"As we can see, the NATO death machine still has traps laid throughout Serbia" @ZORAN
I have read some ignorant comments on here but if you really believe that NATO said lets drop a time delayed bomb thats going to go off in 13 years when a Serb gets near it you have lost all sense of reason.

Occasionally, comments appear that really wind me up, and yours is one!
Rather than use every opportunity to slag of your neighbours, why not do some research and make constructive comments that justifies your indignation?
In 2000/2001 I spent time providing security for the NGO Mine clearance operating within the Dragas region. During conversations they stated that the ‘mine maps’ provided by the VJ (as they were known then) were spot on regards accuracy, and the clearance operation had been going smoothly.
The biggest problem they had was finding large areas almost stripped of mines by ingenious locals (purpose was evident later, particularly in Macedonia) and in some cases removing the Trig points to prevent identifying locations!
Rogue fields planted and not marked is another matter, though both sides were guilty.
Incidentally, I was involved in an incident near the village of Zur where two young Herdsmen were injured by an AP mine re planted by persons to prevent them using a particular grazing area.
EODs of any type, regardless of ownership, are nasty.
Your statement is flawed, probably the result from Café bar gossip

just to remember you:250people died inside albania due to serbian bombs since the end of the war:all the line between kosovo and albania is full of explosive devices that still kill and kill mostly children !
Serbia does know where its army has placed these mines and cluster bombs but till now has refused to informe and give the plans to Nato or any antimine NGO!

Its also illegal to use these bombs aginst civilians, that didn't stop those Nato gangsters if i remember they slaughtered several people at Nis market place one saturday when they were out shopping.

How unfortunate for these young men and their families.

To the ignorant people who commented here with their crude and callous words ...
Cluster bombs are inaccurate and unreliable weapons. They randomly scatter thousands of submunitions or "bomblets" over large areas, and they continue to take even more civilian lives and limbs long after a conflict has ended. These "bomblets", that are about the size of a soft drink can and contain hundreds of metal pieces, can cause deadly injuries up to 25m away. When they fail to explode upon impact, the landscape is littered with landmine-like munitions. Unexploded bomblets can kill or maim long after a conflict has ended.

So, I agree, there are stupid people "con" ... like you and a few others who commented here.

Unfortunately there are plenty of bombs left from the wars in former Yug. I wonder for how much longer people will be killed or wounded thanks to those bombs. I know that in Kosovo many have died from unexploded bombs left from the wars. Not to long ago some children were killed after playing with some sort of bomb.

I agree and anyone who accepts this story without question would definitely fall into that category!

It would be a total scandal if Serbian soldiers would have been killed by their own bombs second time this month. So easy, just blame NATO Forces and case closed. :)

If they were clearing a minefield then the chances is are it was most likely a mine that killed them. But obviously it would be a PR disaster if they were to state that to serbian soldiers tragically died from serbian mines placed by the serbian army and it is much easier to blame NATO.

Cluster bombs are made up of many bombs / cylinders that are usually yellow and visible if they remain unexploded overground.

Questions

pre 11 godina

Just on the surface, one has to question: Why is there a minefield in "central" Serbia. NATO operations were air only.
The second question would be if the investigation has not started, how did they already determine this was a left over cluster bomb in a Serbian mine field?
