Ned, never underestimate your enemies. Naive Serbs have been brainwashed and lulled ionto a false sense of security many times before and it has cost them dearly. Islamic terrorism is a very real threat and the Serbs are the last people on earth that should not take it very seriously. When someone who has a long track record of genocide and mass murder tells you that he is going to kill you you better BELIEVE HIM!

Bosniaks, they all have islamic first names, but their ancestral last names are Serbian, ending mostly in "vic". So, because their great grand daddies converted to islam from Orthodox Christian, we have a religious and cultural battle in Bosnia. This is just a small example of the horrendous vile the Ottoman empire brought to the Balkans. If the Turks never came, can you imagine what the Balkans would look like now? And how advanced they would be?
(ecoman, 5 September 2012 15:30)

I don't ever agree with you Ecoman, i will agree with you on this one! Had the 600 year ottoman occupation of the Balkans never happened most of these, if not all these divisions would have never had a chance to materialize. A Lot of political leaders thru-out the Balkans, have fed themselves to power from those dark page of Balkan history!!! Only to cause chaos upon the Balkan peoples. I am not saying it would have been perfect, but i do believe that all peoples of the Balkans would have had a much brighter history & future! You ever hear the saying, the Bear has finally left but his prints are all over the place. I think to a large extent an one way or the other, we all have suffered from those dark ages!I wonder sometimes, what if the Balkans had a leader that "truly" had all of the Balkans peoples interest at heart. I tell you what I think, UNMATCHABLE & UNTOUCHABLE!

I always said hercegovina to croatia , rs to serbia , and bosniak should have their own country with the sandzak part since it doesn`t connect with the bosniak part an agreement with serbia would be needed but that`d be plain fair and for the sake of permanent peace since serbia would take rs that would be an ideal solution but bosnia is the reason why europe and us are so contra of redrawing the western balkan borders , they fear of an islamic republik within eu (even though albanians are muslim as well but they`re much liberal and don`t really care much about religion while bosniaks seem to be much more affected to it ) otherwise the solution would have been made years ago

Too bad that the western balkan leaders can not decide on their own through meetings and rational thinking about these issues without eu and us interference :\

Sucks to be a country recovering from war. Almost no one is ever happy, except for politicians like Ceric and Dodik, who cash in on people's dissatisfaction and inability to help themselves. Anyway, barring some wider European catastrophe that completely absorbs the resources of EU member states, Dayton is going no where. Sarajevo, Mostar and Banja Luka will be forced to continue sharing the very disunited state of BiH. There's a long, painful road ahead for the Western Balkans, especially given the state of the EU economy.

Bosnjak is someone from Bosnia
What are Muslims from Belgrade/Sandzak/Hercegovina/Montnegro/Kosovo?
All people from Bosnia are the same: Orthodox/Catholic/Muslim=Serbs of 3 religions.
The same for the other regions I mentioned.

p.s.
Genocide never happened if it did then Bosnia would have 0% Muslims and that is clearly not the case here!
Genocide: WW2/Rwanda/Latin American Indians(16th C)/Armenian's in turkey etc.

Ending Dayton does not mean that the Moslems will control Bosnia.

If Dayton goes, then the future of Bosnia and Hecegovina must be decided by its people and not by foreigners in Washington, London and Berlin.

Following the mass migration of Bosnian Moslems into western countries, the population of B-H is probably 50% Serbian, 40% Moslem, and 10% Croat.

In a free and democratic vote, B-H will be voted out of existence. Serbs will want to join Serbia, Croats will join Croatia, and the Moslems will have their little paradise in central B-H.

If the Moslems are given Tuzla, Sarajevo and Mostar and the port of Neum on the Adriatic, then they will have a chance of a prosperous future. My guess is that the Moslem Bihac pocket would vote to join Croatia.

There is no such thing as a 'Bosniak' - they are just Serbs subscribing to a different religion.

As John Lennon said in "Imagine"

- and no religion too.

It is ironic that different areas base their existence on different religions.

Only one could possibly be right- and in practice none are.

I think Dayton should be scrapped as well. Serbs hold the rights to at least 66% of Bosnian land and they need to take it back. Dayton was an anti Serbian dictate, giving the muslims areas which were historically Serbian. As for this muslim Ceric he should be in prison.

I hate when religious figures talk about politics. you should mind your business with people walking on a water or not... drink alcohol or not.. or as in Islamic and Jewish orthodox culture how to make women’s life a hell in order to reduce the likelihood that they would have sex... and bsh of that kind.

said that: yes Dayton is racist document that gave international legitimization to a genocide. But on the other hand Serbs in Bosnia are not guests- their political will must be respected too.

what the muslims want, and they call them bonsniaks are in fact converted muslim serbs, catholics and other people, infact there would be some turks and albanians here as well. Once this is realised, then this region can define itself, hence it would be serbian orthodox.

“All this is a reality that Bosniaks live in but on the other hand, Bosniaks today have the best opportunity to freely and decisively, with their own mind, without orders from Belgrade, Vienna, Istanbul, think about their own priorities, make a plan and start realizing it,” he explained.

So basically what he is saying is the Bosniaks should among themselves decide to scrap the Dayton plan. There were no mentions of Serbs or Croats in this statement, just simply that the entire constitutional make up of the country should be changed and its the Bosniaks who should dictate how the new constitution would be written.

This is still more of that false sense of entitlement that Bosniaks have that just because a communist dictator decided this would be 'Bosnia i Hercegovina' that somehow that republic is reserved for them only and if others don't like it 'they can just leave'. Bosniaks live under this myth that what is considered Bosnia today is some ancient and historically distinct entity and therefore needs to be preserved at all costs.

But you can't just tell half of your population (Serbs & Croats) which take up about 60% of the territory (RS + "Herceg Bosna") that if you don't like it 'you can just leave'. Its not practical and its anti democratic.

There is no doubt the Bosniaks suffered terrible loses of human life during the war in the 90's. But drop the b.s., the losses were because they fought for more land than they could ever live on.
