I have not even started to read the comments to this story yet, but I can hear the comments from loyal Albanians on this site already. There will be multiple excuses about the inaccuracy of this story, but they will never once, not once, admit that maybe the KPS played a bit rough. That is the difference between Serbs and Albanians - Serbs will often daily, ridicule their leadership, whereas Albanians, they would rather die than say a condescending word about the Pristina leadership. Why is that? Is it something cultural?

Simpatiku, the t-shirt and flag was ih his bag, not on his body. Why was he harassed for that? And why did the KPS goon say "this is Albania"? What is wrong with Kosovo Albanians? What are these people afraid of, to act in such cowardly ways? In any case, I am glad that there is international press condemning the work of Pristina's KPS. The world is actually aware already, hence why most countries do recognize this US sponsored hell hole, but it is good for Pristina to get the black eye it deserves. Albanians want an ethnically pure Albanian Kosovo, that is picture clear, and more press needs to come forward to say this.

You are right, unfortunately! In Kosovo it doesn't make any sense! You cannot compare KPS (former KLA 'freedom fighters') with a professional police force in a normal state which is following the laws and has some standards on how to treat citizens and visitors. KPS is more like police in some African country who things they are the big guys and can act like they want to.

Where is the part where he called them monkeys and said they are not doing their job? Those are his words.
This guy is a freelancer who has no chance in getting a real job with a professional newspaper. He spends his time on Twitter and serbian blogs, asking people to help pay the fine and a lawyer so he can sue them.

The power of freedom of expression is one of the main priciples in the world. Although I support Kosovo's independence (because as it stands now, it seems to me as the best solution possible), the truth is, that majority of the Albanians came to Kosovo as late as the second half of the 19th century. They ethnically cleansed the Serbian population from 1876 to 1911 and following that, they became the majority there.

Well our paths have crossed, indeed Kristian has blogged at B92 in the past. I think it would be fair (imo) to say that he is slightly pro Serbian these days, but its also true to say that many from countries with high living standards produce individuals with contrary views who desire to contradict 'official' policy. 'Official' policy being official western policy.

So I suppose he wanted to see the view from the ground to record his own experiences and this was the result. It does pose questions relating to embedding oneself and the boundaries between that and participation but in no way should Kahrs have been harassed.

And yes as somebody has pointed out he does work as a business advisor, but obviously continues his work as a journalist. There is nothing wrong with that in this case there can certainly be no question of a conflict of interest.

I have read a many things criticizing Kristian of being pro-serbian.

Well let's just state a couple of facts:

1. Kristian was NOT pro-serbian when he arived to Kosovo in KFOR uniform. He was rather multiethnicly, multiculturaly and pro-democratic oriented and wanted to participate in oginizing such life and society in Kosovo.

2. It was during and after his service as INTELIGENCE officer in Norwegian KFOR forces that he came to insight that Albanians had just homegenous great Albania in mind where the only good Serb is dead Serb. This insight came despite the propaganda about some multhietnic "kosovar" society.

3. Albanians had all the time to influence Kristian to their favour while he has served in Kosovo, yet they failed to do so. Instead Kristian voulunteerly apologised to all Serbian about all misdeeds commited by NATO and KFOR regarding the bombing of 1999 and subsequent ocupation of Kosovo.

So if that means that he is pro-serbian, well so be it, he has all right to do so! My question (to all anti-serbian Albanians) is how come that you express such high level of hatred towards everything Serbian? More so since the name of the area is Kosovo and Metohija. Where Kosovo is short for Kosovo polje (blackird field) and Metohija comes from greek metoh meaning church estate.

You cannot compare KPS (former KLA 'freedom fighters') with a professional police force in a normal state which is following the laws and has some standards on how to treat citizens and visitors. Although I support Kosovo's independence (because as it stands now, it seems to me as the best solution possible), the truth is, that majority of the Albanians came to Kosovo as late as the second half of the 19th century. They ethnically cleansed the Serbian population from 1876 to 1911 and following that, they became the majority there.

Absolutely disgraceful behaviour by the Keystone Cops of Pristina. There was absolutely no grounds for these people to be harassed and arrested on the basis of exercising their democratic right of freedom of speech and expression. Unconfirmed reports of women and children forced to attend a religious service in their underwear. If true, heads deserve to roll.

Well our paths have crossed, indeed Kristian has blogged at B92 in the past. I think it would be fair (imo) to say that he is slightly pro Serbian these days, but its also true to say that many from countries with high living standards produce individuals with contrary views who desire to contradict 'official' policy. 'Official' policy being official western policy.

So I suppose he wanted to see the view from the ground to record his own experiences and this was the result. It does pose questions relating to embedding oneself and the boundaries between that and participation but in no way should Kahrs have been harassed.

And yes as somebody has pointed out he does work as a business advisor, but obviously continues his work as a journalist. There is nothing wrong with that in this case there can certainly be no question of a conflict of interest.
