Serbia has introduced the trade agreement with the EU, the EU has done this not. The result is the terrible trade deficit for Serbia with the EU due to useless imports of yogurts and apples to a country with once great agriculture. There is no way for Serbia to become a EU-member, there are NO close freinds of Serbia in any country. The EU is not demanding from Serbia a formal recognition of Kosovo as independent state, but the EU is demanding this in the legal meaning: to accept the admission of Kosovo to the UN, the echange of embasies also with other titles (UK has High Commissions in the Commonwealth-countries as embassies), the acceptance of the frontier, the acceptance of the citizenship etc etc.. If Serbian top-politicians are speaking about the further contacts on politicak level it is the first step of recognition. There are no common points with the former German-German affairs. It was quite the opposite. ALL agreements were preperad over years by experst. West-Germany never has sent like Serbia representatives from his Forein Office, only from the Home Office or Office of the PM. It was visible, that East German-afffairs were only internal affairs. West-Germany NEVER has accepted East-German diplomas (political content of subjects) and NEVER issues freom local catasdres were exchanged. The questions of property were never resolved. Serbia is giving away the valuables for ZERO.

Serbia will not survive without people from Afganistan, Pakistan, Africa. I can already notice them on the streets, but gypsies are taking over whole areas. Knowing mentality of people here in Serbia there will be probably racist riots in the future.

If Serbia really wanted to make German heads spin, Serbian Customs should return a shipment of Audis from Germany with a letter stating the vehicles are inadmissible to Serbia as they don't meet Serbian safety standards :)

True Serbian leadership here! Lets cut off our hands so when they present theirs in an attempt to handshake, they will look foolish.

Why does Serbia want to even engage with the West anymore? Germans, English, the U.S. Does Serbia think these powers have any interest in Serbias concerns or interests? heres a little news, no they don't! Deal with countries that promote a more friendly attitude, welcome them trather than those that bonbed, and killed and maimed your citizens. For petes sake, who the hell is running Serbia ? Soros?

All these brave Serbian here seems to learn from our dictator Hoxha that said that Albania can defend itself both by NATO and Warsaw Treaty. Fortunately, it is a past time for Albania. dori tirana
Hahaha, yes Dori, now Albania, and Albanian inhabited Kosovo, cannot defend itself without NATO. Funny how relatively fast, in political history, things change. Wonder what the Balkans will look like in 50, or 100 years? Will there even be any Serbs and Albanians living there, or will it all be Turks, Afghans, Pakistanis, and so on, from Islamic countries - while the native peoples of the Balkans all moved to Scandinavia, or Chicago? I guess only the prophet knows for sure. But then who is the real prophet? Boy, all of this gets very complicated.

Adopting EU standards in the economic arena is to Serbia's benefit whether it actually ever becomes a full member or not.Serbia may live well enough- maybe never as well as Switzerland or Norway which are not EU members- but if hanging on to the deed to Kosovo is more important then so be it but it should be left up to the people of Serbis in a referendum to decide when the time comes.I think it is obvious by now that Serbia will never be voted in because just one veto by Croatia or Germany would suffice unless it will recognize Kosovo.

This is the statement I've posted on B92 about 2 months ago:

You're hiding behind your little finger:
EU does not request Serbia to recognize independent KiM, but
all countries have to agree for a new country to join the union.
Germany, France and the UK already said that they will not vote in favor of Serbia joining up without recognition of independent KiM.
I suppose same will be true for Holland, Croatia and others.
The road to European integration is a dead end road !
Only Kostunica is honest enough to say that clearly !

Any comment, comm. Parrison, Bganon or other usual Otpor commentors like ecoman?

So, Serbia's decided to forget joining the WTO?

Their Austrian counterparts were equally disengaged from reality a century ago. Funny how German ultimatums look tough but never go in their favor :)

Along the same lines as what EU Dude said, I wonder what France is thinking about Germany's behaviour lately...

The painful reality is that everybody seems to be pushing for their agenda but no progress is made. I can't comment whether the Germans are losing it or not. But for sure they have a lot of influence when it comes to decision making. The stubborn Serbian policies and their unjust constitution is blocking Kosovo progress. Courtesy of good neighbourly relations.

That statement is based on the premise that said German conditions were based in reality in the first place. Getting to big for one's boots? I wonder if their european partners are getting worried by this 'old' german behavior. Bringing back bad historical memories no doubt.

Am enjoying watching these Germans loosing their heads in public. Quite the edifying spectacle!
