The European Commission (EC) new report on Serbia's EU progress, which is to be presented in October, will not be as positive as the one in 2011.

Last year there were upcoming elections and the EC gave a more pleasurable report as a dangling carrot for Serbs to chase after in the hopes that Serbs would see that as a reason to elect the EU's Tadic puppet again. But now, the Serbs have elected Nikolic so the EC can put out the report that will continue to delay EU talks.

But this is a great thing for Serbia, because being part of the EU will only make Serbs slaves to the EU "masters", and they will always have to give more to receive less.

Well, the report on the EC, EU, and Euro zone will not be positive either for the next quarter. Brussels still maintains this holier than though attitude, as it sinks faster than corpse will cement shoes.

well that´s a problem for those inside the EU, who would like to see Serbia inside "their" borders...

but for Serbia, that´s no bigger problem actually.

Whilst I sympathise with the previous comment, the UN, EULEX and others are not seeking anything from Serbia, whereas Serbia is seeking EU membership. Let's be clear what is being offered here, a start date for talks. If, and I repeat, if this comes in 2013 it is likely that talks will be concluded around 2019/20. It took Slovenia and Croatia 7 years to close all the chapters and there's no reason to expect it to be any different for Serbia even without the issue of Kosovo. Add to this that there will be a further 2 year wait between the end of talks and an accession date and you are ten years into the future. From what I read on this site combined with recent election and opinion poll results, I don't sense that the people of Serbia want their government to make any concessions simply to move one tiny step forward in this seemingly endless process. Personally, I don't blame them for feeling this way.

I think that Serbia should do regular reports on the European Commission, on the United Nations, and on Ban Ki-moon, on EULEX, and KFOR, and Serbia’s report on these will not be positive.

I think that the Serbs in Northern Kosovo should have a repeat Referendum As Soon As Possible and to keep having them every few months.

A Website in most European Languages called EULEX in Kosovo Watch and NATO in Kosovo Watch should be commenced As Soon As Possible, and Cards with the Website are to be placed in all of Europe’s letterboxes, and if the Website is censored, then File a Genocide lawsuit against the European Commission.

"This is according to senior EC official who wished to stay anonymous. "

This persons should loose their job if they they are leaking this for personal reasons or as is more likely, it is sanctioned from above as unofficial 'official' information. It goes to show what a joke the EC is when it clamps down on hard on whistle blowers (Paul van Buitenen and others who have exposed the EC's budget audit mess and blind eye to rampant corruption and theft) but allows itself the luxury to leak at will.
