Its funny how an article that shows Russia trying to help rebuild something, thats right reBUILD, I haven't seen anything Albanian associated with the world BUILD and yet people still come on to this form to criticize this action. Russia has the money so why not spend it on something reasonable like preserving cultural heritage instead of wars (USA/EU/NATO/Israel), Weapons (Syrian Rebels/UCK), building useless buildings just to be the tallest (Dubai/Qatar).

Now the 100 x better life in Kosovo was the biggest laugh I have had in years. I am sure it is very good to live in a place with constant disruptions of electricity and water, overrun by terrorists, Mafia, Drug lords and Organ traffickers, depleted uranium which has not been cleaned up and a general dysfunctional government. Well its the Albanians harming themselves, had they stayed with Serbia they would have had VISA-free travel through the Schengen zone but that now only applies to Serbian Citizens not Kosovo or Albania.

Sure, feel free to tell that to the IMF and since you are there, tell them to correct Serbia's number as well for your "emigrant" adjustment :). Anyway, even after all of those adjustments, Western Balkans continue to be the paradise on Earth considering that BRICS like India as half as much and are still a paradise according to these forums :).
(icj1, 5 August 2012 22:21)

I'll give a try :) anyhow Albania has about 1/3 of population out so Serbia's discount factor of GDP will not benefit of the same weight :)

an anecdote about GDP. In Italian it is known as PIL= prodotto interno lordo... but as it doesn't capture many important features of the economy italian economists call it prodotto ingannevole lordo- google-translet it... cheers :)

Icj1: please don’t spread false information. The GDP per capita of Albania is erroneously divided with the number of the Albanian citizens while there are over 1 million that have emigrated. When Albanian GDP is divided by the effective number of Albanian residents that actually contribute to the GDP the Albanian GDP per capita is higher than Serbian. Same goes for Kosova. Kosova has about 2 million citizens but resident in Kosova are not more than 1.5million.

but, Ben, you Albanians DO live in misery! what are you talking about, actually???

I know that very well since I have contacts to KFOR- and even UN-personnel and one german police-officer I once talked with told me that the number of albanian women "working" horizontally is high. not as high as the number of women from eastern europe or Romania, but well...that´s the reality at least in Germany, since I think he can only credibly say something about his own country, I guess.

but, please don´t fall so deep, don´t be so pathetic. trying to create the impression of serbian women being prostitutes and going to KiM for work is just laughable.

if so, then they are looking for the foreign occupiers, who got the money, the average albanian can´t afford to even think of a serb prostitute, you should know that...honestly, you must be very ignorant if you really believe what you wrote.

on the other side, if the foreign occupiers prefer serb women, there will be a reason for it, I guess. perhaps it´s that they look way better than the average albanian woman =)

On the other hand, with estimated 50% unemployment, about 25-30% of the Kosovo population are considered to live in extreme poverty according to international standards (i.e. having less than €1,50 for living per day and person)

Poverty in Kosovo, worse than in Africa
Prishtina, (Kosovapress) 04 June 2012 15:23

Kosovo is ranked among the poorest countries in the world. The misery index, published by "Business Insider" is supported by an economic theory that summarizes a country's unemployment and inflation rates to assess conditions on the ground.
The report summarized the 197 countries and territories from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe to draft the misery index in 2012. Results are based on data "CIA World Fact Book," which evaluates the figures for states and territories that do not have reliable local agencies for such assessments.

Before Kosovo, which was ranked the ninth, as the most miserable places are Nepali in eighth place, then Yemen in the seventh, Namibia, Djibouti, Turkmenistan, Burkina Faso, Liberia and the first one is Zimbabwe. / M. Mulaj /

Ben,
Firstly, of course something in pristina would sell for more than some remote village in serbia. But same goes for just about any city in serbia, or any other country. Location is important. A remote serbian village that is dying off is not a good comparison, unless if one is retarded or delusional. You need to consider for example prices in Belgrade and Novi Sad, compared to Pristina, or something like that in order to get a good comparison. At any rate, such price are often based on speculation, so don't count on them too much.

You need to look at socioeconomic figures. The UN human development index is a good one for example. The point is that kosovo's socioeconomic conditions are similar to some of the worst place to live in, in Africa. And now that's scary.

And lastly, human trafficking and prostitution is a reality that needs to be tackled and fixed. Sure, there's that going on, but there's a lot of that kind of stuff going on with people from all over the world. Around the world much of this is illegal. Do look into "legal jobs", and you'll see that kosovo and metohija is one of the worst places in europe to get a job. It's not so great in serbia in terms of getting a job, but it is obviously far far far worse in kosovo and metohija. You really need to try to examine the situation from a non-biased angle. Try to do that. I know it's hard, I know the truth hurts, but please try.

