I recently saw that the 1992 summit was, in hindsight, a big waste of time. Early indications are that this one will be no different. Sadly, these global efforts usually are. Financial gains always win out.

I am happy to see Tomislav getting time on the stage at this summit, though. He no doubt has terrific environmental credentials, having devoted his entire political career to a nationalist agenda.

It wasn't that long ago that B92 pictured him standing proudly in parliament, arms crossed, wearing his Vojislav Seselj t-shirt. Now, we see pictures of an urbane, bespectacled, professorial-looking Nikolic. What a difference a few years make. Just imagine all the knowledge, wisdom and sophistication acquired in that time. It's as though he were defending Serbian sovereignty in Kosovo by day, and getting doctorates in economics and environmental studies at night. He even had time to go on hunger strike one year!

President Nikolic learnt from Tadic, or is it that he was advised by the EU to never be in Serbia when his Country needs him there.

We saw that that with Tadic how he would venture to other European Countries when his place at those times was in his own Country.

The reason is to avoid questions from the Media, but the Media van say that the contacted or tried to contact the President, and that he either said this or that, or refuse to rely to the Media’s questions.

I think it is more likely that this was planned with the EU weeks ago, and that the EU’s demands are Nikolic’s attendance at the Rio Summit are no coincidence, or that the EU used the known occasion to make their demands Public.

There are Many People who would like a few answers, and because of modern communications, this should be easy to accomplish.

If only I could be there

On Thursday, the Serbian delegation will host a panel entitled "The Green Economy: Achievements and Perspectives in the Adriatic-Ionian Region."
Sorry, I will miss that, did Serbia choose this or was it a short stick draw.
Sounds like the booth at a science fair that they put in a corner off somewhere there is no traffic.
