1244 is an 'agreement' signed under duress after a sustained bombing campaign.
(Bob, 24 July 2012 13:54)

What are you talking about, dear ? Haven’t you read in these forums how a great victory of Serbia against the evil NATO that campaign was ?
----------

Currently Serbia is complying with 1244, and that is the tenuous link left that keeps Serbia legitimately in the picture and the 'udi' at the level of a dream sustained as protectorate - rather than a self-sustaining accepted reality.
(Bob, 24 July 2012 13:54)

You are contradicting yourself… 1244 is so great for Serbia so I’m perplexed on why Serbia had to sign it under duress !!!
----------

In my view Belgrade should pass a law giving autonomy to Pristina for a long but limited period - say 50 or 100 years - and only deal with Pristina on the basis that it is an autonomous unit within Serbia.
(Bob, 24 July 2012 13:54)

Sure… and since you are there why not pass some law to grant autonomy to the Moon for say 50 years since the Serbian MPs do not know where to kill their time…
----------

Serbs need to expand their population considerably - without sending vast numbers abroad - and so then the population pressure from Albania can be countered.
(Bob, 24 July 2012 13:54)

And who’s going to feed those additional mouths, dear… Didn’t you see the tragic news yesterday that there are already 10000 children in Serbia who have only one meal per day? You want to add thousands of other children to that ?

osovo and Metohija is a province within Serbia under the Constitution and its sovereignty was confirmed in UN Security Council Resolution 1244, he noted.
....Really do you collect any taxes in Kosovo? or can you go and visit that place? as you are saying part of Serbia? I feel sorry for those educated serbs who can really do something about future of Serbia instead a clowns like you are destroying e future of the milions in Serbia.. but in the end what a hake you are making thousands or millions as other politicians in Balkan and people barely trying to fill up there stomach and that you call a 21 century democracy flowing in the Balkans..."nice job"

Which UNSC member was under duress at the time?? Like so many things about 1244 Serbs seem to not understand this is a UNSC resolution. Serbia was not asked, consulted, had no input and definitely did not sign UNSC resolution 1244. They did sign the Kumanovo Agreement with NATO to end the bombing campaign.
But all UNSC resolutions are signed only by members of the UNSC.

Errrr no it actually doesn't, it specifically mentions FSR Yugoslavia NOT Serbia and as we all know Yugoslavia doesn't exist. How can you be part of an entity which no longer exists Mr Jeremic?
(the Saboteur, 24 July 2012 09:49)

Actually, it mentions Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia&Montenegro), not SFRJ. Since Montenegro choose its own way in 2006, Serbia is easily the rightful successor-state...

Mr. Jeremic if Kosovo is Serbia why dont you accompany your friend to Kosovo?

Ok so Kosovo can not join UN but being part of Serbia it can not either so Olympics it will represent Serbia when now it can go as Albania.

Thanks but no Thnaks.

Only Solution is Referendum in territory of Kosovo Just like in Quebec or South Sudan or Scotland in 2013 let people vote.

1244 is an 'agreement' signed under duress after a sustained bombing campaign.

Kosovo is now under foreign occupation. It is under the control and determination of invading forces.

Serbia has a problem with Kosovo - but should never lose sight of the ultimate aim to recover control of the area. By the way; as the successor of Yugoslavia, Serbia does include Kosovo within its territory.

Currently Serbia is complying with 1244, and that is the tenuous link left that keeps Serbia legitimately in the picture and the 'udi' at the level of a dream sustained as protectorate - rather than a self-sustaining accepted reality.

In my view Belgrade should pass a law giving autonomy to Pristina for a long but limited period - say 50 or 100 years - and only deal with Pristina on the basis that it is an autonomous unit within Serbia.

Also, a rebalancing of population is necessary - the Albanians have sustained much higher birthrates which has caused both a depletion of resources within Albania proper, and an overspill of population seeking resources from neighbouring territories. Serbs need to expand their population considerably - without sending vast numbers abroad - and so then the population pressure from Albania can be countered.

Correction, note his title in the article he is still the FM of Serbia, until the new govt takes office. He does not assume his role at the UN until Sept.
My hopes are that the number breaks the 50% mark of recognitions on the day he takes office. Would that not be a ceremony to remember.

@think about it: well, dude, you have just seen he can quite easily do both at once. I guess you should "think about it"!

@EA: you as an individual can barely speak for the whole province, I´d say. KiM is serbian territory, completely. and what made me smile the most in your comment, was your reference to war.

my dear k-albanian friend, better pray to god that there is not just another armed conflict or even real war. this time it wouldn´t end in favour of the Albanians, that should be clear for you. because the Serbs are fired up for you...

but back to the bottom-line of this article: what is important in regard to that article, once again, even in presence of Mr.Ban Ki Moon UNSCR 1244 has been clearly mentioned, and that should make it clear to even the most-premature K-albanian in here that all that albanian bleating is senseless.

UNSCR 1244 is in effect and that is good. And Serbia has and will take care of its constitutional duties. it is just a question of time, my friends.

ps: and do not bleat about war, it is simply ridiculous if YOU are talking about war.

Of finally even Vuk is calling on all international factors to respect Kosovo's UDI which is in accordance with Resolution 1244. It's now obvious why Albanians have always considered Vuk as one of their best assets :)

Meaningless speech by Jeremic.....in other words he means nothing, Serbian constiution means nothing to Kosovo. Is Serbia ready to go again on war in Kosovo.....I really doubt as it will be again and again defeated.

In his "official" role as UNGA President Jeremic must adhere to the UN approach of status neutrality meaning in his official capacity he cannot refer to Kosovo as a Serbian province or he vacates the requirement that other UN officials be bound by status neutrality.
