Steven this is about the new government and its already clear that things are going to be rocky. If you theory is right then I expect SNS to break off talks with SPS and to say that they can't reach agreement in order to have new elections. Then according to you SNS (and SPS) can expect an increase in support.

However, if you are wrong, and SNS party strategists fear that voters will be angry at SNS (and SPS) for messing around SNS will have to give SPS what it wants.

How do you think that SNS managed to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory?

By the way I don't think that support for DS would increase in repeat elections held say tomorrow. I think that support for SRS,DSS,LDP and Dveri would increase as a protest against the main parties.

"Well its too late for SNS to pull back on the deal now - they would be blamed by the public in repeat elections and lose support."

Well...what can I say about your sentence above...If I agree with you then both of us would be wrong. I don't think that Progressives would loose support in repeated elections. DS is history and you know it, I know it and people knows it. Only two parties will collect most of votes and you know who they are..Progressives and Socialists. Democrats are going through rough period and they will divide into two, maybe three small parties. Bojan Pajtic will be leader of one of them and Djilas as leader of second. Those two doesn't have a chance against Progressives at repeated elections. Even if DS remains at one piece it'll be similar. Now, when we have election results and negotiations in progress and socialists with huge appetite for power, and with building affair with Minister of Defence who doesn't want to give answers to media... do you really think that people of Serbia will gave their trust to someone like them? I don't think so...Repeated election could give a whole different balance and that in favor of Progressives and, i think, much more votes in their favor.

I thought SNS already agreed to support SPS and Dacic as new PM. Now it sounds like the discussions on a coalition will only start now or what?

It looks already as if SNS is retreating in its support for the new government. A poor start before the government is in place. Now Miskovic and other monopolist types are wielding influence as Vucic suggests.

Well its too late for SNS to pull back on the deal now - they would be blamed by the public in repeat elections and lose support.

However, if things start to go wrong, this could be one of the most shortlived governments in Serbian history.
