The mayor speaks the truth. And the truth is nobody really wants an independent state in Kosovo run by Albanians. Nobody.

I want it... so what yo're saying is not the truth LOL

His source from ICJ let him down :) its funny how staff always commented about ICJ also VUK and now they say nothing about it. No we asked the wrong Question who told Serbia to ask that Question. Go ask again or stop complaining the truth is they wanted to have a gray question to get gray answer.

Autonomy is really the best the Albanians can reasonably expect as a legitimate end to their demands in Kosovo.
(Paul, 15 July 2012 22:22)

Sure, nice idea... there is only a small detail that we need to find a solution for: how to convince Kosovo that autonomy under Serbia is better than the current sitution of independence from Serbia. Serbia has certainly done nothing in that direction - it even excluded Kosovo from the voters list and did not allow them to vote for their Constitution in 2006.

The mayor speaks the truth. And the truth is nobody really wants an independent state in Kosovo run by Albanians. Nobody. The only reason the major powers say they want it because they are sucking up to the Muslims and they are obliged to hate Serbs because they are not Catholic. Meanwhile there is nobody policing the borders between Kosovo and Albania which is a major disaster for policing organized crime.

Autonomy is really the best the Albanians can reasonably expect as a legitimate end to their demands in Kosovo. Not because we love and respect Albanians, but only because nobody in a healthy state of mind wants anything to do with the affairs of the Albanians. We'll pay for it too, but not all of Kosovo and not independence and certainly not a border free between Kosovo and Albania.

“Everything that would indirectly mean that Kosovo and Metohija is an independent state is not acceptable to us. We want to allow Kosovo Albanians the widest possible autonomy but we cannot accept that Kosovo is an independent state,” Pantić concluded.

Unfortunately for Pantic, "us" means about 1-2% of the Serbian electorate and thus irrelevant

It is funny everyday to read the Serbian comments. The really believe that things are going their way.
I think its sad that no one is telling them what people in Brussel say about Kosovo and all the future problems about negotiations, funding, visas etc.
One must admit that their leaders are quite skilled to dupe their people to think that Kosovo will not be independent, gain a seat in the EU or UN, have visas sometime in the future, investments etc. My personal belief is that they do this so themself (their politicians) can earn a lot of money and to keep people silent and not cause trouble.

When does this 'mayor' start to understand that his little opinion is worth nothing in the international political landscape. The time is over that a Serbian minority can dictate how the political status of Kosovo has to be defined. The highest achievement the Kosovo-North can reach is 'the widest autonomy' in the state of Kosovo as the Athisaari plan did constitute. This autonomy would even be better than what the Serbian Constitutional Court allows the Vojvodina.

Do you serbs relise one thing. Go and have a look at the countries that have recognise Kosovo. You have USA, UK Germany, France, Italy in top 10. What more do you want. Forget about reading the rest of the list as the above will do. Who on earth cares what Serbia or neverteless Serbian ilegal structures say about Kosovo. If you can see light you should be able to see that everyday Kosovo is becoming stronger state than serbia on its own.

Its funny how Kosovo didn't belong to Serbs for over 500+ years and Serbs say it was their southern province. All maps are clearly defined as to where Serbia's borders were prior to 1912. Even during the treaties Serbia presented maps to the world powers defining its territories. Were the Serbs of the past wrong in their assessments compared to the Serbs of today?

Koso, what does a man's hairline have to do with Kosovo policy? You must have something more intelligent to say than that, maybe not? Adem, I think it's time Albanians give up on their myth dream of having two States in the Balkans. Time for you guys to face reality, and start behaving like good neighbors to the Serbs, after all, it is their Southern province. BTW, can you name one historic date that links Albanians to KiM? Was it Skenderbeg's wars, and what was the year?

ecoman

Good enough for me, and everyone involved. The Albanians will be a little disappointed at first that they will not have another State in the Balkans, but in time they will get over it when they realize that being a State is not what they think it is. Total autonomy for the Albanians, but not independence. I think that that is something all of us in the Balkans can live with. Let's get this KiM issue done with already, everyone is totally bored with it. Time for people to lead constructive and satisfying lives, and not be subjects of politicians and separatists that only have their own goals in mind.

Serbians in Kosovo must be less noisy and accept borders, like Serbs in Bosnia & Hercegovina, Krajina too.
Then, everyone live in peace with neighbour countries.
Time to stop diseased 1389 dream and bow to reality.

Replace the second word with 'Albanians', and your sentence about acceptance of borders would make much more sense, somehow.
