What a load of crap. My relative is married to a muslim. They used to live in Banja Luka. They now live in Malmoe but they travel to Banja Luka every year without any problems. I went there last year and there are signs of nationalism but that's about it. Its worse for serbs in muslim and croat areas then it is for muslims and croats in RS. You now live in the west and you wouldn't trade that for Banja Luka even if the war never happend. You need an excuse for not wanting to return to Banja Luka so you make up a story of how you are disscriminated agains. You don't think muslims are being discriminated against in the west? If you don't then you are a liar.

It is far too late for the cajoling and begging, but nice try. Hope to see you in Albanian language class some day soon.

pre 11 godina

Albanians are not easily fooled by the treachery exhibited by some on this forum. All the pleading in the world will not deceive the Kosovars, they know their oppressors too well. It was not tit for tat as their neighbors would have you think. No amount of the rewriting of history, before 1999 or after, will disway the world of the dastardly and evil deeds of the Heavenly People.

If the war never happened I would raise my children in Banja Luka, but I refuse to raise my children in an environment where they would be discriminated against simply because of their faith and their name.
(Safet, 11 July 2012 03:42)
================================

And a lot of Serbs would've raised their children in Sarajevo if it were not for the war and expulsions, so what's your point?
It happened to everyone. I personally know of many families from there who had to relocate. I am sure they feel the same way. The apartments they left behind are now occupied by Muslims and the same goes for RS. Both sides have done horrendous things to each other. If only you would try to find out what Serbs went through. Do you honestly believe that your Arab buddies were gentle on the Serbs? Think again.

"Serbia should accept reality of sovereign Kosovo"
You are spinning your wheels Mr.Phillip Gordon.Kosovo will never ever be a sovereign state,as big as you think you are, you can not make it happen.
Kosovo is heart and soul of Serbia.Better leave it as its independent but not sovereign.Even if you decide to bomb Serbia again no one would ever sign the document of surrendering Kosovo.

Safet

hon jonstone,

I know the truth can be inconvenient sometimes, but I am simply stating the facts. To date, I have not heard of one instance where Serbian families were forced to put white flags on their homes to indicate that they were Serb or where they were forced to sign over their property to the Fed at gunpoint. However, if you did, please enlighten me. All of these things happened to Bosniak families all over the RS, including my own family.

I am not entirely sure why some Serbian families have left the Fed. Perhaps they left out of fear, shame, or hate. All of these reasons— except for the hate part— are fairly reasonable when you consider what they have done to their neighbors throughout the war.

In the end, it does not matter that the overall population proportions in BiH are relatively similar now to what they were prior to the wars if a Bosniak, Serb or Croat cannot live on the land where their families have lived for generations. My family has lived in Banja Luka for over four generations and now we do not live there anymore simply because of the war. Now that is bullocks my friend. If the war never happened I would raise my children in Banja Luka, but I refuse to raise my children in an environment where they would be discriminated against simply because of their faith and their name.

Many Serbs know the truth but are afraid and/or ashamed to say it.

Unfortunately you are not ashamed by your mindless comments, but keep them coming! The rest of the world needs to read about albanian alternative reality.

hon jonstone

pre 11 godina

very interesting take on it safet. you claim that bosniaks and croats were expelled from territory of rs, yet seem rather oblivious to the fact that fed is virtually devoid of serbs. the overall population proportions in bih are relatively similar now to what they were prior to wars, so by simple deduction it was a virtual population swap. so if i follow your biased analysis further you would consider that serbs who are no longer in territory of fed left on their own, while bosniaks and croats in territory of rs were forced out. bullocks my friend. it is actually rather appearant that all sides forced undesirables out of their territories.
regarding kosovo, and your claim that serbs left on their own accord, i must repeat bullocks to that. in fact the 2 million cleansed and reinstituted albanians left on their own in 1999, only to return again in 1999, where as hundreds of thousands of serbs left, and have yet to return. no matter how much pristina's government likes to encourage returnees, the population of kosovo does everything it can to discourage such returns. again, your claim that they left on their own, is rather childish and silly at best. these people were forced to pick between fleeing and danger, so yes they picked to leave, but it wasn't of their own choice asd per the facts that danger was thrown into their descision making process.
but hey, thanks for the heavily biased , fact-light opinion of fantasy stories.

