Serbs claim they urged women and children to leave Adem Jashari house but they didn't. Probably brave Jashari didn't allow them and prefered to hide behind their backs. It was dirty KLA tacticks which unfortunately worked. Mind that nevertheless I don't think that Serbs were right in this case.

One thing to remember is the agreement was actually for Serbia's sake not Kosovo. An agreement where states were not identified by statehood and by name only had already existed and everyone else was happy with that. Kosovo was invited to all functions(outside of Serbia) under those rules with the exception to those that had charters requiring UN membership. It was Serbia that was walking out and not participating in the meetings, Kosovo was there.
Most regional meetings really do not accomplish much more that forming alliances among the people present which is why they are important.
If Serbia now rejects the agreement it they who will not be represented at these events not Kosovo. They have already tried the ultimatum of its either us or them, and the answer was almost always we will invite both and each party can decide if they want to attend.

What a joke, do you ever see Turkish Politicians meeting Kurdish diplomats(PKK), or opening Kurd diplomatic offices in Ankara? NO! It just goes to show how pathetic serbian politicans are desperate to get payed off by god knows who anymore to give up Kosovo and plundge Serbia into the middle ages(utter chaos). Yes it is a reality, Serbs themselves will give up Kosovo themselves. All the Generals and soliders who gave their lives to defend Kosovo in 1999, where handed over to the Hague by the Serbs themselves. The EU is despeate to now even allow Serbia a square millimeter of Kosovo.

The only one that can make Kosovo a country is Serbia
(Ari Gold, 20 June 2012 18:50)

I fully agree; only Serbia can make Kosovo a country for Serbia, the same way that, say, only Australia was able to make Kosovo a country for Australia.

Serbs happy? Sure, if you are happy to have to be escorted by NATO in your daily life.
(Peggy, 20 June 2012 22:52)

What’s the problem with the NATO escort which has been sent there by Russia & co via 1244 which is strongly supported by Serbs who can only be happy about that.

Albanians here are delusional. If Nikolic accepts to meet with the president of make believe Kosova, and that is how he views it, it will mean nothing. It is for EU appeasement, nothing else. You guys are drooling for recognition and equality, but you will not get from Nikolic, believe me.
(Ecoman, 20 June 2012 18:12)

You got it all wrong buddy. Short term memory seems to be a Serbian trait. If you bother to remember the Albanian didn't want to to Stefanovic to start with. You had the US and Albania (on orders from Kosova) voting against such talks a few years ago. You had Jeremic flying thousands of miles to convince others to back up technical talks. As usual that was then presented as a diplomatic victory. You guys were begging to talk. As usual though the Serbs do one thing and claim something else happened. Borko is not an isolated case. He signs something and claims something else (verbally, as if that even matters). If it was up to us, it would be perfect to stop this talks right now. We're not going to be in the EU for a while. We're not in a rush. You are.

Serbs are not going to move from Kosovo because that is their home and has been for a lot longer than yours for many of you are relatively new to Kosovo. Kosovo has been Serbia for many centuries and longer than white America and yet you still come on here and spew your garbage.
You should kiss Tito's behind for allowing you to flood over the border and harass Serbs at will until you changed the demographic.

Good job B92 on including the link to the agreement.

This is what Stefanovic is saying: "If it (the agreement) does not say that the footnote is on the nameplate, does that mean it says the footnote is in documents, like Cooper claims? Where is the footnote then?” wondered Stefanović."

This is what the agreement says, point 5: "Where new agreements are to be initialed and/or signed, a representative of 'Kosovo*' will sign under the designation in paras 2 and 3 above.

So the answer to his question is YES. It does not only MEAN what Cooper is saying, it actually SAYS what Cooper is saying. It is written there, black pixels on white pixels, there is no room for different interpretations.

Unless the agreement he has is different from that of B92 of course.

On another note, high-level meetings will be a positive development if they actually happen. Did not expect this from Nikolic, we'll see.

Borko says that " if that is how the agreement is going to be interpreted then there is no agreement on regional representation". Well Mr Borko, if you are implying that the agreement has to be renegotiated, then EU will have to take back Sebia's EU Candidate Status, which it got as a result of that agreement. Everyone knows EU will not reverse neither one. You just have to open your eyes next time you put your signature on a peice of paper. But then again, I am sure you were fully councious ad to what you were signing because no state would approve an agreement without it being reviewed by experts in the field.

