The number of Serbian citizens seeking asylum in Germany reached 324 in July, reads a statement by the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees.
"Serb citizens" are not necessarily ethnically Serb. The asylum seeking is one of the biggest scams there are. Ask any Australian, they got boatloads of these people trying to get to scramble for the welfare teat.
The majority of asylum seekers from Serbia (and other Balkans countries) are Roma. They historically move around and will continue to do so. There is little that Nikolic can do to stop this although that is not to say that he won't try to improve living conditions for the majority of Serbs over the next four years. For him or anyone else to focus too much energy on trying to persuade Roma to stay in his country and not go abroad and claim asylum would be pointless. He probably thinks "good riddance" provided that Serbia remains on the Schengen White List.

Hey Smarty-Pants, ever thought about putting the number of asylum seekers in relation to the number of citizens? Kosovo is #9, with less than 2 millions of citizens(including the estimated 200,000-300,000 ones who are already turned their back on the dream state of Kosovo some time ago)?
I thought Serbia would do everything to take care of Albanians in Kosova, as if they lived in Germany??? At the same time their own citizens can't wait to get out of the greatest place called Serbia. So Mr. Nikolic, forget about Albanians in Kosova and their living conditions, what are you going to do to rebuild and stable your own country economically?

If it was, you would of done it in a heart beat long time ago.
If Russia was strong enough to support Serbia they would of done it.
Fact of the matter is, they are not. It's time for Mr. Nikolic to do the right thing. Enough with the threats towards your neighbors. Attract foreign investors, build up your economy. Kosova is not in your best interest we all know that. Kosova's deal is dead and gone. Personally, I don't give a damn how badly Serbia damaging itself. So far you haven't done a thing to prevent Dinar from falling. Unemployment rising, increase of asylum is significant.
