Prosinečki quits as Red Star FC coach

Croatian football expert Robert Prosinečki decided on Monday to resign as coach of the Belgrade-based Red Star football club.

Balkan football is dying on its arse. The only real option is to bring back the old Jugoslav league in some format to encourage real competition, investment in youth and facilities and increase crowds.

Not sure the police would cope though!

Wow that's a slap in the face of red star fans..... what did you expect from him .. join a real champion team PARTIZAN BEOGRAD. NAPRED CRNO-BELI .....

Sad really, but he was sick of the politicisation and corruption in the boardroom, but when told that they wouldn't be investing in new players / facilities, or even to improve the contracts of some of the players he decided to call it quits.

Serbian football is just in such a bad state at the moment and getting worse all the time..

Right now when we have the generation of footballers who won everything now at coaching age - we choose not to use their knowledge and go backwards.
