It's interesting that G17 is in every government regardless of election results. No matter how people vote G17 is in government for a very long time now. I don't even know who these people are any more.

Steve, Ralph, and anon, you all have good thoughts and ideas, but the problem with Serbian politics is Serbian politicians, all of them. They are a close-knit, small circle of people, although they all chirp a different tune, their objectives are the same - stay in power. Serbia is run by a political mafia, made up of money men, political yes men, and a mix of outside interests. Unfortunately, the average Serbian citizen's interest is low on the ladder. These same clowns have been playing musical chairs in government, for a couple of decades now, and they keep going with no end in sight. Do you actually think, that if even one of these characters really cared about the Serbian people, that a government would have been formed by now? God how I wish I could get Donald Trump in Belgrade to tell them all, "You're Fired!". It would be the best day ever in the history of Serbia.

It is said that SPS has a deal with URS / G17. The deal enables G17 to be in any government which SPS is involved in. Plus it (the extra mandates) gives Dacic even more power to blackmail other political parties into giving him what he wants.

This is one of the main reasons why negotiations to form a government are stalling - Dacic is asking for a higher price each time (plus you want Dacic, you get Dinkic), but Dacic can't quite bring himself to go through on a deal with SNS.

If he carries on like this there may be no alternative to an SNS / DS government, which also suits Dacic as SPS would become the main opposition party and could come 2nd in the next elections.

I think the best thing would be for DS to pull out of talks for the government and make up Dacic's mind for him and humiliate him into the bargain. Dacic would go running to SNS, but would have less say in government both because of his public humiliation, but also because he can't threaten to go elsewhere.

Oh, and the law should be changed to not allow well paid politicians to sit around doing nothing for more than a month. If within a month a government cannot be formed then repeat elections. That would focus the minds of the cynical, greedy types like Dacic. Better still, suspend the pay of the politicians during this period, that would sort things out!

Maybe it is wise to start with reducing the number of parliament members from 250 to 100? And the n umber of ministries from 21 (?) to about 8? It's time the politicians in Serbia take a look in the mirror first, before talking about others...

You want influence over money in Serbia? Are you nuts? We want to know where did you come up with 5 mil Euros for campaign? 5 mil..that's number with 6 zeros. People are starving in Serbia and your party (URS) gave so much money for campaign...Shame on you!!! And now you want control over finance? You are lucky that somebody even thought of you instead of filing charges...
