I wish you people would start to understand the concept of money. Print all you like but in the end you have to pay the price – Most of the offices are closing in Kosovo because they have run a tad short of cash.
(sj, 21 July 2012 12:15)

Since Kosovo is Serbia, I'd just make a small correction, especially as we read the section "Economic Crisis in Serbia" on the right of this page.

"I wish you people would start to understand the concept of money. Print all you like but in the end you have to pay the price – Most of the offices are closing in Kosovo because they have run a tad short of cash."

These are wise words that Serbia's government should take on board immediately especially since they have been stated by sj who is the CE of the B92 forums and knows what's speaking about.

So what are you doing on this site advocating for the Albanians in Kosovo????????? Shouldn’t you be tending to your mansion in the US with large swimming pool?????
I wish you people would start to understand the concept of money. When you start to understand that concept you may come to terms with the decline of the west.

Obviously that means Serbs, but level headed Albanians would qualify as well.
(Ari Gold, 20 July 2012 21:25)

that's dangerous.... you could have 2 million Kosovo residents make themselves appear as level headed just to get the money. Where will Serbia find the billions that will be needed in that case ?!

Anyone that recognizes international law and the inevitable reality that once the West leaves Kosovo that it will come back into Serbian fold. Obviously that means Serbs, but level headed Albanians would qualify as well.

The only difference is Albanians are not in danger of their lives in Kosovo* like the Serbs are. You would be surprised how much money Serbia would have to spend on the Serbs in Kosovo if there were an establishment in Belgrade that was not corrupt and not spend their money meaninglessly like having an ambassador to every single European country (fine) but then also have a EU ambassador...or having an ambassador to Myanmar..like wtf could that bring to Serbia?

All of that costs money that comes out of the budget. There is a lot of money that can be funded for positive things but the people who are in charge of budget allocation are broken individuals so that doesn't concern them.
(Ari Gold, 20 July 2012 21:25)

Like I said, nationalist and deluded.

Huge difference in could and would. But I think your could is a huge exaggeration.
Now the million dollar question, are you speaking of the 1.8 million people who live in Kosovo or the 100+ thousand Serbs that live in Kosovo?

And it is ok for a foreigner like you living on the other side of the planet advocating for Serbia to waste loads of money for silly nationalist reasons. But what you fail to realise is that once you leave Novi Sad and Belgrade, Serbia becomes a very poor country and cannot afford to throw money around. You honestly don't have a clue and can't see the real picture.
(I'm a Serb, a Croat and a Muslim, 20 July 2012 12:34)

You have probably never been to Kosovo so I forgive your ignorance about the situation. You say Serbia does not have money to waste on silly nationalism but the reality is Serbia already wastes a ton of money giving aid out of the budget to NGO's and paying bloated government. thank you for your comment, and letting the serb diaspora know the real situation in Serbia. These people are serbia's worst enemies. They advocate another war, and by doing so most certainly do not have Serbia's or the entire Balkan's intrest in mind. It is more important the the entire region leanrs to get along, find ways to establish peace with each other again, learns to leave the past behind, and look to a new future. Their sick minds are living in the past, and have not learned a thing from the tragedy that effected everybody in the Balkans. For Serbs living in the west the attitude has always been- there is no price too great for the Serbs living in Serbia to pay in order to preserve the pride of those who left for a better life.
Isn't it amazing that people who have good paying jobs, comfortable lives and living in an area that would not be affected in war are the ones that push Serbs to turn their backs on the west, spend all their resources on "saving" Kosovo, and advocate going to war.
Hope I never have anyone with that much concern for MY welfare.

Needless to say I don't agree. In fact I believe Serbs in Kosovo should be paid by the government even if they are not gov't employees. Why? Because surviving genocide is a full time 24/7 job.
(Ari Gold, 20 July 2012 09:57)

Ridiculous deluded comment.

Do you even know what genocide means? Or do you just use the word to emphasise a point? Surely an explanation mark would be sufficient.
There are no systematic killing of Serbs in Kosovo. The rare race related murders (which I condemn) cannot be classed as ethnic cleansing, nevermind genocide. The Serb population of Kosovo is actually on the increase.

This is the problem with you Serb Dispora, you're so nationalist and deluded. You can't see the real picture. You're fanatical and obssessed with portraying Serbs as victims. You've lost touch with real Serbs.

The bonus was never meant to help families but to buy dissidence from the Serbs in Kosovo, and to keep them from cooperating or participating originally with UNMIK and then the Kosovo institutions. Thus the threat in 2007 that anyone that voted in Kosovo elections(called by UNMIK) would lose their bonus payments.
Which also throws in another irony, in that prior to the number being dropped to 50% the constitutional court ruled that the bonus payments were in violation of the Serbian constitution, but the politicians decided to keep them anyway.
No what is this rhetoric that Kosovo must be handled in line with the Serbian Constitution?

On second thought the Minister is correct. Our budget needs funds allocated to foreign NGO's that open up abortion clinics (effectively Serbs paying for Serbs to die) and feeding bloated socialist style governments with over 130 gov't agencies (most huge and prosperous states have 7-8), 250 parliamentarians (USA's senate has only 100) and over 15 gov't ministries....

What a corrupt place Serbia is. Despite its unlimited potential, you couldn't tell Serbia apart from its weak but hostile neighbors. Now Serbia has stooped to its neighbors level which is something that never had to happen.
