I have never said that Serbia was in a good position. I have always said that its economy has been destroyed by the west, but its potential is tremendous. Let’s look at all the other countries in the EU on a similar level as Serbia, Poland, Estonia, :Latvia, Lithuania, Czech, Slovak, Hungary, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Ireland and so it goes on then you have Romania and Bulgaria which are worse off than Serbia.
Today at worst the EU is dead and at best it will not be the EU we all know. The EU cannot keep subsidizing Kosovo as it bleeding about $1 billion per year on keeping the administration then on top of that maintaining the population so you tell me how is Kosovo going to survive when we all know that the EU will not allow the Albanians to seek work in the EU – if you can answer this to my satisfaction I’ll then admit that Kosovo is independent. These talks between Pristina and Belgrade are all about “normalization” so that there is free movement to allow the Albanians to look for work in Serbia proper.
But if you see Kosovo being able to stand on its own, please tell me.

Can anyone imagine Brussels taking on another country with its hand out for money?
The EU dream sold by the pro EU politicians in Belgrade is once in, everyone will have a money tree in their back yard.

What you say here is true, it is hard to believe EU is considering taking on another charity case like Serbia. With its daily mounting debt in Serbia, accession could be the nail in the coffin. But that is why they are talking about when talks will begin. Accession will be still years away and I am sure the hopes will be that both Brussels and Serbia will be stronger.
But it is nice to see you DO realize that Serbia is still a charity case and it has no capability of being the salvation of Kosovo.

Albanian reality? Now that's a good joke! The other one is demands for real tackling of corruption in Kosovo by America's incoming ambassador.

Serbia would have been already in the process since last year if it would have accept reality. If it continues to ignore that, it won't get anything any time soon, not even next year. That are the facts. So you better make the decision now. Accept reality or withdraw application.

iso, why not ask your Albanians to forget Kosovo, and go back to Albania? Wouldn't that be a more practical solution? Serbia has a long, and painful history in KiM, how can you ask it to forget its roots? What are the roots of the Albanians in KiM, some debated link between them and the extinct Illyrians? Give me a break. BTW, if Serbia did not spend money on it's citizens in the North of KiM, they would be in dire position, are you saying they can rely on Pristina, which has no funds, and through an Ahtisaari plan that no one pays attention too? Again, give me a break. You can maybe sell your junk to Nikolle, another Albanian propagandist that comes to Serbian web sites.

Ari Gold , if serbia had less people like u it would have been such a better place to live in , just look how many millions of euro serbia wastes in northern kosovo , while 10000 children in serbia are starving http://www.b92.net/eng/news/society-article.php?yyyy=2012&mm=07&dd=21&nav_id=81391

instead of throwing money to kosovo invest it in economy ffs nobody is going to give u millions just because u ask for it countries always want something in exchange for something does serbia has something to offer?
Forget about kosovo some churches are not gonna improve your life neither will they make serbia a stronger country after all they`re given some special status with the ahtisaari plan and u can visit them whenever u want as soon as serbia and kosovo normalize their relations I highly doubt anybody will hurt u just because u`r a serb because albanians will forget about the past and look forward

Wish peace to both parties

I agree with you.

Highlight Republika Srpska & Montenegro along with the rest and you got the actual map of Serbia. A compromise too considering Serbs controlled 75% of Bosnia in 93 and Croatia did what they did best by murdering Serbs and ethnically cleansing them from Republika Srpska Krajina.

So even with that map + Republika Srpska & Montenegro it still isn't a fair deal for Serbs but for the sake of peace we will live with it.

F the EU. Serbian integration and the liberation of Kosovo i Metohija or we are wiped off the map completely by our hostile neighbors surrounding us.

The real question is will the EU survive until next summer? Regardless even if it does remain it will not be the EU we know today as it will be much weaker all round. For anyone to discuss serious accession talks in this economic climate they are only blowing hot air to entertain the masses. Can anyone imagine Brussels taking on another country with its hand out for money?
The EU dream sold by the pro EU politicians in Belgrade is once in, everyone will have a money tree in their back yard.
The latest data is that the EU is in deeper recession and Germany is on the border as its production figures continue to fall since May as a result of the Chinese slowdown and US. Meanwhile in the US they are warming up the presses for another round of stimulus money or in laymen’s terms digging the hole a little deeper.

I agree with a previous commentator here, put the KiM issue on the back burner. Drag it out to one slow meeting with Pristina at a time, with months and months in between. Avoid making any concrete decisions, but pretend that we want to get along and make progress. In the mean time, concentrate on improving the Serbian economy. Serbia can be at a much greater advantage in future dialogue with the EU, with a stronger economy. We are now in a position of weakness, and the West only understands money. Things will change in the EU - restructuring, maybe even countries leaving the Union, and or the Euro zone, so Serbia should not make any decisions now, that she would one day regret. KiM is not going anywhere, it will be there in the future. No need to rush now. Let the Albanians enjoy their little hand out dependent State of depression.

Anything to cheer us up. Serbia has been in a state of depression for 20 years. Time to break out of it and get going again. Easier said than done, but cheer up everyone. All is not lost. We must concentrate on the economy and standard of living for all our citizens. Kosovo needs to be put on the backburner for a while.

Not a problem, that map is a lot more important than the back ground...The way Bulgaria, Romania & Greece are living in the EU should give any rational person enough reasons not to ever join. Only lunatics and extremists in the Balkans think EU integration is a good idea. Funny, I get why the politicians support it but I cannot for the life of me see what a average person finds appealing of entering this cancerous union that is hurting the peoples of Europe.

That map right there is what's most important. Kosovo i Metohija is what matters most. The Monasteries & Churches in Kosovo i Metohija are the oldest buildings on that land. They are proof it was and forever is apart of Serbia.

If we give up Kosovo i Metohija we allow our country to be furthered dismembered, leave the 100,000 indigenous Serbs in the holy land without any protection from radical Islamists as well as lose the billions of dollars in mineral wealth buried in our Christian holy land.

The EU is worthless, Kosovo i Metohija is a matter of life & death and its liberation is a condition for the survival of our nation.

I guess he has to justify job by saying things like this. It is not as if he is responsible for any dates being missed. Is the return of Serbia to regional meetings enough for the Germans not to block a date for the start of talks before the end of 2012? It's hard to believe, but at least the german economy is starting to falter. The end of the party is in sight.
