Bam Bam, pay close attention. You claim that not all Ustasha sided with the Nazis. Where were these anti-Nazi Ustasha when the Nazis marched into Zagreb while throngs of Croats welcomed them with open arms and a ticker tape parade? I don't remember seeing or reading about any Croats protesting the arrival of the Germans. Did they choose to stay in their houses on that day? Regardless, the Ustasha killing machine appalled even the Nazis. Let us not forget that the Ustasha were the first to establish concentration camps for children. Must make you very proud Bam Bam. I would agree that the Chetniks were not angels - there are no angels in a civil war. But the Chetniks saved over 500 downed US airmen and were the 1st organized resistance group organized to fight the Nazis. And please don't tell me that Mihajlovich collaborated with the Germans. Hitler had a bounty out on Mihajlovich's head. Regarding your statement that Tito gave everything to the Serbs, please explain why he carved out of Serbia proper and gave autonomy to Vojvodina and Kosovo? In the case of the latter, he confiscated Serb-owned land after WWII and gave it to Albanians flooding over the border from Albania. There were a great many Serbs as well as Croats who supported Tito and the Partizans, but his biggest opposition came from the non-communist Serbs whose power base he tried to dilute with the tactics I mentioned above. History lesson over for today Bam Bam. Stick around, your education is far from over.

@njegos ..........Of course I'm on the side of the Ustase. But once again I have to educate you Serbs because not all Ustase sided with the NAZI's as you may believe. Some Ustase believed in the 3rd reich, some believed in a free an independent Croatia without German or Italian influence and some were there for relgious purposes. The Chetniks were exactly the same and please don't tell me that the Chetniks were angels. Tito being half Slovenian half Croat never did anything postive for the Croatian people. Why do you think the Serbs still to this day continue to polish and cry over his tomb in central Beograd.Tito gave the Serbs everything during YU. The Serbs cried in massess when the dictator passed away in 1980. We Croats threw a party thanking god that the evil dictator had perished.

Bam Bam, Do you read what you write? You trash the Chetniks as Nazi collaborators (a tactic frequently used by Croats to deflect attention away from the horrors of Ustasha barbarity) and you also denounce the Partizans. Well, my friend, Croats either sided with the Ustasha or the Partizans. There was no other entity they aligned themselves with in WWII. In either case, history shows they were on the wrong side. Let us not forget that Tito himself was a Croat. So Bam Bam, where did your family line up? On the side of the Nazi Ustasha or the Communist Partizans? I can't wait to hear.

@Peggy: My goodness, Chetniks are invited to march alongside with Anzacs once a year here in Australia and you compare them to Ustasha? The leader of Chetniks even got a medal from the US president. When did Pavelic get that?
Learn something valid before you post crap.

Peggy be careful before you open your mouth....Are you 'NOW' aware that the Australian Government has finally after years of lies from Serb Chetniks finally given them the boot from the ANZAC Parade. Never again will a Chetnik march in the parade - No Chetniks in 2013 parade. The Australian government has been given massive amounts of documentation aboout the Chetniks and the role they played in Bosnia 1941-1945 ( the Serb killing machine ). The only reason D.M got a medal was because the Yanks used him as a puppet not because he was some sort of hero. If you recieve a medal from the U.S, what that makes it something special. Pavelic recieved medals from Germany all the time..and guess what the Germans are the powerhouse in Europe today! War criminals like D.M who are executed aren't heroes. I never seen the U.S intervene when D.M was on trial in 1946 or stop he's execution. Peggy all I can say to you is this..is if you don't believe me please call 'Returned Services League' in Canberra or Veterans Affairs - I rest my case. the Serbs after all these years of neglect have been found out...

Oh your talking about the same chetniks that collaborated with both Nazi and Italian forces during ww2 amd fought both Partizan and Ustasa forces. Now Ustasa collaborated with them for a free Croatia. Whats there excuse? Also I could care less if they hold parades and got medals after WW2, I know my history and chetniks are no better IMO, same goes for Partizans that murdered 100,000 men, woman, and children in bleiburg(which was the biggest massacre in WW2 YUGO). One nations heroes is another nations enemy.

What the world thinks happened in WW2 Yugo has been twisted for decades, Tito lied, communists lied out of there teeth. Hell the Yugoslav doucmentary on Jasenovac shows videos and pictures of Auschwitz and Dachau and tries to pass is off as evidence of Jasenovac. Did these people not think that in the future people might still be watching and analyzing this. lol sloppy if you ask me considering Serbs still bring this up as an argument to Croatia's policies. And you wonder why Croatians question what really took place in ww2 when they have been lied too for 50 years on end.

Your comments are disgusting simple as.

The Ustasha does exist and to say that it does not is a lie.

To compare the Chetniks to the Ustasha is laughable. The Ustasha were with the nazis and murdered hundreds of thousands of innocent people, mostly Serbs in death camps. Please enlighten me, how many death camps did the Chetniks have in WW11?? I'll answer that for you, ZERO. You cannot in a million years compare the two groups. The Chetniks were resistance and the Ustasha were on the side of evil and a bunch of murdering criminals who have not paid for what they did, not by a long shot. Maybe you also need re-educating and learn the true history of WW11 particularly in Croatia.

