Croatia is no member of EU yet, and Croatia's economy is only based on tourism, like it was in YU.

There is no 'he-he' about this. Joking is about the level of seriousness too many give to their standard of driving.
To reduce this to stupid statements about nationalistic attitudes is…… stupid.
Safe driving is a skill that is hard to acquire. There is too much unjustified good self-opinion and not enough consideration for the lives of others.
Being a good driver is much harder than just learning to press with the right foot while disengaging good manners, good sense and the rest of the brain.