I think in the last 48 hours made two big realizations with respect to his career.
Initially he thought he could continue being the negotiator and have a job by saying that " having the president of Serbia meet the president of Kosovo is tantamount to recognition of Kosovo as a state.
He then slept on that statement for a bit, and then realized that what he had signed will eventually damage Serbias "interests" and he will br used as the scapegoat by the government if the day. So what does he do? He says, sure, its ok to take it to the next level and have the two presidents meet. This allows him to slowly withdraw from the picture and have any subsequent failure blamed on Nikolic and co.

Have a nice day!

The fact that as it seems the further negotiations will take place in highest state levels means two things:

1. Serbia is slowly acknowledging the reality: Kosova is ruled by her own people, completely autonomously from Serbia
2. Kosova will most likely be pressurized to make some concessions to the north that is not willing to do today.

About Borko saying 2 days ago that if Serbian President or PM meet their kosovar counterparts that would mean implicit recognition of the state of Kosova and today after 48 hours sees no problems at all in that... well let me ask you: since when Serbian politicians have cared not to look as pagliacio's???

never.

You remember the "moment of truth" in the ICJ trail??? What happened?? Serbia lost miserably and no Serbia politician had any consequences. And today they behave like that trial never took place, as that verdict of the UN court does not exist.

It is not for him to say, Hoti. If Nikolic meets with, I forget her name now, it means nothing. If he (Nikolic) was to meet with Thaci, then by all means, it would on equal footing. But that will never happen. Serbia has an arrest warrant out for Thaci, who they accuse of war crimes and terrorism. A meeting with a representative in Kosovo's government, means little. As that person has little authority.

Reading Nikolic's profile, clearly he is one of the former criminals during Milosevic's terrorist attacks that took place throughout Balkans. Kosova should have a warrant for arrest when it comes to Nikolic as well. He shouldn't even be talking about negotiations, he will fail we all know that. His mental capacity has hit long ago, he is there for a show, he is a poser one that Serbs want to hear what he has to say. As far as Nikolic getting the job done, that's a joke. Agreements have been reached, that is one of the EU's condition as well, when it comes to Kosova. We know how Serbs like to bend the rules when it comes to their mistakes, well that's not happening this time around with all the mediators that were when agreements took place. I guess Serbs have to swallow it pretty hard this time and move on with it.

@ Peggy, and Ari Gold.

When will you guys figure this out, that Serbs in Kosova are quite happy. Maybe not the happiest people in the world, that's just by their nature. They can careless about your Belgrade extremist ideas. They don't want any part of it. If they did, they would have moved to Serbia, instead they decided to live in Kosova. Those Serbs that did leave, they know why they left. They committed crimes that cannot be justified in any way, but to leave Kosova which they did. So don't come here and complain about your criminals that had to leave Kosova, that's on them.

You are.

LOLOL and even if all that happened, with the embassy next to Albania's and all..your people would still be broke as hell living hand to mouth.

Hey don't get me wrong I am not happy about the fact these negotiations are even going on, but it is really cute to see that being on the top of your priority list..hell I would too if I didn't have real country.

The only one that can make Kosovo a country is Serbia but sadly for you our own crooked politicians don't have the audacity to try this or they would be breaking the constitution.

How funny to hear all of this right now. Several years ago all you heard coming from Serbia is "no negotiations at the top" as their fists were clenched, banging against a table. I can't wait to see Serbia's president negotiate with Kosova's president! Or Serbia's prime minister with Kosova's Prime Minister. Its only taken Serbia several years to realize that they've in fact lost Kosova. Better late thn never :)

Eagle

pre 11 godina

@Ecoman

Cheers from Albania

Serbs are not going to move from Kosovo because that is their home and has been for a lot longer than yours for many of you are relatively new to Kosovo. Kosovo has been Serbia for many centuries and longer than white America and yet you still come on here and spew your garbage.
You should kiss Tito's behind for allowing you to flood over the border and harass Serbs at will until you changed the demographic.

Serbs happy? Sure, if you are happy to have to be escorted by NATO in your daily life. If you are happy to have your dead disturbed and their graves vandalized. If you are happy about murders of your people NEVER even investigated. If you are happy about constant attacks on your elderly.

This is the people with who we are dealing- and that's why we have the backing form the democratic and civilized world while they don't.