Lazar my good friend, it's good to hear from you via the internet. Hope all is well with you. Regarding Josipovic's comments, they do demonstrate a departure from the 'old Croatian guard.' However, many are unaware that Josipovic is an attorney by profession and following the wars of the 90s he represented Gjoko Susak, a Canadian pizza business owner who returned to Croatia to participate in the war against the Serbs. Susak was known for his hard line Croat nationalistic views and was appointed by Tudjman to the position of Defense Minister (I believe). Following the war, he was being tried for war crimes, but subsequently died of cancer before the trial was completed. He was one of the most ardent anti-Serb Ustasha-leaning Croats to be found. So let us not kid ourselves about Josipovic's true feelings. Unfortunately, I believe his comments on Jasenovac are more politically motivated than they are humanitarian.

Okay first off what exactly is the Ustasa organization in 2012 ???????

If your talking about a small percentage of the youth population in Croatia then its no "organization" at all. These people are radicals that hold onto old school beliefs in Croatia and by no means support the opinions of the general population. Also by definition the Ustasa organization was a terrorist group movement aimed at a Independant Croatia. Now that Croatia has been liberated for many years, this type of thinking is fading into the wind. Im sure theres some nostalgia within some of the older generation but its something thats not really talked about ever. If there is a so called "Ustasa organization" then it must pail in comparison to the "Chetnik organization".

Come on, you have to give the man some credit for speaking out against Razum's outrageous statement. At least Josipovic has by his own comment acknowledged that these crimes did take place in his own country by his own people. I don't recall any other Croat president saying the same, please correct me if I am wrong. By making that statement he has placed himself in danger at the hands of the Ustasha organisation, I do agree however that the Ustasha should be outlawed and it should be made a criminal offence to deny that these crimes did take place. The US/NATO should also be ashamed to be supporters of such an evil and disgusting organisation. They are no different to the Ustasha as far as I am concerned and I see them in exactly the same light.

Absolutely right.

At the start of WW2 there were very little Croats in the Partisans, but like good turn coats…..
Tudjman was a good example. He was in the Ustashi, but when they were losing he joined the Partisans and followed Tito’s every order including executing his “former brothers in arms” at Bleiberg. Tito didn’t call Franjo his best pupil for nothing.

Lazar

Underdog, it goes without question that Croats did not care to be part of the opposition however. For almost the entire war the opposition was mainly Serbian. Even in the Partizans, they were overwhelmingly Serbian, asides in Dalmatia where the NDH did not have much presence because Italy was there. When Croats did join, it was in big numbers near the end of the war because they preferred a Croatia in Yugoslavia rather than a Croatia that basically doesn't exist in any shape or form.

The interesting thing is that the guy had the guts to say this. In the past he could have easily gone to jail or have been killed for that. These criminal ustashe and their offspring funded racist Tudjman to come to power. Croatians are very proud of their ustashe, their "iseljenik"/ex-patriarch community, which is very active, is basically the ustashe!

My goodness, Chetniks are invited to march alongside with Anzacs once a year here in Australia and you compare them to Ustasha? The leader of Chetniks even got a medal from the US president. When did Pavelic get that?

I am glad that Josipovic reacted however he only stated the obvious truth that was proven many times and recorded in world's archives. I Don't think this is a proof he is a decent man, he would prove that if he seriously tackled genocide denying in Croatia and made it punishable with a prison sentence, and explained to his people that "Operation Storm" was not a victory but a repetition of the WWII genocide.

It is good that you have stood up for the victims of Ustasha crimes of WW11 and condemned the outrageous remarks made by Razum denying that these crimes ever took place. We also must acknowledge that Croats opposed to the Ustasha were also victims of these evil crimes as well as Serbs Jews and Roma, not all Croats were Ustasha and for that those who were not and cought paid the price alongside the rest, this is a fact some people tend not to mention.

Croatia’s President Ivo Josipović is right to show concern where his country is going. It is better to lock up actif Ustashis and cry out loud yes we were guilty killing innocent people because off their origin and faith during WWII.
What happened in the recent Yougoslav civil war is caused by WWII.
Nobody was ever punished by Tito for crimes commited against serbians by croates, Bosniaks.

Quite surprising that a priest makes such a comment. He should know better!

I know that the Ustasha are very active, I also wonder why this vile organisation is not outlawed. Anyone who says they are proud of these vile criminals are destined for hell. They are nothing more than a criminal and murderous organisation who would not exist today if it wasn't for the fascist NATO organisation who of course turn a blind eye to their NAZI saluting pets. Josipovic has to be admired for his comments, I would be watching my back from now on if I were him. I just hope he's got like minded people watching his back for him.

Bam Bam

You are the fool and the one who needs educating. Your support for those murdering scum make you the same as them and you have nothing to be proud of. That kind will come to it's demise as all those kind of organisations do in the end. As so called Christians you should be bloody well ashamed of yourself.

If there is a so called "Ustasa organization" then it must pail in comparison to the "Chetnik organization".

Mirel your nationals and croats were in the same boat with hitler! Is commendable that Josipovic took the responsibility for the past and it will be even more appreciated if he will accept the responsibility for Storm too. As for you albanians, you never had the balls to take the responsibility for the past, even more you're continue this up to this date.
