I hope that one day the reason will win. Especially in Europe no one can find a "pure" member of a so called ethnic group! Who can define one? Who is a real one? It is absurd. There were so many migrations through Europe. Do not forget that in Europe also humans lived in the stone ages. So "mixing" is unavoidable. We have all the same origins. Look at the mitochondrial DNA. A fascist should read and understand more about history and science. From good sources! The belief that your ethnic group is better is imagined. Nations are a new concept and hopefully will disappear soon. They are only designed to assure power to a minority. I cannot believe what I am seeing and hearing when fascists are talking. They do not know their own family history in all details. It is impossible. They are betraying and lying to themselves. A sample: Csanád Szegedi a Hungarian. Reset your mind. It will give peace to you and you will be able to build something for your own future. Hate has never been a good counselor and war will never solve your problems. They are causing just new bigger ones. I wish you all the best.

@Mar..In most of the world that actually matters today, people don't really give a sh*t about who's Catholic and who's Orthodox and even less about who's Croatian and who's a Serb. As a Croat I'm so ashamed to hear that there's sh*t like this leading a major Croatian city.

Frankly you have no idea how the world works. You say that because you are neither a Croat or Serb ( What date do you celebrate Christmas? )True Croats don't marry Serbs nor do true Serbs marry Croats. Your father could've married anyone in the world but no he had to marry someone from the lower class. Your only ashamed of Kerum's comments because your beloved YU doesn't exist anymore. What do they call you people with mixed marriages these days ' South Slavs' or 'Cross Breeds'. Thank god we are able to govern without being stood over by corporate fats cats from Beograd. Germany is the economic powerhouse in Europe today and who do you think they are going to assist in the next 100 years?

Serbs were always fools to trust Croats. They are forever backstabbers. Croats only joined with Serbia to secure extra land, which the Serb army helped them get (Dalmatia & Istria) and to get out from under foreign (Austrian, Italian) domination and meddling, and to jump from the losing side to the allies side (and hence get out from any reparations). Once they got what they wanted they immediately started all kinds of problems and terrorism. They were never loyal to Yugoslavia and betrayed it to Germans/foreign countries for the wars.
Serbs should never ever forget the lessons of the past and how the players have acted again and again throughout history.

This is a typpical racsist..
One day in the future we will get back our land, starting with the joining of Croatia in the E.U.= many Croats of BIH/MNE/SRB will move to Croatia or to other European countries.

If he was not a fascist and if we did not have nationalists like the major then the best option for Croatia and Serbia was to stay united, the Yugoslav concept was good. A federal state...
But hey I heard that Barroso and van Rompuy want to make a federal state out of the E.U. and in 10 years perhaps the remaining ex-yu republics will join the EU and then we are together again.

What was the meaning of the war/nationalism and hate..

Wow!

I think the biggest problem in Croatia today are idiots like this. Even if you're a fascist nutcase who dislikes "Serbs", it takes a whole lot of useless imagination and brainlessness to blame all the problems of an entire nation on a mere 5% of the total population who are now for the most part, generally underprivledged and in many cases severely discriminated agianst. I think one of the first things Croatia should do to help resolve it's problems is purge itself of fascist relicts like this bozzo. There really is no excuse for this kind racism in modern Europe. I think some Croats have a very perverted understanding of what "western civilization" really means. Europe left the great schism behind almost 1000 years ago. Sorry to break it to these folks, but it's no longer the year of our lord 1054 and king "Hrvatomir" isn't fending off Byzantines anymore. In most of the world that actually matters today, people don't really give a sh*t about who's Catholic and who's Orthodox and even less about who's Croatian and who's a Serb. As a Croat I'm so ashamed to hear that there's sh*t like this leading a major Croatian city. My only hope is that coming generations in Croatia will cleans the society of this kind of rubbish. Now before we all get upset at what the mayor of Croatia's most backward city has to say, maybe we should look at the larger picture. Ever since Croats decided they no longer wanted to adhere to ideas of Brotherhood and Unity and instead think of themselves as some 1000 year old pureblooded ethnic race that has a history and culture older than almost every civilization around them (despite being someone else's vassal for 975 of those years), they've had a rather difficult time trying to get Ljepa Nasa to work. And how can you blame them? When you expel your largest minority in one weekend, you lose a large amount of your economic base, let alone a working class. Cities like Karlovac are all but dead as the absence of Serbs left nothing to sell in open markets. Croats with any mobility moved away a long time ago to Zagreb. Much of Dalmatia is abandoned and impoverished, with only the coastal resort cities able to rely on some form of revenue via tourism. The economic strain, not to mention more than 10 years of Tudjman's crude quasi-fascism has left Ljepa Nasa as little more than a peripheral market. I mean don't get me wrong, Kerum's idiotic statements were catered for expats like Bam Bam, but at the same time, he's not that far off in realizing economic impoverishment and forced readjustment of authoritarian policies by the EU for EU membership are the "fault" of Serbs. Not because of what they did or continue to do, but because of policies that led to their absence.

