"No EU negotiations date before late 2013"

Serbia will not be given a date for the start of EU accession talks before December 2013, and will have until the end of next year to meet Germany's demands.

The west could not do it 13 years ago when Serbia was at its weakest and with the economic crises in the west today that horse has long bolted out of the yard and you can try and close the gates as much as you like. That is exactly what we are talking about here; you have desperate groups arriving in Belgrade telling them they must do this or that or no EU.
Demi the EU is technically dead man walking. Iy has been downgraded by all the Asian rating agencies and now we have the US printing more money so that Obama can wuin the elections in November.
Too little too late. Its only a matter of time before Serbia tells the EU what to do with its membership – this is all building up to that.

Out of curiosity, anyone know when the road from Pristina to Albania will be finished? I think it will come in good use sometime soon.

Yes another land route to move supplies and equipment into Kosovo! NATO may find it very useful one day soon. It will be much easier if the need arises this time.

What Germany demands from Serbia will lead to Serbian exodus from Kosovo, so Germany is for ethnic cleansing of Kosovo.
(aaayyy, 15 September 2012 14:21)

This is the most intelligent cause-effect statement I've ever seen :)

Delay it for as long as you can Germany, you know you are asking for the impossible. These are not demands but ultimatums and really, there is only one conditions - which is for Serbia to become loyal servant boot lickers like K*-Albanians and Croatians. Sorry, we're not like that! Thought they would have learned that by now.
(Zoran, 15 September 2012 20:46

Yeah, it's really strange that people never learn that Serbs would never become loyal servant boot lickers of Germany; Serbs proudly lick only Russian boots.

My 2 cents on this are that the Germans are coming out to support Schulz on this. Apparently, Schulz was not understood and things needed to be made crystal clear for Belgrade. Same old story, you need to hit Belgrade hard on the head to get understood. If even the Germans are not understood, the British will repeat the message, then Austria, France, Italy, Sweden, and the line is long. Tadic did not have these comprehension problems.

I really don't know why some Albanians are having another one of their "there you have it" moments. Germany has mercifully postponed any serious talk of Serbia joining the EU until the end of next year so until that time we can have all sorts of fun screwing up "Kosova's" attempt at establishing authority in the north, making it obvious north Kosovo must at least be given comprehensive autonomy from Albanian hegemony, and waiting for the current government in Berlin to crumble under the weight of EU mismanagement which will probably push Serbia's EU bid back further. We've got all the time in the world to fulfill German demands that will be irrelevant by the time they come around to asking us how we're doing :)

And it's nice that will all these demands, recognition of Kosovo* isn't among them, so all of this is little more than a rhetorical display of authority instead of an actual display of power politics.

There you have it, indeed.

Germany says this Germany says that, are you really bothered?
Its more important for the EU that Serbia is a member rather than it being important for Serbia to become one, just look at the map.
Stand your ground and do not be bullied by last chance/last opportunity demands, seems to me like economic blackmail now.

On german heads be it. No Serbia, no Kosovo*. Albanians are already agitating in FYROM and against upcoming privatizations.

Germany is desperate to get Belgrade to accept their diktat now because it will be even more difficult in future. Their forced apartheid on serbs in north kosovo was a disaster for their public relations showing armed troops attacking civilians whilst claiming at the same time they uphold human rights. It fooled nobody and showed NATO in a very bad light.

I am so very pleased to see the Germans behaving like this in public. At the same time they still expect german business to make good profits and win contracts in Serbia (RWE). Is this "You vill sign vis contract or ve vill shoot every tenth person"? Idiots.

The rest of Europe has now been warned. Another gigantic favor the Serbs have done for the West (and the East).

Serbia will meet the demands just like in the past. They will recognize Kosova as independent and the two countrys will enter EU. This is what will happend. It's a one way road and there is no other roads. For Serbia there is Russia but that road is very dark and shady.

All you serbs and pro-serbs who comment here day in and day out can say tit and tat but this is what will happend in the end. Serbia have no other choice and serbian politicans already have understood that. It dosen't matter who is in the goverment.

Serbia cannot and will not even try to stop Kosova statehood. The independence of Kosova is irreversible and it will not change!

B92 in Serbian is speaking "No negotiations before 2013", in English "No date for negotiations before 2013 (December)" what means, No negotiations before 2014. There is no doubt that some Western countreis have also other conditions ready: the complete change of the Serbian textbooks for history, the same rights whcih the Serbis in Kosoo (never) will have in rality for the Hungarinas, Albanians AND Germans in Serbia etc etc. Germany is planning to have Serbia as a puppet-state. It is very funny how the Serbian Deputy-PM is speaking only about the importance of a party etc. in Germany. NO OTHER politician world-wide would speak in such way like a slave abouth a foreign country-without any respect for the own country and its interests. Turkey is EU-candidate since about 50 years. This is the Serbian fate.
