Nenad gets "thumbs down" for stating fact? He is not one who stated that "Russia is Serbian partner" - that was Zoran. How is Nenad's comment "not recommended"?! Other guy's comment should be "thumbs down" - he is one who did not read text of Nenad's comment carefully.

Full moom over Balkans right now???

Nenad, hate to break it to you but Serbia is not a "partner" in anything to Russia.

That was Zoran who asserted this, not I. My responses to him are preceded by arrows.

Russia is Serbia's energy partner. The only country in Europe that can guarantee a reliable supply to Serbia.

Nenad, hate to break it to you but Serbia is not a "partner" in anything to Russia. NIS would have been 50-50 if it were.
Also like so many others have you looked at the South stream project???
It flows through several countries not Russia-Serbia-rest of the world.
And supplies a handful of countries in southeast Europe. For those of you that think you have a noose around the neck of Europe need to rethink your strategy. You will receive some compensation which will be filtered through the 51/49 split. At most you will receive a good deal on the price the avg Serb pays for gas, but won't that be limited to the cities? Does not the bulk of Serbia still heat with wood or coal?

"The option that says Serbia's state goal is EU membership needs to be removed from the agenda.[...] the DSS leader concluded."

The DSS leader has the support of Kosovo on that. Hopefully Serbs listen to him and they don't get Serbia to become an EU member and cause trouble for Kosovo.

Zoran, Kostunica is a ghost now, and nobody cares what he says. Serbia will still try for EU, but only for right number of Scooby Snacks (probably two). A few years ago, it would be just one :)

What kind of a recovery...The type we are witnessing in Greece, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Ireland at the moment? >> No. I’m talking about a broad recovery that transcends economics – something that, to varying extents, all countries must target, and that includes a large environmental component.

Russia is Serbia's energy partner. The only country in Europe that can guarantee a reliable supply to Serbia. >> Russia provides energy to lots of countries, including Ukraine.

China is investing in building Belgrade's second bridge over the Danube… China has a highly developed manufacturing industry. >> Great, one bridge.

India is looking to build an I.T park in Indjia, employing around 15,000 to 20,000 people. India has a highly developed I.T industry. >> Looking to? I hope it plays out as well as you hope, and that Serbia gets this sort of investment 10 or 20 times over – and fast.

The EU is umm, investing in the theft of 15% of Serbia's territory. >> Can Serbs develop good post-war relations with Muslims, Croats and Albanians? Why not with the EU?

So yes…China's economy is shrinking. Do you expect it to continue into the double digit figure forever? >> The slowdown exceeds expectations and is prompting concern amongst the Chinese themselves. China relies heavily on export markets in Europe and NA, where economies are rapidly shrinking.

blocking Kosovo from developing into a fully-recognized state wouldn't do much to help Serbia's recovery...

What kind of a recovery are we discussing here? The type we are witnessing in Greece, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Ireland at the moment? LOL!

Russia is Serbia's energy partner. The only country in Europe that can guarantee a reliable supply to Serbia.

China is investing in building Belgrade's second bridge over the Danube. Long overdue. China has a highly developed manufacturing industry.

India is looking to build an I.T park in Indjia, employing around 15,000 to 20,000 people. India has a highly developed I.T industry.

The EU is umm, investing in the theft of 15% of Serbia's territory.

So yes, as expected, China's economy is shrinking. Do you expect it to continue into the double digit figure forever? Instead of 10% what are we looking at? 8% growth?

BELGRADE -- Opposition DSS leader Vojislav Koštunica says Serbia's new government "has given up on the detrimental policy" that membership in the EU "has no alternative".

No, they never hat this policy. It was only Kostunica DSS who never misses to mention the anti-EU policy of DSS in each and every statement.
(Comm. Parrisson, 13 September 2012 14:15)

Comm. Parrisson, do you like EU policy toward Serbia?

Easy for Kostunica to sit on the sidelines and preach about the wisdom of neutrality. I would ask what Serbs expect to see from such a course. I guess one benefit would be less pressure to recognize Kosovo, but blocking Kosovo from developing into a fully-recognized state wouldn't do much to help Serbia's recovery, and anyway, that would be something of a pyrrhic victory, given that Albanians would take quasi independence over Serbian sovereignty anyday.

Obviously, there would be hope, too, of a BRICS rescue, but the evidence for that outcome seems pretty murky. What has China done for N Korea, or Russia for Iran? What poor country has India raised up to the level of prosperity? And what could such countries do when their economies are bogged down because their main export customers are hit with recession or worse? China's growth is already slowing, and I never see anything about a Russian Tiger in the news.

Serbia is in a tough place, and some could argue that she is damned if she does, damned if she doesn't.

Questioner

pre 11 godina

Asked whether his party will continue to insist on abandonment of EU integrations if the Serbian president offers a consensus solution regarding Kosovo, Koštunica said that the DSS "undoubtedly will not back down from our position that political neutrality is the best solution for Serbia".

And what the majority of Serbian people think about this position you could see on the results of the DSS during the last elections.

I do agree with Kostunica here. He seems to be on the mark. So far so good with this new government but we still need to watch closely. They seem to be restoring Serbia's backbone and it's nice to hear the constitutional court having a say over the agreements with Pristina.

So it's time to build stronger ties with Russia, China, India and others. Sure, tell the EU and occupiers what they want to hear but at the same time delay their ultimatums as much as possible. They will be history soon enough.

Serbia finally seems to be on the right track. Thank God the DS and their sell-outs out of the picture. Jeremic should leave that rotting party when he gets a chance.