Sir, Serbia is a very small country with no UN security council seat, not a huge influence on global politics and the way the world works.

Serbia cannot be that important to court on accepting this 'new reality'...

Unless of course Serbia's stance on Kosovo is after all important for the relevant parties involved. If that is the case then Kosovo* is not independent until Serbia says it is which has always been the case.

mick

Kosovo was never a country and never will be, simple as that.
There are several options.
1. Kosovo stays Serbian
2. Kosovo becomes an American or EU colony
3. Partition, north of Ibar=Serbian
the rest = for Albania to occupy.

But I cannot imagine that Kosovo will be an internationally recognize independent country.
And I go for option 1 off course.

But, isn't it also a reality that northern Kosovo is not under Pristina's rule? And that there is virtually sovereign entity called RS that has little to do with Sarajevo? "

(Sreten, 10 July 2012 14:27)

You cannot compare RS with Kosovo. Serbs voluntarily moved out of Kosovo while Bosniaks and Croats were forced out of RS through genocide, ethnic cleansing and etc. Perhaps some of your comrades such as Russia and Greece would recognize the partition of RS but all of the countries that truly matter such as the U.S., U.K., Germany and etc. would not. Therefore, RS will never separate from Bosna i Hercegovina. As far as Kosovo is concerned, even your newly elected president, nikolic, accepted that Kosovo is as good as gone.

And at the same time the US government is providing full support to war criminal Ante Gotovina before the ICTY (via a 'private' proxy of course). the last thing they want is for him to expose how much help he directly received from the US. Gordon supporting another war criminal shows what the US priorities are in reality, the opposite to what they declare in public.

This person is obviously one of the State Department's military-economic apparatchikssent to test the waters with the new Serbian government and to repeat the well-known positions of the US corporate fascist state.

Looking back at the last 10 years of US foreign policies and military adventures one can see nothing but destruction. In Iraq more than 1 million dead and 7 million displaced and continuous killings on large scale. In Afghanistan, they failed miserably in their fight against the Taliban despite having unlimited military and cash resources. Now they are trying to show some foreign policy success by shoring up the sinking U.S. colony of Bondsteel /Kosova.

Having lost their ally Tadic who was doing their bid on Kosovo and the process of further recognitions totally stalled, the alarm bells started ringing in Washington DC hence the visit by the assistant secretary of state to exert pressure on Serbia into submission. But in Serbia, the bigger they come, the harder they fall.

"Gordon said that he used the Monday meeting to extend congratulations to Jahjaga and other institutions with regard to the decision of the International Steering Committee to end supervised independence for Kosovo.
He noted that this comes as a result of considerable progress Kosovo made in slightly over four years since its declaration of independence. "

Nice words for: It comes as a result of internationals getting tired to see real progress and losing hope that a democratic, European Kosovo can be established.

"Gordon welcomed "the commitment of Kosovo institutions to the fight against corruption and organized crime".

Read: There is the commitment, but there are no actions which confirm it.

"The Kosovo president once more condemned the crime against the Serb couple in Talinovci, pointing out that such crimes "constitute a major obstacle to the return of displaced persons which is a process Kosovo institutions support"."

Correct. That's why these killings happen: To intimidate Serbs, keep them from returning, so the Albanian ursurpers can keep the stolen properpty and seized appartments. Condemnding a crime is not enough, as long as 'Kosovo institutions' like KPS are neither willing nor capable of finding the perpetrators.

Furthermore, her wording is a bit ambiguous: Does the Kosovo insitutions support the process of return, or the process of being a main obstacle to the return? Maybe both, the first on paper, and the last in actions.

