Schengen doesn't have anything to do with the freedom of a EU citisen to live in a EU country. C'mon: I have many friends that have moved with no problems in France...But they weren't gypsies.

Romas like the ones expelled from France live with no problems, in the same conditions, in Italy or Spain. So the reason for expelling them is simple: they don't know how to deal with them. And the west calls the balkans..."backward".

It's the same double standard of some westerners to what they can't understand. Freedom...bleah!

Wait a minute, I thought that Romania was a member of the EU. If I am correct, then these disadvantaged Roma are citizens of the EU, enabling them to travel and live anywhere in the EU. Why is France deporting them to Romania, then? This does not sound like a democracy to me - why join the EU then, so you can be a pawn of Brussels, yet add to their economy? It's all about the money, isn't it?

Because Romania isn't currently a member of the Schengen Agreement therefore they don't have the 'right' to live where ever they want in the EU. Besides they returned voluntarily... apparently.

You know how many times EU has accused Romania for "discrimination" against the Roma? And what do they do when Romas are in their country? They expel them!

Is that democracy? Is this Fredoom?

Imagine the reaction of the EU if Romania would do the same with the gypsies..

This is the EU's 'Rule of Law' in action. The French are no better than the Germans or many of the CEEC's when it comes to outright discrimination.

Ecoman, there are these things called "fine prints"... you can only move to a country that you can find a job and not become a social service hoarder/case. none of these romas pay taxes, probably use hospitals etc. The french should have done this a long time ago... if you can relocate anywhere for no legit reason then eastern europe would be empty by now.
