EA if verifying the temporary occupation is what Serbia needs to do to "receive help" from the U.S.A. then Serbia will simply have to say no.
(Ari Gold, 19 September 2012 14:17)

Sure, and then these 10,000 children http://www.b92.net/eng/news/society-article.php?yyyy=2012&mm=07&dd=21&nav_id=81391 will get a second meal from you :)

I agree with the above. The problem I have with you Ari is that only trust the Serbian courts and I am assuming the Russian courts.

No, take out the courts set up by Russia, like ICTY... Ari Gold does not trust them

@pss well that depends, were these white Americans ethnic Serbs? Because if they were, they were most certainly ethnic cleansed. I can give similar examples here in the UK. My father was born and raised in Bradford. But as the 70s progressed the amount of Pakistanis living in Bradford did too. And by the time my father was 15, my grandparents decided (were forced) to move to a nice middle class rural white area of West Yorkshire. Obviously my father was ethnical cleansed from his home and it had nothing to do with my grandparents not wanting to live near a Pakistani area of Bradford.

Interesting we had the same phenomenom in the US. In the 40's and 50's blacks began moving out of their ghettos into white America, the first few families were met with violence and attempts to move them out. But as numbers grew, white families chose to move out of the neighborhoods not from fear of the blacks but because of their own hatred they would not dare to live beside a black family. But of course the same rumors persisted as they did not feel comfortable. If a neighborhoom became majority black then the whites fled in droves.

Now were whites "cleansed" from these areas or did they move because of their own ignorant hatred?
(pss, 20 September 2012 08:23)

Both. Some whites left because of their own ignorant hatred others because of being threatened and felt uncomfortable.

Haitian, interesting where Albanians have gone to live, the number of Serbs refugees from KiM will never be accurately known, but it is a lot. They were driven, and continue to be, from their ancestral homes for generations. This is not a recent phenomenon. The matter is, these people, whatever the number is, should feel safe to return to their homes, and live in peace and security. Don't you agree with that at least, regardless of the actual numbers?

True, the accurate amount of Serb refugees will never be known; but one thing we can be sure of is that the figure will always be over exaggerated by Serbs as they like to portray themselves as 'victims' and make out that everyone else is in the wrong. They are good at doing this.

And I agree with the second part of this comment also, however isolated instances get portrayed as common place and thus deter further returnees; it is all part of the propaganda. Remember it is in Thaci and co's interests for Serb returnees to come back to Kosovo as it makes them look like the good guys. And Belgrade funding all that in the north is aimed at making Pristina look bad towards Serbs. Not to mention the provocations. But the same should apply to Bosniak returnees to what is now the RS,

What makes you so astonished ? Serbia is the most important state in the region where most of the local conflict’s keys are kept. Besides Russia will no more allow foreign organizations sponsor Russian on government organizations. So the visit is to try to stop the wildfire to reach Balkans soon.

Sometimes th reality is interesting for some people here making great noise about other countries and ignoring the reality in Serbia, looking only back with the stupid question like crying children "but why the other is allowed this and this, and me not". So here the GDP per capita in USD (2011 est.)
Serbia 10 800, Albania 7 800, Kosovo, 6 500, FYROM 10 500, BiH 8 200, Croatia 18 400, 26 600, Turkey 14 700
Serbia is really very poor and not far from third-world countries or better among them...as EU-member would be in a situation like an old Serb peasant at Harvard

I think the only myths here are the ones created in the 1990's that Serbs were the instigators and should be forced to hold collective guilt for the Yugoslav Wars, nothing Serbia should put up with. While Snake is allowed to be the puppet head of the Jihadi occupation, Serbia handed over all of the Hague indictees without even an investigation on Thaci. The crimes that some Serbs have committed in the 90s have both been brought to light but everyone is supposed to keep quiet about the Albanian, Bosniak and Ustasha war crimes.

Unlike you who glorifies a very known organ extractor, drug trafficker and all around thief (billions of aid from Western NGO's gone no where, Albanians live in the 3rd world) I owe no allegiance to Milosevic, Karadzic or Mladic. I do not look at any of them as heroes, not Arkan, not Seselj.. none of them.

But all of them should have had their day in court in Serbia. Not some kangaroo court who's primary objective is to prove collective guilt on the Serbs and thereby validating the Western involvement in the 90's. It was required that the trials are conducted in a fair manner (unlike the Hague) and be accused of not only the violent crimes but treason for committing crimes in the name of Serbian people.

And as far as I'm concerned, if any Serb was found guilty for war crimes in a fair trial then they should be executed in front of the families of civilians that were murdered by Serb forces.

