Under Prime Minister Kostunica we were a lot better. I guess its up for debate how much of that is due to him and how much of it was due to the economic situation of the Balkans and the world as then we did not have this global crisis.

But something the Serbian gov't will not tell you is Serbia can at the same time allocate more funds towards education, health, military while simultaneously cutting spending. Reason being is Serbia has 150 more members of parliament than the US Senate, it has 130+ government agencies while Germany only has 8 it has an EU ambassador, an ambassador to all EU countries, an office for EU integration, a minister for the EU, a ambassador to the OSCE, CoE & NATO.

These are ALL high paying positions and the salaries are well above the national average. It is not so much even public sector jobs that is the problem (although Serbia should not rely on its gov't to provide jobs) rather its actual government jobs. Sorry Serbia does not even have 10 million people why in the hell do we need that much government.

We wont even get into the fact that the government (at least the Tadic Otporista government) allocated part of the state budget for Western NGO's to open up abortion clinics thereby basically giving money to kill ourselves.

Times are tough, and they will be for a bit longer regardless but things get a lot more clearer and easier to manage when you start dissecting where the state budget/taxpayer money is spent on.

Small decrease, hopefully one of many

I hope we soon return to the level we were at before the disaster known as Mirko Cvetkovic
