KiM is still legally a part of Serbia, just go and ask the UN.
(Zoran, 5 September 2012 10:46)

KiM declared independence in accordance with international law and UNSCR 1244 so KiM has no doubt (thanks to Vuk who clarified that with the ICJ) that is no longer legally a part of Serbia. But if you or anybody else have doubts, feel free to ask the UN, ICJ or God about it :)

LOL! You continue to demonstrate your ignorance. Montenegro is not Serbia, it has always been its own republic. KiM is still legally a part of Serbia, just go and ask the UN. Keep dreaming about Vojvodina, it is being cleaned up as we speak. Scotland and Wales will become a UN member in the near future. Karma coming back to the UK and EU.
(Zoran, 5 September 2012 10:46)

Kosovo is still legally apart of Serbia? Oh yeah? According to who? Because the UN has said no such thing. And UNSCR 1244 doesn't say so either.

Scotland could go either way, but if they do become independent one of the first things they'll do is recognise Kosovo. Wales become independent? Haha You obviosuly know nothing about Wales. I dare you to go to Wales and shout out in public that you support the independence of Wales or go to a Welsh pub says the same things. You'd be a very brave man. But if you like your face the way it is, I wouldn't recomend saying such things. The vast majority of Welsh are radically against independence.

That's likely, because after Montenegro left and Kosovo split off, there's not much left to disintegrate in Serbia. With a government like that which ignores autonomy, Vojvodina might be another candidate?

It is apparent that Serbia will be forced into one more blackmail. The truth of the matter is however that the EU doesnt represent an attractive option any more. At least not as attractive as it was a few years back. This makes me think that perhaps its not worth losing your national pride and betraying your people by just deleting part of your country in exchange of EU accession. Perhaps the future lies outside EU, perhaps national independence is more important than an office in Brussels.

Exactly. "Normalization of relations" never meant recognition. You can't expect Serbia to do what the existing EU members can't reach a consensus on :)

Nikolle, if Serbia isn't in Kosovo (even the NAME Kosovo is Serbian) then Kosovars sure have a funny country. So many Serbian monuments from HUNDREDS of years ago. You'd think Albanians or whatever you like to call yourself would have built your OWN monuments there... Unless, and this is just my educated guess, you MOVED to Kosovo from Albania and had an average of 6-9 kids per family in the last 60 years? I'm no rocket scientist, but does any of that ring a bell anyone??? Oh, lets not forget kicking out out as many Serbs as possible makes the process that much quicker. Lookup the meaning of Genocide please, now... does the shoe fit? I don't think a high priced propoganda news spinner is necessary for one to form an opinion on this one. A simple google search on Kosovo during the 60s, 70s, & 80s will show you exactly what was going in that place, and while you're at it... take a look from '97 to '98 to see why Serbia finally sent in the troops to restore order. Please, DONT take my word for it. Look it up yourself and YOU be the judge!

"I think he will feel bad that he was seen by the public as the person who was setting additional conditions," the PM asserted,

Ha ha ha. Dacic thinks he is smart and wants to put shame on Schulz. Dacic you and the serbs heard it loud and clear: No Kosovo recognition,no EU for Serbia. Now twist it all you want.

Yep, and what the EU looks like then and what it looks like now could be two different things. I'd say we will have a couple of extra EU members that don't recognise "Kosova"*, such as Scotland and Wales...

Looks like the UK will disintegrate before Serbia ever does.
(Zoran, 4 September 2012 22:04)

Serbia already has disintegrated into a small country. And lets say if the UK were to dissolve for arguments sake, well lets just put it this way the SNP, Labour, Lib-Dems, Torries and Plaid Cymru are all supporters of Kosovo's independence.

But Serbia cannot join the EU unless all 27 (soon to be 28) members ratify her application for membership. Of course Serbia already knows this, she tells Brussels one thing and the people of Serbia another. EU membership is just a carrot on a stick for Serbia, you might think you're getting closer to it but reality you aren't.

On the other, just days ago some Slovak official was saying that they were ready to recognize Kosovo as soon as relations with Serbia were normalized

(Amer)

It means they are ready to recognize Kosovo on Serbia's approval.

Normal relations? - Albanians driving out Serbs, desecrating tombs and Churches, refusing to do business with Serbs, attacking their own people who do business with Serbs….. that is what is normal.

We know where Albania is, and is isn't in Kosovo.

On the other, just days ago some Slovak official was saying that they were ready to recognize Kosovo as soon as relations with Serbia were normalized, and this is what Fule is saying the EU is requiring. So, once all the EU countries recognize Kosovo individually, the EU will be in a position to make this a condition. What the EU demands now and what it will demand when conditions change may be two different things.
