There is something very troubling when it comes to Syria when you look at larger picture.
A Dutch journalist who was kidnapped by rebels inside Syria reports his abductors were from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Chechnya, with no Syrians present. Reports of non-Syrian jihadis have been confirmed by correspondents of both the Guardian and the New York Times who say foreign fighters under the banner of al-Qaida’s black flags. One commander inside Syria, Abu Khuder, speaks "Our goal is establishing an Islamic state and not a Syrian state.”
In Mali, Islamists took over just 2 months after being CIA trained.
In Egypt, Hani Nour Eldin, a senior member of the Gamaa Islamiya, considered terrorist organization, was granted a visa by US State Dep.to meet with Deputy National Security Adviser Denis McDonough while in USA.
In US, Huma Abedin is deputy chief of staff in Hillary Clinton’s office. Both her parents are senior members of Muslim Brotherhood ( MB )in Egypt.
Let's not judge her by parents. OK.
She worked as assistant editor for the Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs from 1996 through 2008 under Abdullah Omar Naseef, a major MB figure known for involvement in the financing of al-Qaida.
One of the leaders of the Syrian rebels is Abdelhakim Belhadj, a Libyan who was suspected of complicity in the 2004 Madrid train bombings. He was arrested by the CIA,until he appeared in Libya to fight Gahdafi???
Now Syria.
It's clear that US and its allies are strongest supporters of RADICAL ISLAM.

The Alawi (not Syrian) Army will claim many "victories" until its own demise. The gradual erosion of Assad's influence can already seen in whole Syria. The rebels will wear down the enemy just as the Vietcong did it with South Vietnam. The offensive in Damascus was in many views the Syrian counterpart of the Tet Offensive. They don't have to win the battle, they have to keep the Alawi army occupied. The financial and logistical crisis of Assad's clan will do the rest. Aleppo is/was Syria's economic center. Even if Assad conquers is back what is unlikely he would just receive a destroyed city, primarily by his own artillery and air force.

The Irani and Hezbollah support will just slow it down, but without the chance to stop it. The funds from Saudi-Arabia, Katar and Libya exceeds their potential by far and Russia will be less enthusiastic to spend for Assad. The last delivery of jets Moscow denied and this for a understandable reason. Assad won't be able to compensate and here friendship ends. Syria will be another Russian "ally" which will be abandoned by Moscow. It is only a question of time.

The Europeans and semi-Europeans (Bulgaria, Romania , Albania ,Croatia , ect.) mostly can see no difference between the Syrian society and an average western state. Here the supporters of the regime fight for their own families. This is why they are so brave and successful. They have no illusions over the fate of their families if only the US/Saudi gangs like the Muslim Brothers and Al Qaeda come to power. They will massacre all the Christians , Kurds and the Allawites. Also confessional peace will be destroyed for years and therefore even many of the Sunnites remain neutral or support Assad. So the things run not bad if only Syria can escape the Lebanon scenario.

I guess after the double break among the bandits last week they will soon start fighting each other. It will definitely help the regime to destroy them all. The main figure in the regime is not President Bashar but his elder brother commanding the 4-th Corps and the National Guard. Those are the strongest and most reliable troops which until recent remained in reserve. As soon as they were involved Damascus was set free from the Islamists. Now they are moving to Aleppo and the gangs are totally demoralized. Any time their supply routes along the Turkish and Lebanon borders can be cut by the Syrian Kurds and Lebanon Allawites. Iran added another 3000 troops to their 15 000 already fighting in Syria.
