% Croatian population after having driven out nearly all the Serbs.
