Well its our strength that they fear the most. Its a Serbia following its own course and focusing heavily on cleaning up corruption, the economy and our military that scares them straight to hell. (Ari Gold, 3 July 2012 18:48) Ari are you also a stand up comedian its you Serbs that fear Croatians ,not to fear. We know Serbia is going down by its own medieval self inflicted foolishness. When it implodes by the weight of its own evil doings hopefully it only affects Serbs/Serbia this time around.

Ecoman, you are right. Every Serbian institution needs to be completely cleansed of corruption and an entirely new system needs to be put in place. However, nobody in Serbia is capable of doing that, but the Serbian diaspora is. There are as many Serbs inside of Serbia as there are out..and probably more. And apart from the criminal tycoons/politicians, we are the richest Serbs on the planet.

Serbia has a lot of potential but that will never be reached if the entire country is not being managed by capable people who truly want to see Serbia take its place as the strongest, most developed nation in the region.

Now one of these random Albanians lurking on this site (although I'm starting to think its really just one guy using different names) or possibly Lenard will tell you this is impossible and Serbia is "in shambles" and as weak and pathetic as the rest of the region and nothing will ever change that...

Of course its up to Serbs to wise up..As big of a scumbag Hashim Thaci is, he is not the enemy he is just a cockroach. WE tend to be our own worst enemy by being disunited and often a segment of society rejects Serbian patriotism and exceptional-ism for whatever is the "in thing" in the Balkans at the time (Austria-Hungary, Yugoslav communism and now 'EU has no alternative')

I would vote for new elections in a heartbeat, as long as there is no Dacic, Dinkic, or Nikolic.

Well, Nikolic is here to stay for a few more years as he is president. That wouldn't change with parliamentary election.

I would vote for new elections in a heartbeat, as long as there is no Dacic, Dinkic, or Nikolic. Oh oh, that's the new coalition being offered today. OK, I can live with Nikolic for about 6 months, then dump him, because he has decided that he wants to spend more time with his family, as in actual children and a spouse. All of this can happen in Serbian politics, especially when it is advised from DC.

All I know is that all this political mumbo jumbo from various parties in just that, BS. All politicians talk a good game, heck, I bet I could do the same if I knew I would be in charge of some country's budget, or what not? How in the world do you decipher the crooks from the honest in Serbia's government, you can't. They are crooked and or look the other way, as I believe was Tadic's case. Serbian government is corrupt, fact. How does it change, by placing the same corrupt players into the game again, no. The answer is foreign oversight. As much as Serbians do not like it, and as proud as they are, they will have to accept it to move forward. Left to the devices of the Serbian politicians, you will have what is going on today, the same old crooks jockeying for another round of fiscal mayhem. Seriously Serbia, enough already. Your politicians are crooks, throw them out. It's the only chance we have.

Bert, is that what a ruling government is about, to keep an eye out on all the rest and keep them honest? If you suspect they are not honest, or they have done something unsavory in previous governments, what the F are they even doing in the present government? That says to me, shady people are involved, with shady deals. Should Nikolic's party be tasked with the responsibility that Dinkic's party never steals again? Should Nikolic be concerned that Dacic never tries to take over the country again, like his mentor Milosevic, and run us into oblivion again? Should the other coalition parties worry about Nikolic's true intentions, that after he back-stabbed Seselj, now in the Hague, he would not become the nationalistic radical he once was? These politicians change their colors like autumn leaves, how in the world can you believe any of them. The only hope is, NO MORE POLITICIANS IN POWER THAT WERE IN POWER BEFORE 2008. That;s it! Get rid of the lot. As for the DS, that is another story of corruption all in itself. They are out of the picture for now, so we will expose those cheating, lying bastards, at a different time.

Sasche and Bert, you sound like you belong on Sesame Street, and your political views are made for a juvenile audience. These rogue characters, SPS, SNS, and is it UPS, I always forget Dinkic's party, whatever, are LOSERS for Serbia. They have been very instrument in bringing this country to its knees, and you guys think that they can make Serbia stand back up again, why? Why would these band of thieves be any different the second, or third time around? I just cannot understand some Serbian voters/people. Why are you so trusting, and give so much hope to people that have a track record of causing nothing but destruction and outright thievery to Serbian society. I am at a loss, and am starting to wonder if Serbia is actually self-destructive, as some Western analysts claim?

Any government that does not include the Democrats will have a difficult tast in improving all the economic fallacies they have cause. It may be true that URS has participated in almost all financial wrongdoings in the last three governments, but they will have the Progressives looking over them.
The government that is being negotiated has two fates: either it may last long if their committed in what they are promising, or in may be very short if either party decides to work on its own.

Max

This is a very surprising, and may I add mature, statement by Alex Vucic. Serbia is in a such a state where it is important what is to be done, rather than who to put on which position. The Progressives over time are proving themselves worthy of the first place they won during these elections.

Bert

pre 11 godina

"It should define goals and measures to be taken in the realms of national, economic, and social policies, EU integration, foreign policy, fight against monopolies, corruption and crime, justice reforms, and dismantling of the partisan system."

These are the promises Serbs have heard four years ago. On the other hand, two of the three parties participating in the future government were in the previous who made the same promises. Thus, the task of the SNS will be to keep an eye on the SPS and URS not to make the same mistakes they done and to keep them in the track of these commitments.
