I've always said the best thing for Serbia to do, is to recognise the independence of Kosovo south of the Ibar river and have autonomy for the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo in return.

Nobody wins and everybody looses but more importantly everyone gains peace and stability.

Who is considered to achieve the objectives of force is wrong!

OMG Ian- preaching to the choir. I think Serbs would take partition and control of religious sites. I know I would. We have been talking about a sustainable solution til the cows come home. North of Ibar Serbia, churches Serbia. Water, power, transport through Serbia, UN, OSCE, to Kosovo. Crikey, the albs get almost all anyway. If i were Dell, I would grab it.
It really pisses me off that Serbs have been looking for a way out, while the albs have been whistling dixie. God knows, we may even prosper.

I wrote in an earlier message that I thought Tadic's hand shake was not an accident. I now see these statements as coordinated activity by Serbia, and its neighbours to break the impasse. HM Queen the UK head of State recently shook the hand of a former Irish terrorist. If she can do this then its about time Serbia and kosova, Croatia and other neighbours in the Western Balkans started talking. Economically you are all reliant on each other like we all are in Europe. Recognise your similarities and your shared history rather than your differences. This is a very positive move.

Nikolic seems to be ready to recognize Kosova. Yet he will bash Tadic for shaking Thacis hand. What a hypocrite lol.
Same goes for Dacic, had he been given the opportunity he would of shook Thacis hand too. Tadic is still smarter than both of them combined.

Nikolic is not as dumb as he looks, apparently he is laying the ground work for capitulation. "The state of Kosovo" are his words not mine. Serbia's top dog is finally coming to terms with getting much less than he has led the Serb people to expect.

Usually the nationalists are the best people to make deals.
If Tadic would have said the same thing,he would have crucified by Zoran or Ari Gold&co.But when Nikolic is saying the same is no problem.

Anyway,is good to see that Nikolic is back to work after the campain and he can see the reality on the ground.
What he is looking is some sort of authonomy for North Kosovo in exchange for Kosovo membership in UN without recognising from Serbia.
In this case both sides can claim victory,Kosovo because they preserve the territory and gets the UN membership,and Serbia can claim that they didnt recognise Kosovo and gets some sort of presence in North.
Hope things get better for both Albanians and Serbs in Albania,Kosovo and Serbia.We can trade better than fight each other.Glad to hear that albanian watermelow are successfully being traded in Belgrade and Shkup(Scopje).

My hero? Where have I ever said Nikolic is my hero ahaha wtf. No, I have no allegiance or trust in any Serbian politician that exists. I can think on my own two feet and these old ass people who claim to be the most qualified to lead our country of Serbia are not convincing at all.

Eventually they'll all be thrown into jail the entire political class...whatever Nikolic says has absolutely no bearing on me whatsoever.

Nikolic has been saying what the dogs in the street have been for ages, i.e. partition. Belgrade keeps N. Kosovo and the churches while the rest including the enclaves south of the Ibar goes to Pristina. Anyway the enclaves will be so Daytonised to the extent that Pristina's involvement will be kept to a minimal. Everyone wins and loses. Belgrade loses the remainder of Kosovo but through the Serb and Gorani enclaves still can exert influence. Pristina loses N. Kosovo but in return gets what it badly craves, recognition from Belgrade. Cue peace and reconciliation.

Despite what the Serb and Albanian nationalists say, its all over bar the bitching and shouting.

Keep this way of thinking and soon you will not be the president in Presevo Valley,Vojvodina and Sandzak. Kosovo partition it will also mean partition of Serbia.If you want all the serbs in the region to be ruled by Belgrade then all the other nations in the region have the right to rule on their people that live in Serbia.

I agree with Nikolic. Serbia has no real sovereignty in the ethnic Albanian areas of Kosovo. But dont mistake this with Serbia having no sovereignty in Kosovo at all. Serbia has pretty much full sovereignty over the North and the Southern enclaves of Strpce, Gracanica, Novo Brdo, Partes, Klokot, and Gorazdevac. Serbia has all of its full functioning health, governmental, legal, and educational institutions in these areas of Kosovo. These areas of Kosovo also vote in Serbian elections and use the Serbian Dinar. They pretty much function normally as a part of Serbia short of a Serbian military and police presence. I think the best solution to the Kosovo issue is either partition. No other solution would be feasible. The partition would give Serbia Northern Kosovo, Gracanica, Novo Brdo, Strpce, the Kosovo Polje battlefield and area around it, small portions of land around the Decani and Pec monasteries, and the Serbian quarter of the city of Prizren. The Albanians would keep all of the major cities and ethnic Albanian areas and would also be given the Albanian areas of Presevo, Bujanovac, and Medvedja. Its a fair solution. Serbs keep their enclave both north and south of the Ibar and also all of their important monasteries that lay outside of Serbian areas. Albanians keep all of the major cities and their people and also receive parts of the Presevo valley. Whats fair is fair. The Kosovo Albanians get a state of their own that includes Presevo and the Serbs keep their areas.

I personally have always supported partition-it is a win win situation for Serbia and that is why SAD and its Albanian minions oppose it. Serbia retains a historic portion of Kosovo and at the same time is rid of 2 million troublemaking Abanians. But if the Albanians decide to engage in the "final solution" to the Serb question in northern Kosovo, all cards are off the table. Then we will see guerilla warfare and not even Geraldo Rivera will be ebough to save the KLA this time. People ask what will Serbia do with the estimated 100,000 serbs if they are expelled from Kosovo-let me give you a quick answer-they will find fully furnished free homes in the presovo valley. And if NATO decides to act-the outcome this time will be very different.

What you guys do not understand is that north Kosovo is more important than member of UN for Prishtina. Recognize first, than we talk for exchange territories, north Kosova for Presheva Bujanovc.
