5 years ago the Euro was 80 dinars, now 117! That's a depreciation of almost 50%!!!
My salary is in dinars, my rent is in Euros.
In fact anything that has any real value is always quoted in Euros, i.e. real estate, cars, business deals etc. Dinars is for buying things at the piaca and paying your electric bills. Soon we can wipe our arses with it because it will be cheaper than buying toilet paper. No wonder Serbia's poverty gap is growing at an alarming rate, it is getting very difficult and expensive to live here.

Obviously you are not well informed. To address that you need to pay more attention to the preachings on the CE of B92 forums sj which are based on his/her unparalelled economic expertise and news from his/her legendary Malaysian friend. If you were to do that, your understanding of the world will improve significantly and you'll come to understand that Serbia is actually a global economic powerhouse :)

I said this a while ago but hey ,ill just say it again:

They bury small businesses with heaps of regulation while signing off large scale companies with the stroke of a pen.Yes we certainly have a very "free" market where tycoons and corrupt officials control the economy....

We have the wrong system,period.We need a new one where co-ops( enterprises owned/managed by workers),small businesses,credit unions,and b corps bring prosperity to the economy and democacy in the workplace.Did not have it really have that before in communist Yugoslavia or now.

In Mondragon they do and it works perfect.In spain the national unemployment average is about 15 percent,in Mondragon its 8 to 9 percent.Hint?I think anyone which a limited knowledge of economics can figure out that if this has been working there for 60 years,and this model has around 850,000,000 -1,000,000,000 people involved,should we not give it a go?

This is only born at the local level,so each community can create its own Mondragon.Serbia needs neither far right nationalism nor neoliberalism,but a new model to follow.Something which actually works for a change.

So to all politicians, here is what to do;
1st, Focus on the economy instead of on your own pockets. Be patriots not pariahs. Can you not all work together for the common good. Is this really soooo difficult?
2nd, Tackle corruption. Mr N. did you not promise to do so?? Corruption is the number 1 enemy of the people, in fact it destroys economies and all hope of trust and fairness. Serbia comes top in the world only in two things; Tennis and corruption. You rightly should be Proud of one and be ashamed of the other, are you?
3rd, bureaucracy. Fix it. Everything can be done simpler, easier, faster, better, and more efficient than how things are done now. It will save the economy billions and create billions simply because Serbia will be a better place to live and to do business in.
And finally... start now!
