You must be one of those who would like to see the same sort of savagery inflicted on syria we saw in Libya, with blacks being beheaded and hung from trees, and Nato bombing towns to rubble.
(Englishman, 18 July 2012 22:00)

Yeah man.It was much better when Gaddafi hired serbian pilots to bomb his own people. Then Nato intervened and messed up his plans. What a shame.

This has become a joke now!

Bashar Al-Assad's time will come soon. It is remarkable that the opposition forces are already in reach of his cabinet. In fact, the developments in Syria reminds me of the actions in Libya last year, except that there is no Western intervention. And this is what concerns me. The people in Libya remembers very well that it was the West who helped them to get rid of Gadaffi. Syria, however, gets the effective support from Saudi-Arabia and Qatar. Of course, the West and Turkey help too, politically, diplomatically and morally, but those are means which will help barely to remove Assad. Everyone knows that the use of force is the only thing which Assad and his clan fears really and mostly. It is time to change the strategy and to go into the offensive. Assad will fall, no matter what.

Al-Assad's end is near. That successful operation of the FSA showed that it is only a question of time until the whole system falls apart. More and more areas are getting liberated and even Damascus is a battlefield. I think Bashar should already try to find a suitable earth hole or a sewer.

typical albo troll. So if Al-Qaeda kills Leon Panetta will you congratulate them or consider that an act of terrorism?
(???, 18 July 2012 16:57)

Typical Serbian non-sense. The Syrian defense minister who has been sending the army to kill other Syrians has been killed by the Syrian opposition.Ask yourself the question:If the Serbian defense minister sent the army on the streets to kill everyone that opposes Nikolic, gets killed by a Serb.Would you consider it an act of terrorism?

It looks like Assad either is going to leave in Moscow or will meet Gaddafi in hell.
Yet even though in Russia secretly believe that Assad has 10% chance to stay in power, they still openly support him.
I dont understand this policy.
Instead focusing on finding someone who will replace Assad Russia,China and Serbia are still living in denail and still openly support him.
Than when he will go,they will complanin that West did this like they did in Lybia and Egypt.
No West didnt want Mubarak removed but was smart enough to realise that he was a burden and should be replaced. And they find the one who replaced him, while keeping the real power to the army.
The same with Lybia and Syria. The West found the replacement for both countries while Russia instead find a replacement for Gaddaf and Assad were and are supporting them.
What did Russia do during this time.Nothing just support someione who will leave. Is it smart.I dont think so,but politican in Moscow,Bejing and Belgrade think otherwise.

One mans freedom fighter is another mans terrorist.

Which country is next on the list of "we don't like your leadership choosing to be friends with Russia / China / generally non aligned" to be "assisted in a peaceful transition to democracy"?
