what truth are you telling? that you were part of KFOR? that's even worse for you, it means you aided these so called jihadists to get a state of their own!! you're partially responsible for it

If the so called government in Pristina was more concerned about attracting foreign business and investment to save the so called independent country from economic ruin, they would not be so very concerned with making international incidents for the sake of custom stamps.
(marKo, 1 August 2012 01:39)

Well, it's not just a matter of customs stamps; it's a matter of lost customs revenue which should be collected according to UNMIK regulations to save the so called independent country from economic ruin. Not all goods destined to Kosovo are exempt from customs duties; only goods made in Serbia are exempt.

Another despreate move by a desperate alliance. They may control the border but how will they control the serbian population in the north?
(MikeC, 31 July 2012 18:28)

Nobody has any intention to control the Serbian population in the north, south, east, west or center. According to Kosovo's Constitution, they can manage their own local affairs, if they so wish. The customs are not a local affair; those are a UNMIK affair and UNMIK is in charge in Kosovo and UNMIK regulations in regards to customs are the LAW. Whoever is not happy with that can go and complain to the UNSC - simple as that.

icj1

""We demanded that trucks that bring in goods for stores in the north of the province be allowed to move freely, since there are already shortages there," he stated.

This councilor noted that Serbs, who are a majority population in the area, voted in a referendum to reject the authority of the Kosovo institutions. "

Well, the trucks are moving freely as long as they comply with UNMIK custom regulations which require that a customs tax be paid at the crossings for all goods destined to Kosovo.

People in Kosovo can vote to reject whatever they want except for UNMIK and UNSCR 1244 which can only be "rejected" by a vote of the UNSC. For those who might have forgotten, UNMIK is in charge in Kosovo and UNSCR 1244 is still in force and says that Kosovo is Serbia :)

Coupled with rampant corruption, not exclusive to the Kosovo institutions, but most certainly endemic to them, how do you think incidents like this look to foreign investors? Is Kosovo a stable place to invest your money?

This back and forth with the KFOR troops is really getting old. In fact, this entire Kosovo issue is getting old. IMHO, the internationals simply pack up and leave, and let the domestics solve their own problem. I am a Darwinist, and truly believe in the "Survival of the fittest" principle. Allow the Serbs and the Albanians to finish what they started in the late 90's themselves. That would be the only solution that both sides would honor.
(winston, 31 July 2012 12:46)
Winston, survival of the fittest is not physical. It is also about the ability to make allies and outsmart others. Adapt to new situations and get any advantage you can in the changing situations so you're able to survive it. In this case it means having the ability to have NATO help us. Serbia did not have this ability. Their strategy and thinking process was horrible to say the least. Seems like it still is. So what you're supporting is not really survival of the fittest. Its simply a half-brained attempt to cover the many horrible choices Serbia made during the 90's in choosing its allies. Basically overnight you turned the West which were your allies, into your enemies. That is the behavior of someone who is unfit to survive as it is helping the enemy gain advantage. You played a game of Russian roullete, an all or nothing kind of a deal, instead of navigating through the many shades of grey. You effed up big time. Its hard to accept failures but you have to or you risk repeating them. Seems like you are.

Somebody on here said all the alternate roads were already closed so long ago? Do some people tell the truth at all? Or are your comments on this forum simply the ideas you come up with in your room on Saturday night.

Anyway this is a joke. Polish troops? The people of Poland are overwhelmingly against anything to do with siding with interim "Kosovo*" institutions. Most of the citizens in countries that recognized the occupation really don't care one way or an other, but the majority of people in Poland, Czech Republic, Montenegro, FYR Macedonia ect. do not support such a stand.

Whatever, this is all pointless and temporary to be honest. Point blank, Kosovo i Metohija is the Serbian nations sacred and holy land as well national backbone. Kosovo i Metohija is to Serbs what Jerusalem is to the Jewish people. We cannot survive without Kosovo i Metohija not reintegrating into Serbia (the parts of the province that are currently occupied).

A Serbia without Kosovo i Metohija=the Balkans without peace, reconciliation and prosperity.

I'm sorry but I truly don't think there is any other way.

Seems like you are.

oh dear exKfor, I am honestly worried about you. all that guilt about having served in KFOR and helped us become independent of serbia is eating out at you and you're expressing yourself in vial terms. its over dude, all you've been reduced to is writing jihadist this jihadist that on b92. what you fail to realize is that you yourself aided these so called jihadists by being a part of KFOR. sorry man, as the song goes, too late to apologize :-)

If the so called government in Pristina was more concerned about attracting foreign business and investment to save the so called independent country from economic ruin, they would not be so very concerned with making international incidents for the sake of custom stamps.

Well, it's not just a matter of customs stamps; it's a matter of lost customs revenue which should be collected according to UNMIK regulations to save the so called independent country from economic ruin. Not all goods destined to Kosovo are exempt from customs duties; only goods made in Serbia are exempt.

what truth are you telling? that you were part of KFOR? that's even worse for you, it means you aided these so called jihadists to get a state of their own!! you're partially responsible for it
