Every move, the central government in Sarajevo goes against cooperation with Serbia, because they are still in the trenches! Of course, political!

Antun

pre 11 godina

The difference between RS and every other entity/state/region or whatever other else you like to call it is that it was founded upon ethnic cleansing. Before RS was founded Serbs were not in the majority. But after 1995 more than 96% of the population were Serbs because every other ethnic group was forced out or murdered. Hence that is why God will never allow it become independent or unify with Serbia.

Ron

I agree. RS is not a state but a region of a state (Bosnia).
But then: Kosovo is not a state, but a region of a state (Serbia).

I hope Federation will not conduct double standards and oppose Kosovo 'independence' loud and clear!

Leo

In the past two thousand years or more, many different states have come and gone and come again on the geographical territory currently known as "Bosnia". Three separate nations exist today on this territory. The Moslems and Serbs have separate states; the Croats more or less. All else is empty rhetoric.

The United States is a federation just like the Russian Federation is a federation. The unit of participation in the United States is statehood. California is a state in the United States of America. It is run by a governor and has its own flag, which was once advanced as a symbol of an independent country. When California elected to become a state, there were many who wanted to become an independent country.

Bosnia today is what Yugoslavia was before its break up. Half hearted attempts to keep it together. Saying one think in public but knowing deep down inside where its heading. Bosnia has been rebuilt and there is conflict fatigue. Should RS decide to become independent some countries would object and refuse to recognize, just like Kosovo. However, I say like the albanians are saying. It's better to be semi independent then not being independent at all. RS is wearing the muslims out. The croats have already accepted RS and eager for the same in their part of Bonsia. After all, it is the reality on the ground, just like Kosovo.

So what? All that applies, for example, to California, and still it's only an entity within the United States. Same goes for provinces in Germany or Austria.
(Comm. 'A few hundred jihadis'? It goes far deeper than that if you consider the support network, the quiet converts who don't advertize and others who have benefited from gulf arab largesse in a messed up country which makes Bosnia so ripe. BTW, the Islamic Declaration was published in 1991 (again) and its fans in the SDA are still there, liberals like Cengic and co. It's a pity that Abdic stood down for Izetbegovic, he was the only man even the serbs, croats and others would have quite happily negotiated with.

When are you un-educated peasants going to realise that the way the federation and RS are currently operating is well below E.U standards, it's a farce, it's a joke. Young educated citizens of the region are seeking employment and housing elsewhere. Why would anyone want to invest in a such a failed state where a war could break out again at any stage. BiH has always been a conservative state where religion dominates evry day life. The mentality of the people of BiH amazes me. Why not sit down and come to an agreement which would carve the region as per populated area's. The only area which would involve shared control would be the port access to the Dalmatian coast. Can the "Balkan Monkeys'" ever get it right...!

Bosnian party tells Serbian speaker "RS is no state"

As if the M-C Fed could function financially without Brussels and gulf arab money and has been on the verge of bankruptcy twice so far. Unlike the RS, it may not be a state, but at least it functions, despite the usual problems that plague the region.

Ari Gold: I do not know how often you have been to Bosnia or how many Bosniaks you know, but not one of the many hundreds that I have met during my ten years in BiH is remotely interested in the Sharia society to which you refer. They are quite happy to be 'Western' muslims drinking their beer, wearing their short skirts (that's the ladies not the men) and having sex outside of marriage. None of my friends goes to a mosque except if a friend is getting married. The apocolytic Sharia view of BiH has been promulgated for years based on a 40 year old tract written by Alija Izetbegovic and continues solely to garner votes of those who are happy to believe anything spoken by their political representatives. Yes there are a few hundred Wahhabists living in BiH but then there are a similar number living in Serbia where they have a similar lack of influence over Government policy as in Sarajevo. By all means be supportive of your Serb brethen in the RS but this jihadist nonsense takes no-one anyone further forward.

Serbia wanted to create a "republika srpska" in Croatia but they failed. Alija Izetbegovic should not have signed the agreement that led to a divided Bosnia. Bosniaks should have fight until the last man standing and not divied Bosnia.
Bosnia is a member of the UN and all international institutions but BiH does not function as a state and even Sweden's foreign minister have said so many times. Go to Belgrade and ask if you (Bosniaks) can get Sandzak...You get thrown out with the head first.
(Bridge, 14 August 2012 12:09)

No, actually Serbia did create a Republika Srpska (although not create it was just the free will of the people living there) in Krajina and it was a success for many years. However, due to Germany's nostalgic alliance with the Nazi State of Croatia, it felt a responsibility to step in for its most loyal WWII ally and fight its battles for them.

We all know Serbia's weaker neighbors hate facing Serbs alone so they have others to do it for them because Serbia always stuck its fingers in the eyes of evil empires while our weak and feeble neighbors like cowards bowed down.

And Sandzak? Oh you mean Raska..yeah well here's the thing 'Sandzak' does not even border Bosnia, it borders Republika Srpska so how would that work? It does not border the Serbs in central Bosnia who converted to Islam for a modest tax break.....

I agree Republika Srpksa is no state. It is de-facto Western Serbia. In fact, RS is no state but it is as much of a state as Bosnia itself is.

Bosnia has existed for hundreds of years? As a region yes. As a distinct people and nation, absolutely not.

The Islamic extremists in Sarajevo want two things they cannot have. They want A. an Islamic, Bosniak dominated state and B. Bosnia to remain in its current borders.

This cannot work because they simply do not have the demographic majority in this current 'state' to create the kind of Sharia society they wish for. They would just love it if the Serbs & Croats moved out so they can keep all this land for their Mosques and use the empty space to fill it with immigrants from Saudi Arabia and other places from the Middle East.

Well it ain't gonna happen. You will get your Muslim state but it wont be at the expense of us Serbs. Not of the Croats there either. Your instance of creating this state has made two long time enemies the Serbs & the Croats allies in Bosnia. That's how insane your project is.

Its a pity too. Bosnia should have never left Yugoslavia. I feel more closer to Bosniaks than I do to Croats but hey, when you push a dog into a corner he's going to bite.

As if the M-C Fed could function financially without Brussels and gulf arab money and has been on the verge of bankruptcy twice so far. Unlike the RS, it may not be a state, but at least it functions, despite the usual problems that plague the region.

So far as I know that RS is a separate territory in Bosnia and Mr Stefanovic has not violated the Paris Agreement safe as you claim...

In the past two thousand years or more, many different states have come and gone and come again on the geographical territory currently known as "Bosnia". Three separate nations exist today on this territory. The Moslems and Serbs have separate states; the Croats more or less. All else is empty rhetoric.

Every move, the central government in Sarajevo goes against cooperation with Serbia, because they are still in the trenches! Of course, political!
