Who is only listening to every voice from politicians abroad what Serbia should do will never find a clear position and will not be respected abroad. Nobody will be more Serbian as the Serbs are. And the real duty of the Serbian elite is to develop the country, the economy, the educational system, healthcare etc. But nobody is interested in such "small" things.

That referendum that Nikolic is talking about - "EU or Kosovo" - might clear the air. But - he says he is considering holding one only if the people he talks to at the UN insist on formal recognition of Kosovo's independence, which everybody and his second-cousin have said is not necessary, all anybody is insisting on is good relations. So the air will probably remain murky in order for politicians to ensure maximum public outrage (and support in the next election) from every visiting foreign politician's every comment. Too bad. People should be given a chance to determine their country's destiny. Even a result of no EU and no Kosovo would at least end the constant tension and allow the country and its politicians to focus on rational steps to improve the economy and people's lives.

Slovakia today offcially congratulated Koaova for the end of its supervised independence. It looks that soon the numbers will change from 5 to 4 in favour of Kosovo.Slovakia will recognise Kosova in 6 months.

Finally, good neighborly relations. whilst vulin stokes the fire, clearly not on same page, great strategy and he doesn't even represent the people of Kosovo

@ecoman: like a littel child: "we are better", but NOBODY in the West would speak in public so with Tashi or Berisha how they are doing with the Serb politicians...it is at the end of the day a question of respect, also the question that nobody likes people one day kissing the shoes and next day sitting in bad mood in a corner..how saif Richard Holbrooke about Serbian politicians: if you show them clear who is the boss they are very brave. you must not speak to gentle with them. A third-class German MP is enough to impress them.

the greatest enemy for the Serb politicains of all parties are the won people, nobody is interested to develop the country for the own people...so for many Serbs the enemy is not only the own country, for many Serbs the enemy is the own country...very sad truth, and nobody will and can turn these people into friends with the current policy which is the old one

It will be a good idea...you can please each other how great the Serbian nation is and above all the Serbian polititians....)))

Geez, if it wasn't for Albanians commenting on Serbian politicians, there would be no comments at all. Thank God I can read Serbian, and go see what Serbian citizens are actually saying. But when Albanians have such noble, trustworthy, and clean politicians such as Thaci and Berisha, it is then easy to criticize politicians from Serbia.

The PM has turned from a Milosevic-follower to an "well-respected" PM, and so he will turn enemies into friends. But the reality lokks different. The Western dailies are full with the stories aboutthe past of the PM and NO story is reporting about Serbia with a real friendly gesture. I would say, what is the difference if they report about other countries: the missing respect for Serbia and Serbs. But the PM is living in his dreamland.

The greatest success is to turn an enemy into a friend Dacic says.
Yes you are right and the greatest enemy of Serbia is its elite. As premier you are part of it, so is easy task, just change your mentality and be correct with your story, and transparent with your people.
