"This is so undemocratic: outside powers choosing the government instead of the people. "

Sure, sure, Assad was chosen very 'democratically' by the 'people'. I mean his father was, about 50 years ago. Assad Jr. 'inherited' the power to become president after his father died. LOL :)

But elections are to happen in Libya, like they have in Egypt and Tunisia.

Syrians will be able to have elections in the future and this way be able to choose their government instead of being controlled by the al-Assad family, where there will never be free elections.

One would take your postings seriously if you used the same tenacity to call for free elections in Saudi Arabia,Bahrain,Jordan Yemen,Qatar etc.Or are you scared that Britain will lose the large defence orders from the house of Saud?

This is so undemocratic: outside powers choosing the government instead of the people.
All the violence started from western-backed thugs because the west isn't happy with the government as it isn't a puppet and doesn't suit western interests. Same happened in Libya.

The Syrian opposition has made it clear they want no part of a government if Assad is still in power.
B92

The opposition Syrian National Council and based in Washington, DC, was created by the Council on Foreign Relations, based in New York with offices in Washington, DC, and has received funding in excess of $50 million to organize an illegal opposition and sponsor regime change in Syria. The government of Syria is fighting for survival against an insurrection funded by the USA and Saudi Arabia.Hillary has got some nerve to condemn Syrian government's actions after American forces killed more than a million civilians in neighboring Iraq.

If Assad accepts the new plan cooked at the UN he will definitely end up with a noose on his neck and Syria will end up the same way as Iraq and Libya. The new regimes in those countries are far worse than before with living standards collapsing and daily violence settling old scores.Prior to the invasion Iraq and Libya had one of the highest living standards not only in the Middle East but in the world. With Syria going the ground will be prepared for an attack on Iran thus completing the IMF/bankers control of the resources in the Middle East.

We'll have to wait and see what will be Russia's role in the fate of Syria. Maybe Russia should see the handwriting on the wall clearly which says... Putin, after Syria and Iran you are next.
