The correct name is "Tsar Vladimir Putin", please.(J.Oker, 21 July 2012 14:21) Tell me about it, KGB Tsar, that is. Worst of all worlds. Long live fascism. Of course on this site, such types as put-in will always be popular and beloved. As was their beloved Milosevic, except for having lost the wars. Every single one, thank god...

Putin has restricted access to information.  This will not quench the thirst for freedom.
As long as Russians can read, see, and hear they will learn how others think and live in the world.
The steamroller of the information age has momentum now; there is no stopping it. Relentless efforts to do so merely add to the pent-up anger and frustration -- and Putin has yet to see it.
He can raid homes and offices; he can arrest Russians on bogus charges; he can torture them.  But these measures only fan the flames of freedom.
Putin cannot extinguish the fires by killing the Russians in whose chest they are burning.
Nor will he find a shortage of Nathan Hales in Russia whose only regret is that they have but one life to give for freedom in their country.

Roberto, could you be any more twisted?
You are so angry that there is a fantastic president of Russia now who won't allow his country to be destroyed by foreign agents. Why do you care so much what happens in Russia? Could it be that now it is going to be so much more difficult for the infiltrators to to their damage? Why do you bring Milosevic into this? What has Milosevic got to do with Putin?
I can only pray and hope that your favourites like Kandic will get the same treatment in Serbia. If only Nikolic would do the same but if he doesn't I'm sure that Serbian people are waking up and next election they will vote for someone just like Putin and put an end to all the infiltrators and enemies of Serbia working from within to break her up.
So go on, spit chips all you like, it won't help you. For me, I am delighted.

Putin signs law labeling NGOs as "foreign agents"

So what? Isn't that "just normal"?

Few days ago I sacrificed half an hour of my life carefully listening "Russian" answer to my question: "How comes that ALL Russian people I met hate Putin so much?" (well situated people who travel) I mean, you can see them paralyzed when shaking hands they hear my, maybe a bit provocative: "Hello Putin!" I'm bad- I know that but they're stupid, at least. I already tested in the past "Hello Stalin!" and they were all happy and shinning like oiled apples.. So what's going on?

His answer was straight away: "The wealthy people like us are very few watching the Russian population as a whole and we're all against Putin, that's why you always meet those who hates him. We're traveling and we know the values of the Western world. 90% of the poor, mostly uneducated people who votes him are not able to see all of that, they're sitting a front of an old TV and watching dictator's campaigns all day, that's why he's voted that much."

"Putin is president of Russia and not some Western country." (me)

"Yes, but he's cheating and he steals elections every single time! He's dictator. He's imprisoning and torturing people" (controversial!)

"The poor ones?" (bad me)

It's not possible and not necessary to bring more details of that conversation here but I can only say to those "travelers":

"Finally, he made a step toward Western World lovers in HIS country by bringing them one very common Western Law"

This is so simple one wonders why it took him so long. It could be that Putin had some other preference for dealing with NGOs besides dragging them out into the daylight. Very presidential, President Putin!

I would take it a step further and heavily tax NGO's that are funded by foreigners. But this is a good start and what Serbia needs. Serbia's system is so sick that the government actually allocates funds from the state budget and from tax payers to fund neo-liberal NGO's so they can tell the public they have to recognize Kosovo* occupation as independent in order to join the EU. The NGO's are funded by the state to serve as sort of a mouthpiece for the state by saying stuff the gov't cannot say at the moment, only to say later on when the NGO's had been saying so for years.

Even worse, millions are allocated to liberal NGO's to press for gay parades and abortion clinics. Disgusting. I don't get the problem with having 'Foreign Agent' on NGO's that are funded by foreigners because that is exactly what they are.

But the next step should be outright banning NGO's that press for abortions, that is the biggest crime on Orthodox Slavs.

Don’t you worry about NGOs coz we have 240 000 of them and none is annulled. The only difference is that US agents will have to assume it by themselves and Al-Qaeda agents will also have to open their faces. The new law brings no discriminations for overseas agents here but oblige them to tell the truth they prefer not to advertise. By the way the same law they have in the USA almost for half a century. Big countries are too big to bother caring of what the rest of the world would think of them. They just defend the ways they can afford. Since 1956 in Hungary too many revolts had been inspired from abroad to take it easy. Besides Damascus 2012 is too much alike Sarajevo 1914 when with one damned revolver 4 great empires ( Russian , Turkish , German , Austrian) were ruined and two other (English , French) were heavily wounded. You know who is always gaining of the world wars. So Russia is just cleaning it’s rear front. Most people underestimate the risks of the Syrian crisis like it was in 1914 in BH.

This is a man who knows how to stabilise the security of Russia from foreign activities. The law makes complete sense, an NGO which recieves masses of foreign (western) funding recieves it for one reason only, because those funding it wish to influence their activities in Russia, most commonly to try and disrupt the political atmosphere against Putin and the government. Such NGOs are western actors inside Russia, just like agents, and thus are rightfully labelled as 'foreign agents'. To make matters worse many of these NGOs which receieve western funding act against the law in Russia, so what we see is western financiers encouraging chaos in Russia, and encouraging civil unrest.

Guys, this type of law already exists in the United States, its funny how there's never any mention of that. The Russians even went as far as to say that they blatantly copied the Americans format and term "Foreign agent" from their own laws. This is not a new practice.

The problem is: This law is not about financing of politicians or political parties (which would make a lot of sense), but about NGOs in general that are 'politically active' (this is a flexible paragraph and can be interpreted like Putin and his judges want). And about the labeling as 'foreign agents', like they were some kind of James Bond.

It’s not everything that I like in Putin but this time he is on the right way. Formally there’s only one change that he called spade a spade and the government will have detailed reports where from and where to foreign money circle in Russian politics. Meanwhile the average voters will know who is standing behind the politicians and thus is ordering the music. If there had been such a law in Serbia it quite could escape the otpor type history. Concerning the lawsuit Clinton SS a month ago in Moscow told the local foreign agents to better camouflage their activities. Why should they if their interests are same as those of the state ?