(Milan, 19 September 2012 12:07)

200,000 Serbian refugees?
Well according to the 1991 Yugoslavian census there were 194,190 Serbs in Kosovo. And there are around 140,000 Serbs living in Kosovo today. So that 200,000 refugee figure just isn't mathemetically possible. Unless there was a MASSIVE baby boom in the early 1990s, but I've never heard of that. So I'm guessing that your 200,000 figure must include a lot of ethnic-Albanian refugees?

Ari Gold,

I have never said that Serbia is an unimportant country but unfortunately your political leaders have discredited to its limits by blowing the Serbian nationalism relying on myths. That is another subject.

I am concerned about how you judge the EU and its organisation where you wish to join. Can you immagine if your personal views would have been you government views....Everyone will think that these people are full of nutters.

You keep on mentionion KLA terrorsits and NATO agressors....but never say anything bad about the Serbian head of state Slobodan Miloshevic. Europe has got much bigger memory than you and myself. President Clinton stop the ethnic cleansing of Kosovo from Milloshevic's regime and I am preatty sure that he is very proud of it and will do it again if needed. His wife Hillary is trying to help Serbia how achieve peace with its neighbours including Kosovo. Serbia can say NO if she wishes so....BUT should not blame the other for its misfortunes. Next Serbian loss would be Vojvodina....

Despite what our KLA friends on B92 would like us to believe, Serbia is the most important country in this region. Yes Hilary has made a number of stops lately but there is no doubt that global superpowers have an interest in Serbia.

EA if verifying the temporary occupation is what Serbia needs to do to "receive help" from the U.S.A. then Serbia will simply have to say no. But what you and others would like to believe is that nobody cares what Serbia thinks in the region because Serbia is unimportant. But Merkel, Clinton, Biden...all these people come to visit Serbia for the simple fact that the way Serbia goes matters deeply to these countries. But thanks for putting in overtime because you care deeply about your home country.

Serbia should obviously not allow Hilary to come. I wonder how she feels walking through Serbia, the scene of her husband's crimes? I guess its the same feelings she had walking into her own bedroom the time of Bills presidency.

However, a country that does share Serbia's national interest and should be courted is Israel. This country would be very interested in forming an alliance with Serbia but we need a government that is ready willing and enable to fully ally itself with Israel. And through this country Serbia could lobby for a change in Western policy to at least get the aggressors in NATO to F off a bit and deter some of these Western policy makers who have an obsessive craving to subdue Serbia.

wait a minute, Mrs.Clinton is coming to Serbia to talk about KiM? I thought it was "a done deal"!?

seems like Mr. Nikolic meeting with Mr.Putin for some course setting is making the US-administration nervous.

as for those naive comments that I am already expecting by our dear k-albanian friends: there is no need for a referendum, boys, we have KiM secured in our constitution. so you don´t have to put your hopes on a referendum in Serbia, actually.

you should rather hope that the US make an exception with you and don´t let you down like they did with all their other "friends" and "allies"...

because, then it would come even faster that you would have to adjust yourself to a new situation... but even if the US cling to playing your sugardaddy, sooner or later they will have to pull back. and then you will be very eager to "talk" with the Serbs...

The way out would be referendum so the Serbian polititians can save their skin. I would not question the intellegence for the Serbian people.

Both. Some whites left because of their own ignorant hatred others because of being threatened and felt uncomfortable.

What Clinton's messsege will be to Serbia...? Can everyone guess? America's support for Serbia in its effort to join EU but the messege will very clear that Serbia MUST recognise officially Kosovo independence and remove parallel institutions in northern Kosovo. How Serbia will do that by referendum or with political understanding that is to be seen. I personally doubt that the Serbian polititians have got guts to tell the truth to Serbian people. The way out would be referendum so the Serbian polititians can save their skin. I would not question the intellegence for the Serbian people.

Next Serbian loss would be Vojvodina....

wait a minute, Mrs.Clinton is coming to Serbia to talk about KiM?

What makes you so astonished ? Serbia is the most important state in the region where most of the local conflict’s keys are kept. With the worldwide anti-American hysteria they have to do something to cover their real face. Today USAID has been forbidden in Russia. Besides Russia will no more allow foreign organizations sponsor Russian on government organizations. So the visit is to try to stop the wildfire to reach Balkans soon.

Ari Gold

I trust in European values, its instutions and principles. You hate everything from the West, Hague, NATO, EU...and that is your problem....

When it comes to KLA you are trying to make the scaremongering about Jihad terrorism, temporary occupation of Kosovo and all this crap. Let me assure you that genarally speaking we Albanians if I can put it nicely do not pay too much attention to religion and historically we are proud to respect the diversity of religions. In Kosovo war situation was more complicated because it is very clear that Serbian orthodox church is very much identified in politics and stir up the waters....It is a very long story but let's not get there. I personally condemn any violent acts committed towards a genuine place of worship and any civilians.

@rote You just used three sentences to say pretty much nothing.