Believe me, if the Albanians could, they would wipe anything Serbian off the face of KiM, if they could. They have been trying for over 100 years, and have not succeeded. Thank you, Russia. It is comforting to have some friends, when surrounded by, and occupied by, tyrants.

considering the evil the Serbian church is responsible for I'd say their lairs of wickedness need destroying some more. no sympathy for bearded men who preach hatred of other ethnic groups. lets not forget this so called vessel of God was blessing soldiers in Croatia, Bosnia, Kosova, soldiers who went on rape, murder, pillage and so on and so forth

Indeed, 2 million is really not much for 100s of ancient churches and monasteries (some of them being declared as UNESCO cultural heritage) looted, destroyed and desecrated by the Kosovo Albanian mob, incited by Kosovo Albanian media that were spreading nothing but lies.

Mirel I don't know if you are really this ignorant or if you are just pretending. Albanian donated 500 thousand euros! Didn't albanians destroy them in the first place? First you destroy 150 churches/monasteries and then you brag about rebuilding a dussin of them. That's low Mirel, that's low.

i simply adore the Serbian ignorance.

Man in Albania and Kosova the life is 100 times better than Serbia. Otherwise why your girls are coming to "work" http://www.b92.net/info/vesti/index.php?yyyy=2012&mm=07&dd=30&nav_category=12&nav_id=630606 in our cities???

Man your houses are sold at €5.000. Your fertile land is at less than €1.000 per acre...

I can sell a garage in Prishtina and buy an entire Serbian village.

Do you know hopw much is a m2 in Vlora?? do you really think the life in Vranje is better than in Vlora?? that Living in Nis ius better than living in Durres??? cheers man... :))

Ardi, Russians actually do live better now than they did ten years ago. It should be way better, yes, but alas we're under capitalism, and that system is not so great for people. I think that the motives behind your post is that you are very angry that this is happening. So I think that you need to calm down and to see this as a positive step - at least for Serbs. And then, you need to try to realize what nightmare of a rotten miserbale situation your albanians live in, both in Kosovo/Metohija, and in Albania. Goodluck!

Such imagination. I wonder how life can be so much better, when the economy is so much worse in both Albania and Kosovo. I guess life is good when you steal from others, it might not be good for those you steal from, but it sure is nice for the thieves to get that little bit extra.

The GDP of Serbia is 45.04 billion, while the GDP of Albania is 12.96 billion, and the GDP of Kosovo is 6.45 billion.

Serbia 10642/capita, Albanian 7741/capita, Kosovo 7044/capita... that's very good according to these forums since BRICS countries like India (at 3694/capita) are the paradise on Earth :)
(icj1, 4 August 2012 02:14)

Icj1: please don’t spread false information. The GDP per capita of Albania is erroneously divided with the number of the Albanian citizens while there are over 1 million that have emigrated. When Albanian GDP is divided by the effective number of Albanian residents that actually contribute to the GDP the Albanian GDP per capita is higher than Serbian. Same goes for Kosova. Kosova has about 2 million citizens but resident in Kosova are not more than 1.5million.

(Lazar, 3 August 2012 18:51)

Lazar the prices to which I was referring (€5K for a house and €1K for acre) are the prices of the Serbia’s richest region- Vojvodina. You can get the news by yourself here in B92 in Serbian language. I don’t dare to compare the value of a garage in Prishtina to the rest of Serbia- I was nice and took as benchmark yours most developed region. I was just nice to you.

Anyhow, I'm glad that you stopped talking the rubbish of the Albanian misery - your last comment was a nice attempt to get in touch with the reality.

In Italian it is known as PIL= prodotto interno lordo... but as it doesn't capture many important features of the economy italian economists call it prodotto ingannevole lordo- google-translet it... cheers :)

Ben,
Firstly, of course something in pristina would sell for more than some remote village in serbia.

Hey ben, you lie.

M. Mulaj /

Oh, then these men are probably members of a mafia clan which turned Kosovo into Europe's main drug hub. I believe you that those gangsters live much better than the average Serb.

On the other hand, with estimated 50% unemployment, about 25-30% of the Kosovo population are considered to live in extreme poverty according to international standards (i.e. having less than €1,50 for living per day and person)

Jovan

pre 11 godina

but, Ben, you Albanians DO live in misery! what are you talking about, actually???
