According to Blic, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Suzana Grubješić and EU Integration Office Director Milan Pajević are together working on the model.

Ah yes the minister of European Integration and the EU integration office working together. Look nothing about this government is legitimate. In fact nothing about Serbia's entire institutional set up is legitimate and only the Diaspora has the power to send all these treasonous bastards into a prison where they belong.

Diaspora needs to organize into a united front and things would rather change fast in the Balkans. Every one of them from Tadic to Nikolic are all criminals who need to be arrested for breaking the Serbian constitution.

To Albanians, don't look to organ extractors and Jihadists as your heroes, they should be your country's (Serbia) political elite that is intent on severing any control over its holy southern province.

In order for Serbia to survive the Diaspora must (forcefully if necessary) take control of country. The political elite is incompetent and have proven to be cancerous. Serbia must cut off the cancer before it can deal with parasites (Thaci, Milo Djukanovic ect.)

Wrong move -.-
Talks are not necessary..
this is only wasted time and effort, I am curious if these people of the Serbian government will recognize independent Kosovo in the near future, I hope they are smarter then doing such a move.

Well I agree, but they have to realize that if we do that we did not accept them as a state of Kosovo but they remain for us only province.

Great job mr Nikolic! Perhaps there should be a footnote on Serbias sign that states "the participation of the Serbian officials in the international meetings did not mean that Serbia recognized Kosovo’s independence"

The model will have Serbia participate with a footnote: Serbia*

The footnote will say: "by participating in this meeting Serbia in no way recognizes Kosovo". The diplomats who walked away embarrassed previously will stay there embarrassed.

Another daily rhetoric in Balkan politics where we hear more from the press than appropriate government officials. Neither side is going to yield. This is just hot air. Welcome to the frozen conflict, Cyprus II.

It is high time that both sides discounts and to summon mind, the situation is critical and should begin as soon as negotiations and find a common interest, because it serves no quarrel leads, one must turn to developing countries and their prosperity.

Come on, is anybody really surprised by this?
This government will be weaker on the subject of Kosovo due to the fact that the internationals (west) perceive it as being weak, inexperienced in negotiations and at the beginning of its mandate. At the very 'best' we can expect the government to consolidate the previous government position, but even that doesn't look likely. The government has agreed to climb down on certain issues related to Kosovo, that is clear. How much is unclear.

This 'model' had actually been considered by Tadic's negotiation team, but they decided to reject it, as much for political reasons as ideological.

Twindales you are attaching too much importance to this in more ways than one. Above all a government can not be judged by one issue, in other words just because it is willing to back down on some issues regarding to Kosovo does not mean that the country cannot be dragged down into the gutter in other areas. To name just one topic will monopolists like Miskovic be given more power behind the scenes? Will Serbia be economically mismanaged with increases in taxation at the same time as raising interest rates, leading to a longer term recession?

I told you so! Slowly but surely, Serbia is finally coming to terms with the fact that Kosova does really exist & is a reality.. Also, in the near future 1- 3 years maybe even sooner with the pace Nikolic is at , Serbia will recognize Kosova & will also establish diplomatic relations with her also!! There simly is no other way!!! Freedom my freinds can only be paid for with the currency of blood! And the Albanians, as the entire world knows full well, have paid this price for freedom with a tremendous amout of blood!
P.s. By the way has anyone seen or heard from, Ecoman?

In fact, just about everything she said is turning out to be true and everything Stefanovic said is turning out to be false.

Absolutely sensible decision. We need to participate and be able to lobby for interests of Serbia and for international community to put a stop to illegal occupation of Kosovo and Metohija and ongoing ethnic cleansing and violence towards the Serbs, perpetrated by k-albanians.

Dont worry, Serb politicians change the constitution and the name of the country like cheap underwear.

As for the diaspora changing anything... It is like the Amish in the US changing Swiss laws today, simply ridiculous.

PS: why should any minority in Serbia live with criminal ruling classes?

Jovan

there is no need to change the current solution. after all the current government should not make decisions that are against serbian national interests. whether with or without asterisk, I don´t care but they should make it VERY clear that there is no such thing like "kosovaah" - otherwise the current serbian government could face its end sooner than they expect.

Thank goodness sense prevails!! The region will hopefully be able to move forward, Serbia will get a date for accession talks to start. Investment will begin to roll into the region improving job prospects, and overall income of the ordinary citizens will improve. I was in Serbia election day and was a little disapointed Nickolic had won I must admit. But you know what - actions speak louder than words and if things improve the way they are moving over the next few weeks. I remain very positive indeed about Serbia's long term future.

I think a Proper Designation could be used, where there was no reference to the current Footnote, which is being used at present.

The term South Kosovo would be used to designate the 67 % of Kosovo that has been reserved for Albanian Autonomous rule of those Areas Designated by the Serbian Parliament in Consultation with the Kosovo Albanians, which will be 67 % of Kosovo.

The rest of Kosovo should also be Present at whatever meetings that they wish to or need to attend, and this 33 % of Kosovo under Non Albanian rule should be Represented as North Kosovo, rather than being Represented by Serbia, and therefore People might forget that there is a Legal North Kosovo.

The term Kosova must not be allowed as it denotes that it was Territory that was not owned by the Country of Serbia, and it appears that Serbia stole ‘Kosova’ from ‘Kosovars’.

The Official names of the two different Areas of Kosovo and Metohija, would be North Kosovo and Metohija, and South Kosovo and Metohija.

The entire Province of Kosovo will be Officially called Kosovo and Metohija, but as far as Representation at meetings, then North Kosovo and South Kosovo will be sufficient.

If this model or something similar will be used, then the Serbian Parliament will have pass Legislation for this.

Slowly but surely, Serbia will come to terms to also recognize Kosova. Nikolic and his administration are very easy to manipulate. Signs have been shown. Tadic was much smarter and flexible. Nikolic isn't, So I know this will hurt Serbians pretty badly. But, deal with it since you Serbians elected him for different reasons, such as getting Kosova back. Working to promote a "Greater Serbia". Those dreams are definitely over, they have been long ago. You just needed someone who you think is a Serbian patriot, or even better as you prefer them Nationalist to tell you that Kosova's deal has been done long ago.
Like I have told ARI and PEGGY before. Nikolic and his administration will be the first one to work with Kosova, not against it. Not because they want to. They simply do not have any other option. I know ARI is all excited and probably "horny" over Jeremic becoming the new UNGA leader. He won't be able to do anything about it. He has been told and warned already about Kosova. We are in 2012, the old Serbian propaganda is dead and gone.
