Contrary to many comments here, Germany is by no means trustworthy today, and this arguement about Germany having only done bad in the past is false and invalid. Germany is a key sponsor to Kosovo's independence, this is current, not just historical.
(SCP UK, 14 July 2012 00:39)

Well, the question is not about truth or lack thereof. The question is always about money and ultimately whether the average Serb citizen can feed his/her family. Kosovo cannot be eaten for dinner (whether dependent or independent - Germany's aid can). That's why the average Serb citizen couldn't care less about Kosovo vs. feeding his/her family. Heroism is for the pages of these forums, not for real life :)

I'm not a state, so I cannot be jealous. Btw, for Russia, Germany is the most important trade partner (not only in the EU), too. So Serbia is in good company :)

Contrary to many comments here, Germany is by no means trustworthy today, and this arguement about Germany having only done bad in the past is false and invalid. Germany is a key sponsor to Kosovo's independence, this is current, not just historical. Germany may not be crashing through Europe with tanks and soldiers, but it is an economic occupier using the EU as a cover, they are the economic kingmaker while their subjects like the Greeks suffer. So we have German conquest in both world wars, in reference to the Balkans in the 90s they were among the main countries sponsoring Croatian and Bosnian Muslim separatism, and now the same with Kosovo Albanians, and with regards to Europe as a whole, they act as the economic dictators. So indeed, their efforts may be different but their attitudes are not.

Pete K, you must never forget your past but you cant blame the third generation for crimes committed by grandfathers, thats not good and doesnt make seance. Nobody denies the nazi crimes, but you cant blame their children. Serbian war criminals used the Ottoman history to justify killing boys and men, lets use the black pages in history to become better, not write new black pages!

It is true a country must never forget its past, but if you only live in the past and dont look to the future, when will the destructive circel end? Serbian war criminels used the Ottoman history to kill the children who where born many generations later. Dont use history to justify future crimes but learn from the past to make a better future!
(Zoran, 13 July 2012 02:14)

Thank you Zoran, I could not agree with you more. That is one of the huge mistakes that is constantly being made all over the Balkans. Don't forget ur past, but reflect on it in an open and honest way, leave out all the nationlist and patriotic BS, and take these lessons and look to the future to make sure they aren't repeated again.

No surprises here. Did anybody really expect Dacic to have a different position to the previous Serbian government?

Dacic does exactly as Milosevic did, he talks a good game - the easily manipulated believe him, then in practice he does the complete opposite.

There may be some in Serbia who have fallen for his rubbish, but all too soon he will be completely exposed, this is the just the beginning of his betrayal.

(Zoran, 13 July 2012 02:14)

Right. I never understood this 'blame game' from historic times about Germans and others from WWII you can often read here (or in British media). And yes, the Germans don't forget their past or try deny or falsify their history and push away the responsibility, they are aware of the horrible crimes their forefathers did and don't blame others for it. Though it would be easy for them, because the great dictator was originally from Austrian, and not a German. Furthermore, they don't blame Brits and Americans for systematically bombing whole cities. This was really a bomb nightmare with 1000s of people being killed in one night, and not some singular strategic bombing that happened to Serbia.

What an unfortunate statement by the possible prime minister of Serbia. He chose to completely delete recent history, and kiss the ass of a country that has always been supporting Serbia's enemies. What a disgrace.

A country that forgets its history, has no future. Shame on you Mr Dasic.

Dacic is an idiot, and this statement just confirms it. Germany has never, ever, been Serbia's partner, but has always been Serbia's enemy as they are today. Just look at their actions and it is crystal clear that they fully support their former Nazi allies and are attempting to destroy Serbia.
I expect nothing good from this buffoon, he's nothing but an opportunist who will say anything to anyone and has no principles.

"Stop living in the past, its 70 years ago. You wanne blame Germans for something their grandfathers did? It is true a country must never forget its past, but if you only live in the past and dont look to the future, when will the destructive circel end? "

Why? Have you developed the a-bomb and now you will liberate north Kosovo by dropping it on it?

Pete K, you must never forget your past but you cant blame the third generation for crimes committed by grandfathers, thats not good and doesnt make seance. Nobody denies the nazi crimes, but you cant blame their children. Serbian war criminals used the Ottoman history to justify killing boys and men, lets use the black pages in history to become better, not write new black pages!
