I still cannot imagine that (Socialist Party of Serbia leader Ivica) Dačić will be a PM, says former Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) MP Vesna Pešić.

I certainly understand her disdain for Dacic and SPS, but her comments are either emotional to the point of being irrational, or cynical in an attempt to discourage support for her rivals. Either way (and the point has already been made), this is politics for you, folks. DS and SPS needed each other to achieve their separate (but ultimately similar) agendas four years ago. This time around, the same thing happened between SPS and SNS. In the end, a lot of these guys are very much alike, regardless of where they stood in regards to Milosevic up to 2000. This, I believe, begs questions about the social and political system through which they rose. I suspect that diversity of culture and opinion was somewhat lacking!

Given that, sadly, the major SPS members of the government were more competent than their equivalents from the other parties the rise in support of SPS isn't a shock.

But honestly I ask my self in what kind of world does this women live in.

She didn't expect the SPS as part of govenrment. But honestly did she really expect the LDP to be part of it when LDP wouldn't have given them a majority like the SPS did.

What about this time? For at least two years SPS has indicated that depending on circumstances they would gladly ditch the DS and go with SPS. Given that that was public knowledge, I wonder why she makes the absurd statement of "no one voted for such a government."

Anyways, keep the election law and hope these three aren't able to form a government. Given the clash of personalities of the dozen or so small parties associated with the attempted ruling coaltion, I don't expect a government or a stable one to form.

But honestly, all I see in a new election is similar results with fewer 1 seat parties entering through coalitions. Possibly one of the two right wing parties that got under 5% to enter the new parlimaent.