Croats have a history of whining and as one Austro-Hungarian official said over 120 years ago, they don’t know what they want.
They wanted a free Croatia; they got one, so what is the problem now? Croatia lived the life of riley for a decade with EU help until the GFC and now reality sinks in that Croatia’s only real source of income is tourism. For decades I recall the Croats tell anyone who would listen how they supported Serbia financially – it’s funny how lies have very short legs as they say. There is an underlining expectation from Croats that Serbs owe something to them; a good living while they look down on us from a height.
Željko Kerum knows his real complaint is that now that all the money has gone Zagreb has to fulfill all those agreements it signed with Belgrade involving such things as the refugees which will cost billions of Euros, but the government vault is empty. Something has to give; territory or cash and the EU are in total agreement. Plus Serbia will control the South stream gas and if you don’t do as we say you freeze in winter and no industry.
Please note that Milanovic has already divided Croatia in two for administrative purposes – the Ustashi groups are furious. It’s only the start.

The mayor, while not eloquent is correct. When you have a group of people in a small country like Croatia, that constantly agitate for more power, more control, and subvert national interests and ultimately want to belong to another country this causes you to expend a great amount of attention and resources that takes away from building a strong and prosperous state. If the Serbs of Croatia want to be part of Croatia, then be a loyal Croatian citizen just like you would have to be any other country. However, if your goal is not be part of Croatia, then you should go to another place that you feel more comfortable; but under no circumstances is sedition welcome nor should it be tolerated from any group.

Then Serbs running a tela scam arrested. As for the weird mayor what did you do to him Serbs.

Just one look at this retard, says it all - fascism is alive and well in Croatia. Just like the Nazi's in pre-WWII Germany blamed the Jews for all their ills, so do these slime in Croatia blame the Serbs. In reality though, how can one blame the Serbs for anything in Croatia, the Ustashe have pretty much cleansed the country of all minorities. God help us from hateful loonies like this.

The Mayor of Split is a good reason why Serbia needs to keep a strong military for self-defence purposes; it's easier to convince a group of people that another group is responsible for their problems during bad economic conditions.

I got a good chuckle when I read the latest hate speech from this extremist mayor who shares Germany's 'EU Values'. Of course the Serbs are the problem, because the Serbs were the real workers in Croatia, and without them, there is nobody left to do the hard work and heavy lifting in that joke of a country. Now that the western sponsored genocide is complete, and all Serbs have been expelled from Croatia, I see them here in Canada working hard, being successful, making lots of money....all of them.

People like this should be cast back to their mountain villages where they most likely came from. There's plenty of donkeys and sheep there for them to screw around with both figuratively and literally, though I'm sure they prefer the latter.

Comm. Parrisson

"Kerum also believes that Serbs have a controlling influence on the media, and money in Croatia.

"They (Serbs) are active in Europe, let alone in Croatia. Those are horrific positions, especially in the media," the mayor explained his view of the influence of Serbs."

It sounds very similar to things that state officials once said about the Jews in Germany in the times of the NAZI government. So you see what kind of person this mayor is like.
