Albania is not asking for loans from IMF as Serbia. Albania is still able to obtain commercial loans. Albanian GDP is growing to 2.3% this year when the entire Balkans is in recessin. Albanian unpemployemt rate in summer times drops to less than 13% while in Serbia is over 30%. Albania has lower crime rate than the avergae of EU.

So we are doing pretty fine thanks. We wish you Serbs to reach same level as soon as possible.

However, we do have some political probolems with an old man gone totally out of kilter but that shall be adressed in due time as forseen from our constitution.

Ian UK,

I hope when Scotland leaves the UK, Serbia and Russia will be the first and second country to recognize Scottish Independence.

Yep, definitely begging these charity cases. Sarajevo is begging Banja Luka for their money while Pristina is getting charity money from the west.
Zagreb, well, they don't have enough for themselves let alone anyone else.
(Peggy, 12 September 2012 11:33) Peggy you have it wrong Banana Luka is begging Belgrad for money but they told Dodo the kitty is all dried up any way he supported loser side. Just the other day Dodo said to abandon Serbs south of Mirtovica river. So the money Belgrade spends to help Serbs in Kosovo and pays princes Preshtinas international debts. Can go to his fantasy on life support the imaginary ghost entity Srpska aka Greater warmongering evil Serbia fantasy in the country of Bosnia. SJ I never knew Serbs made company's you must be mistaken they just steal http://english.blic.rs/Economy/8032/Croatian-companies-shall-sue-Serbia-if-it-sells-their-property other country's companies. So your point is mute but nice try. As for dividing Croatia in economic regions it is for the EU dividing poorer regions from the richer. So the poorer get more EU development money it is done in every EU country. So Serbia should do good when it joins the EU the poorest Croatian region is more wealthy then Serbia.

Quite funny coming from an albanian. How is Albania getting on with reforms and dealing with organized crime these days?

As I have said before too many Croats like you have eyes bigger than their stomachs. It always what you’re owned but never what your lot stole and sold off. For example there are many hotels on the Dalmatian coats that were owned by Serbian industry and these have been sold off to international companies without compensation so I would not hold my breath over Croatia getting 1 billion Euros.

You may have noticed that Milanovic has already started the break up of Croatia as he has it now into two entities such as Zagreb/Slavonia and Dalmatian Coast regions. Next step is a further break down into several regions.

Russian petrol dollars will not be enough to bail out Serbia. This bancrupt and underdeveloped country will need the IMF and World Bank plus many years to reach any resonable standrda of living. With uneployment going to 30+% among youngs over 50% Serbia needs serious money to survive. They managed with the help of the previously arranged instant loans from IMF to survivie the summer but not they need new and bigger loans.

Putin looks like he would rather be partying with Berlusconi than sitting so uncomfortably with Nikolic by the looks of this picture. The 2 billion in trade between Russia and Serbia is peanuts. Why is Serbia not able to produce products the Russian consumer buys? The Russians buy 100 billion worth of goods from Germany and much more than that from EU countries so maybe Nikolic can ask Putin to do a TV commercial on behalf of Serbian goods.I really like Putin and a lot of Serbs I have met are very intelligent people but the ones who talk about aligning with Russia and China dont understand economics in the fact that the governments of China or Russia cant force a Chinese or Russian consumer to pay his hard earned money for a Yugo instead of a Volkswagen .

The statement pointed to a number of mutually useful projects - between 2003 and 2011 the Russian investments in the Serbian economy surpassed USD 1.5 billion - and very close ties in the energy sector, with Russian Gazprom Neft, which owns 51 percent of shares of NIS, and Lukoil as key players. Russia payed 60% less then the true of value the NIS energy sector that Russia duped Serbia. The 1.5 billion is all they paid to Serbia for the energy sector. As for Lukoil ill gotten gains Serbia stole and fenced Croatian INA company assets. Now Serbia will be paying Croatia well over a billion euros for the stolen assets high interest and profits as the theft case makes its way in the courts http://www.nacional.hr/en/clanak/50512/inas-lawsuit-threatens-top-serbian-ranks .

"The Kremlin pres service said that trade and economic cooperation will be in the focus, noting that the scope of the two countries' trade in 2011 went up by 42 percent when compared to 2010, amounting over two billion dollars."

Good, and though Serbia's exports to Russia grow with a much higher rate than the imports, there's still a huge trade deficit between Russia and Serbia of about $2 billion.

I'm sure that Nikolic and Vucic do everything in the interest of Serbia and the problem is definitely there and only dialogue can solve it. Any cooperation with Russia is welcome and will help develop the economy of Serbia.
