Ecoman, how true you are. As a serbia watcher for some years now and a regular visitor. For once I now think that wiser minds are advising Nikolic. The problem is I just wish he would tell the Serbian people the complete truth. Last weeks hand shake between Tadic and Hacim Thaci was well thought out and planned. Nikolic knew this was to take place, and if he didn't as President of Serbia then there was something radically wrong. Your politicians now realise that Europe has changed and is moving on. Every country is inter-dependent on one another and we all know we couldn't survive without one another. I just hope that Serbia soon realises that you have more in common with your neighbours than you think!!

To me this means they've lost any true patriotic spirit and are willing to be puppets and to betray Serbs and Serbia to a fair extent.

Serbian govt. playing usual game of deceit.
One face, ask to be Oblast of Russia.
Other face, ask to be member of EU.
Typical dishonest Serb game.
When Russia understand cheap treason, bye-bye Oblast!

Nikolic, like Tadic, does the same old EU chirp we have been listening to for many years, is it 8 now? Let's face it, the loans and grants come from the EU and IMF, so the Serb politicians have no choice but to sing the praises of the EU. But, in reality, they cannot stand the EU. They want complete control of Serbia, like the old communist days. Unfortunately, the well is dry, and they must bow to the EU BS'ers, in order to keep the funds (loans) coming. All of Serbia's politicians talk one game when seeking election, but as soon as they are in office, they see that the money is not htere, and they must butt kiss the EU and monetary fund orgs. Come on folks, Serbs, let's face it, we are broke, and dependent on the West just to survive. I am sure this was by design, but at least, our politicians should be honest enough to tell us. They still play some silly nationalistic card, and some "We will never give up Kosovo" bs, but it is a joke. Kosovo was lost even during the time of Tito, he planned it that way, so let's stop playing that game. Why must Serbia always be the last one to learn? I think it's because our politicians survive on that.

A few years ago Nikolic was among the most Europhobic politicians in Serbia, now he is one of the greatest Euro-enthusiasts. A few years ago you could hardly stop Nikolic talking about Kosovo, and professing his love for Russia, now hardly a whisper about either...

Also like Tadic as President he has begun talk about fighting corruption and crime.

As I mentioned before, it was clear that Nikolic and his party needed to moderate, but to become a poor version of the previous president, who has just been voted out, is sad. I expect he will be a one term president, although god only knows what fools we will have to choose from in 4 years...