US & EU are creating Northern Ireland and Jerusalem scenario in Balkans.
This will be the total opposite of stability and democracy, not sure if that is something they understand, cos sometime politics dont make scenes and people who know better are usualy afraid to say something fearing for their own chair.
US wanted to dominate and expand their bases throuhout Europe and they saw opportunity to cash in on this conflict, same as for Slovenia,Bosnia & Croatia.
They blindly crossed all international laws and caused so much bloodshed across the World.Their formula is based on lies, deception as well as hipnotism of Serbian politicians, rethorics, bulling, bribes and heavy NATO aviations.
They got what they wanted ,Serbian people have lost, mainly becouse we found out that apart from being deceived, also that World has lost balance of power and that UN,Internationl Court of Justice,Security Councile, etc are not worth the paper they written oN.
US have shown World true colours and the World is aware of this new hipocricy, though noone is saying anything, but unnofficialy it is over.
What you did to Serbia over past decade is hard to swallow, now they even have guts to come mentore our new politicions on what politics they will lead. They dont support dividing Kosovo along Ethnic lines, but they supported terrost organizations in Kosovo to fight for spliting it from Serbia, even aiding them militarily and even being part of it(Nato bombing 1999)Irony doesnt stop there unfortunatly...

Stop your wishful thinking. Even on hard times the EU and the US are massively powerful and rich.

Your salvation will not come from the collapse of NATO countries.

However, Serbia should not be drawn on this gradualist acceptance plan. Pristina is the cause of the problem and is being rewarded every which way for it. The dialogue is further reward.

Kosovo is Serbian land, and international dialogue must be turned back to reestablishing Serbia's governance within an international protectorate of a strongly autonomous province. The idea of independence must be asserted to be a temporary state.

When the US says independence, Serbia should say no.

In my view Serbia needs to take the lead on repopulating Kosovo with its loyal nationals if it wants the land back. There is no other plausible route likely to emerge for regaining full control of the territory.

If Serbia is serious about getting Kosovo back, it needs to have millions more babies and ensure that lots of them grow up to flood Kosovo.

Phillip Gordon and his predecessors have been tell us the same line year after year and since 1999 nothing has changed and nor will it change because the status quo is the worst form of prison one can imagine for the Albanians in Kosovo.
It has become a pilgrimage to Belgrade at least three or four times a year to personally tell the Serbs to accept reality, but if it’s such a foregone conclusion why bother? Surely the mighty windbags from Washington don’t even need to visit Belgrade? There is now a desperation as its their last hurrah before the sun sets on their empire with catastrophic losses in Iraq and now Afghanistan and are trying very hard to sell these losses as victories. Today, the US is what it does best; printing more and more money to stimulate the economy and also preparing to sell more bonds on the international market.
Loved the news item on radio last Friday. Obama was campaigning and making stupid claims of creating over 4 million jobs during his term etc then the news came on and the leading story was “Dow Jones slumps following poor job creation data for the month of June 2012. It says it all and they talk about only having 8.2% unemployed – me thinks Gordon’s home has a lot more to worry than Kosova.

The US is contributing to the stability of the region, said Mr. Gordon. What a hipocricy. Forcing the independence of a breakaway region without even supporting the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina back in 2008, dividing the world on that matter and granting the independence without achieving standards (a condition set by the international community) is not really a way of achieving stability in the region. Or perhaps the US administration has a weird perception of stability, by decreeing what is stabilty and what not, according to own affinities.

WHat democracy in Kosovo is this American diplomat talking about, when Serbs are still murdered and living under horrible conditions stigmatized by the Albanians? The American administration has to let go of the past and have a glipse of the reality: Kosovo is by far a democratic and modern society. It is an area shaped by crime and blind racism. Human rights are a value that is unknown to the Kosovan society. If the Americans are sincere to the reasons they bombed Serbia, they should also hold to these principles by holding a firm stance towards the Albanians as well.

Maybe both, the first on paper, and the last in actions.

very interesting take on it safet. you claim that bosniaks and croats were expelled from territory of rs, yet seem rather oblivious to the fact that fed is virtually devoid of serbs. the overall population proportions in bih are relatively similar now to what they were prior to wars, so by simple deduction it was a virtual population swap. so if i follow your biased analysis further you would consider that serbs who are no longer in territory of fed left on their own, while bosniaks and croats in territory of rs were forced out. bullocks my friend. it is actually rather appearant that all sides forced undesirables out of their territories.

Bert

Mr. Gordon has to explain the ways of getting closer to the Serbian community. In the conditions they live in, under constant threats, murders and being coined as criminal and genocidal doesn't really provide with any means in getting closer.
