'I heard a few years ago that most of the trees had been cut down in Albania. (I haven't been there to confirm this though)'

I can vouch for the validity of your comment, though only for the area adjacent the western border of Albania and Kosovo.
My first mission was Dragas and the number of incidents involving illegal woodcutters from Albania was staggering. They came over armed and cut huge swathes of forest down. Response time to incidents was poor due to distance and terrain, and invariably they could see (or hear) our approach long before we arrived on scene.
A change of tactics involving dedicated teams/officers had some success and detered the culprits for a while, but it was a uphill struggle (pardon the pun). I believe the introduction of the BBP as had a more significant impact of late.
One of the sad sights of this activity was seeing large areas of destroyed trees that stiil stood amidst a stark backdrop, the trees were not cut from the lowest point of the trunk, but rather at the height of the shoulder of the 'cutter', the lazy B£%^£@^" could not be bothered to bend down!
200 years of forest management for everyones benefit is at serious risk from this activity

What I'm saying is that we don't want nothing to do with the Serbs and their myths about us and Kosovo. They got it right down their roots to behave bad towards us so just let them be and try.
(Mendo)

It's not myths when you keep proving it.

"The property in state ownership of the Republic of Serbia in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija amounts to 24,500 hectares of forests, and arable and building land."

What Property are you talking about. Serbia has no Property in Kosovo. Serbia has Lost Kosovo forever and ever. All these users that keep on Commenting here about Albanians this Albanians that, we truly know who serbs are and what they did. They are still destroying the North Part of Kosovo and they claim Albanians steal and Albanians Kill. The world is fed up with Serbian Propaganda they cant take it anymore.

I heard a few years ago that most of the trees had been cut down in Albania. (I haven't been there to confirm this though).

I guess that having run out of trees, the loggers have now decided to move into Serbia to cut down trees there.

Kosovo will run out of trees if you don't watch it. It is good that EULEX is there to protect trees from Albanian thieves. It would be better if MUP were there to do the job however.

agim kelmendi´s comment nicely displays a feeling of despair and anger. he seems to feel that he and his comrades are nothing without their US-"friends"... and the best thing is: it is the truth.

we will see who will have to pack up and leave, once the foreign occupation is ended, my dear friend agim kelmendi. I only hope that you will still be there to witness it...

@the guy from fredericton ( or was it frederictown? ), don´t take these Albanians here too serious, most of them are mislead kids with too much time left. they dream. of non-existent greatness ( "illyrian descent" ), of having the most powerful "friends" ( "one and only global super-power" ) and of having a "state" ( "kosovaaaah" )...

let them bark around a bit, thats always better than beating up old men, or desacrating old graveyards or churches and monasteries, which happen to be serbian, and not albanian.

it might be an inferiority complex, but I am no specialist in psychology though.

but one thing seems to be clear, they are frustrated. who knows, perhaps deep inside they know that their greater albanian project will fail.

The way I interpret your response is that we should ignore the Serbs that don't think highly of your compatriots otherwise they'll criticize you and your compatriots even more but in all fairness you wouldn't permit them to unleash unjustifiable physical harm to you and/or your compatriots otherwise you'd seek retribution even if you resort to taking legal action against them.Correct?

I forgot Serbs are saints, yet they managed to steal jewelry from stores when they started ethnic cleansing, steal cars, steal any equipments for use of agriculture, even home VHS. They did this in Croatia Bosnia and, Kosova. Yet they wanna call someone out for stealing?

Let them think whatever they want because the propaganda is been there for far to long for the Serbs to think otherwise.

I'm not saying we have no bad people but just like any other country we have bad and good but to Serbians we are all bad and thank God we have nothing to do with them now since Kosovo is independent.

No, it is Albanians who are notorious for destroying forests. In Albania, illegal woodcutting has done a number on the forests. Once crossing the line to Macedonia and Kosovo, things are improved, but not for long if the Albanians keep getting their way.

I've never been a victim of theft, theft, theft from Albanians who I've dealt with in real life. Never had a problem with a Kosovar-Albanian man who was a hotel bellhop in midtown Manhattan when we visited New York City years ago, additionally,I wasn't a victim of theft when it came to meeting Kosovar-Albanian refugees who used to reside in Moncton,New Brunswick years ago,my family and brother in laws had no such problems with an Albanian waiter when they ate at a restaurant in Rome or Tuscany,Italy.I also wasn't a victim of theft from Kosovar-Albanian pizzeria owners or operators in Halifax,Nova Scotia,Canada and finally no such trouble with this elderly Kosovar-Albanian man who resides in Fredericton that I've communicated with. However I can say that last year that I dealt with an Albanian b92 viewer who was rude and weird ( no need to say rude, rude, rude and weird, weird, weird.)

Views like that are expressed behind closed doors in the UK by white people towards asian and afro-carribean communities. These white people are considered vile racists and are despised by the great majority of the British public, it's a shame that your views cannot be shared with the British public so that they can see what lies behind the mask of Albanian Kosovo.

Please carry on, you're doing more damage to the cause of an independent Kosovo than any Serbian nationalist could possibly do.
