I think everybody forgot what it was like under the past presidents. With a cowboy like Nikolic at the helm, Serbia is in big trouble.

You never really get rid of it, the criminals adapt, like in America a lot of the old mafiosi have gone to being legit businessmen because it is worth it, but that does not mean if the oppurtunity arose they wouldnt go back to their old methods. In my area, the old-timers control vending companies that provide pool tables, jukeboxes, illegal gambling machines(sign saying "for amusement only" makes them legal and bar pays out discreetly, these make mostt of the money) in bars/pubs, and also vending machines in regular business, but if you try to compete with them in the bars, thats when you get a visit and your head cracked. They are legit but still use the old style of enforcement of their territories if need be. Greeks control the work uniform trade(towels and aprons mostly) around here.

People say the mafia is dead in America, its not dead, they are there, they are just waiting for their oppurtunity to steal again. Risk/Reward situation. I do worry about our new casino business, these casinos piss off the guys who own the "illegal" slot and poker machines that used to be the only source of gambling(other than lottery) in the state. These casinos cut into their profit, which was massive before legal casinos entered.

Organized crime never goes away, you must keep your boot on their necks.

Boris Tadic does not realize that he was in opposition drove his closest associates. The moral would be to resign now, Boris, and not someone think of salt

Tadic has to take responsibility for personal failure and the failure of his party, instead of spitting and looking for blame in others. It seems that it crossed Jelena Trivan madness.

What Tadic is saying seems more like a threat, cause crime flourished during his term. I suppose he will now let criminls run rampant just because he hasn't been reelected. Such an uneuropean behavior.

Former president Tadic suddently got some amnesia:
The crime rate in Serbia has increased tremendously during his terms, making Belgrade especially a highly insecure country where even jouveniles are a potential danger to the citizens. Organized crime has been running rampant and the last couple of explosion in the city center of Belgrade are a consequence of mr. Tadic's rule and the protection of Montenegrin criminal clans.
The goal of DS to fight corruption in the next four years was as far as I remember the same goals set four years ago. So far, the most rampant corruption has been noted among the administrative staff employes by the DS. It has never been so hard to attain anything that you are entitled as a citizen because every DS-appointed clerc seeks to rip you off.

So, I suppose Tadic has too many illusion about anything.

How is it possible that once the DS leader takes care of crime and corruption in Serbia, where it is known that during his tenure crime to flourish?

Zoran

Excuses excuses and poor ones at that. Perhaps he can spend some time weeding out the corruption in his own party. Anyway, just another day of mud slinging.

Tadic was aware that it is waiting time will have to answer, and now comes up with all sorts of lies, but people know very well who he is!

Mr. Tadic...Don't think about future in Serbia. Future is in capable hands. Rather think about your Party colleague, Mr. Djilas. He will overthrown you at next meeting. What you have done, along with your adviser, Mr. Krstic, is the main reason for loosing elections in Serbia. So...think about your future not ours. You know...Tito survived all those years by putting aside his Djilas...You should have done that, for your Djilas long time ago...

Huanito

I do not believe him anything! I did not believe him when he was in power, not now while fighting for supremacy with the deputy party Djilas. Tadic is no longer the president and to me the most. This title "Criminal looks forward to change" the classical spin!
