Afrim - real independent state is South Sudan. South Sudan became independent state on 9 July 2011 (one year ago), and became UN member at 14 July 2011 - five days after. South Sudan is member of international organizations like African Union or FIFA.

Kosovo 5 years after unilateral delcaration of "independece" - don't control their territory (only KFOR and Serbs control Northern Kosovo) have any chance do join UN, UE etc. organizations and can't play official football matches... So... Kosovo - is "independent" only on paper of their Declaration...

"Kosova is free, democratic and sovereign, recognized by major world democracies such as the United Staes of America, E.U ( exception of 5 failed euro economies). Let it go, it's over Serbia."
(Afrim Pulatani, 26 July 2012 03:22)

Free? Kosovo is in the hand of some corrupt clans of politicians who only care for themselves and their clan mates and families which are provided with well-payed state jobs.
Democratic? Latest elections in Kosovo have been worst mockery with faking, voter intimidation, bought votes and everything you can imagine for manipulation elections.
Sovereign? Kosovo is under UN administration, i.e. a protectorate and a disputet territory.
Recognized? By about half of the UN countries, excluding some of the biggest countries in the world, China and Russia, without a perspective to ever become an UN member.
Independent? Depending on donor money, with no economy, about 50% unemployment, and being one of the poorest regions in Europe.

Koha Ditore reports that on Monday Serbian officials made promises for cooperation and a constructive spirit but on Tuesday they showed the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon their true colours regarding Kosovo. Ban boarded his private plane in Belgrade but after waiting 45 minutes, Serbian authorities did not give him the international code to fly to Pristina.

Despite diplomatic insistence, Serbian authorities did not change their position and the UN chief was forced to fly to Macedonia first and then to Pristina Airport. Diplomatic sources confirmed the information to the paper.

I agree, with the exception that I wouldn't call the current authorities 'elected' after all the faking and manipulations during the last self-organized elections in the democratic dream state of Kosovo.

So Mr. Ban is staying away from the Kosovo (provinicial) flag.
Well, indeed, just because of the fact that (the province of) Kosovo is not a state, but... you can guess it... a province.

To all: please accept that reality and move on with your lives.
Thanks in advance!

Thisnis so funny. Serbs are so talented in spinning actual events. Your propaganda machine should seriously work in Hollywood. Kosova is a reality. Kosova is free, democratic and sovereign, recognized by major world democracies such as the United Staes of America, E.U ( exception of 5 failed euro economies). Let it go, it's over Serbia.

UN chief "ignored Kosovo's independence" during visit.

Of course he did, since Kosovo, except for the Albanians, is a disputed Serbian territory temporary run by UNSCR 1244.
Its so funny to read the Albanian comments about that Kosovo is this, Kosovo is that.
Everybody knows that even if there is only ONE UN person in Kosovo, 1244 is STILL valid. 1244 is the God, father and son for Kosovo until UNSC says otherwise. Eulex works under 1244 if you did not know it !!
It matters not one bit that the Albanian commentators say "We dont care", "Unmik has nothing to say", "We are happy as long the Serbs do not rule anymore", etc etc.
The Albanians know in their heart and soul that Kosovo is not independent, it will not be independent and that Kosovo will say just where it is.

Also, the recognitions, as I said in the past, has stopped by 91 (Some say 87, because some are disputed), and there are if Im not misinformed 193 countries in the world (UN).

He should be happy that Ban met with him at all, I think. Keep in mind that Ban is the chief of UN, and Kosovo is not an UN member state.
(Comm. Parrisson, 25 July 2012 19:29)
And this is true, Ban is trying to act in a true status neutral way. He does not treat it like either a state nor a province. So either side wanting to claim some type of victory here by interpreting actions as one side or the other are just blowing in the wind. Ban is probably the only truly status neutral individual as he should be. Unless the UN officially comes to an organizational consensus on the status of Kosovo(which it has not) as head he is to act accordingly. Some members support an independent Kosovo, some do not. There is NO consensus either way. Kosovo is still a UN protectorate, it can be that as a province or as a state.
Per resolution 1244 he recognizes the elected authorities in Kosovo as that, Kosovo and supporters see them as final authorities, Serbia and supporters see them as the provisional authorities. Just different stages of 1244.

it seems that the albanian newspaper "koha ditore" has understood what most of our dear k-albanian friends here still haven´t realized.

all they can,... is belittling it. what a poor and pathetic way to react.

and as if somebody had asked for it, one of those K-albanians couldn´t but to display this weakness by ineffectively trying to be ironic, like Ari or Ardi Aslani ( sorry, if I misspelled your name, just forgot it ).

bottomline: forthe Albanians, no matter what their "heroes" might say, ... UNSCR 1244 is the Alpha and the Omega. fullstop.

needless to say, that they will start denying that too.

"Jashari, considered a terrorist by the authorities, was killed in clashes with the Serbian police. "

To be precise, Jashari including 50 people of his extended family, among which kids and elderly, were killed by the authorities. They created a hero and sparked the beginning of the end for Serbian domination over Kosovo.

Ban was "careful to choose locations for meetings that had no state insignia of Kosovo".

This is hilarious. Ban avoided taking pictures with the flag of Kosovo and other symbols. So the deceptive little kosovo representative tricked him into taking a picture in front of the framed declaration of Kosovo's independence, and a photograph of Adem Jashari. Ban probably had no idea what he was standing in front of.

LOL. This is too funny how desparate people like Jahjaga are.

Crna Ruka

I forgot to mention. What makes it even more hilarious is that they chose their deceptively acquired picture to spread around the media.

They are so funny with their weak attempt at propaganda. LOL

Ardi Asllani

Jahjaga's office later sent her photograph taken with Ban, in the said decor, to the media.

Another Albanian language daily, Zeri, is also focusing on the airport photographs and symbols today, saying that Ban "avoided the flag (of Kosovo), but not Adem (Jashari)".

Bota Sot daily - which is close to the opposition Democratic Alliance of Kosovo - says that Ban "ignored the symbols and independence of Kosovo".

Since when Serb media is so found of Kosova media? I can see our daily newspapers are quoted left and right.

In an attempt to downplay the importance of the fact that the his meeting with Ban took place at the airport, Kosovo PM Hashim Thaci said he regarded this as "a technical issue" - since he himself "happened to be at the airport on his way to Brussels".

He should be happy that Ban met with him at all, I think. Keep in mind that Ban is the chief of UN, and Kosovo is not an UN member state.
